    Good, but cumbersome and restrictive

    • Written by Lucas W

The cable works well, and fast-charging is helpful, but it's cumbersome. Unlike Apple's previous chargers, this cable trades the standard USB-A plug for a USB-C plug, allowing it to connect to MacBooks and the new iPad Pro. This also means that it can ONLY connect to MacBooks and iPad Pro's, unless you decide to spend $80 on a wall adapter, but that's another issue entirely. My biggest complaint is the length of the cable; it's just too long. The shortest available length is 1 meter, which is more than 3 feet long. A long cable is helpful, if you want to charge your phone from across the room. However, as said above, there isn't a reasonable power adapter. Most people are going to charge their phones from their MacBooks. This forces you to wind the cable into a massive coil that takes up most of your desk. Then there's the power bricks. Personally, I bought this cable so I could sync my phone to iTunes without having to use an adapter, but at this point I'm considering going back to using a dongle. I'd love to take advantage of the fast charging without having to use my MacBook, but despite Apple leading the charge with USB-C, they only make two compatible power adapters. Both of them are massive, both of them are expensive, and both of them are sold separately. This just isn't common sense. Honestly, you're better off with a USB-A adapter. Fastcharging isn't worth the frustration.

Must have for MacBook Pro users!

    • Written by Xinyu H

If you have a usb c MacBook Pro, not having this cable means you miss out on some major benefit! Charging from my MBP is amazingly fast and I am not just taking about phone 8 or higher, I was able to charge my 6s plus with noticeable quicker rate and especially when you have an iPad.iPad pro, this is a game changed.
I don't understand why people complaints the cable breaks a lot until I see how people handle their cables, People need to understand how to properly use and store their cable! I had this cable since 2016 when the new MBP came out and to-date no sign of disintegrate.

just received my cable today and synced my Brand New iPad Pro with a Brand New iMac seems just as slow as the normal lightning to usb cable will see how it works with the XS Max. Still love my Apple Products 19.00 cable should've came with a 1,700 and up computer or a 1,300+ phone..

    They don’t hold up

    • Written by Edward N from NORTH HOLLYWOOD

Every single Apple power cable I’ve used has ended up with the white plastic outer cover fraying, exposing the wires. They usually start exhibiting this problem after a year of use. Aftermarket cables that use braiding are highly superior. Apple needs to beef up their power cables. Exposed wires could lead to a short that fries the device.

    DO NOT BUY APPLE CHARGERS

    • Written by Francesca P from gig harbor

Apple chargers break so quickly. They work for about a month then stop working even if you take VERY good care of them. Apple has been very aware of this problem and has chosen not to fix it. I recommend buying an off brand I phone charger that has a warranty on it. It is much cheaper this way as you do not need to keep buying these chargers that stop working in a month.

Works great! Also, reviews on here are for THE PRODUCT, not your opinion

    • Written by Christopher C from Seattle

As I mentioned, this product works excellently. I've unfortunately seen a lot of people write "reviews" only to vent about how they don't like this or that about how apple runs things. That usually has nothing to do with how the product functions. So from a product perspective this is awesome and therefor get's 5 stars. Even if I don't appreciate having to buy a new cable, oh well!

    Works great!

    • Written by Corey F from Fayetteville

Notwithstanding Apple’s monopoly on USB-C-to-Lighting cables, I don’t mind. Comparable third-party units incur nearly equivalent damages to one’s wallet. I maintain that $19 for a lasting cable is fair, and I’m content that I can finally fast-charge my iPhone X with a third-party USB-IF-certified USB-PD power supply and Apple’s USB-C-to-Lightning cable!

    The cable works great, BUT.........

    • Written by Cheron B from Fort Pierce

When did theres an APP for that, turn into, theres a cable for that, theres an adapter for that, theres another charge for that? An admitted Apple snob has become discontented with high price and lack of innovation. I also am concerned that you cannot freely review products here. I needed to go on other numerous sites to get user reviews. My MacBook works fine but I have had to buy numerous cables, adapters and add ons to get it to work the way I need. For $1299 on the MacBook I think the cables, etc. should come with it. Apple! Get it together!
