    Bubble in Back.

    • Written by Emily B from WHB

This is my first disappointment with Apple. The case came with a bubble in the back and no matter how many times you adjust it it does not go away. I’m extremely bothered by this as it takes an attractive phone and makes it look bad. While I have always been confident I. Apple, this case has heatedly let me down and I’m not sure I’ll buy another apple case again.

    Good easy to fit case

    • Written by Daniel P from Norwich

I’ve not had the issue that some other reviewers have had where there’s a ‘contact patch’ on the back. I have a blue XR so not sure if it depends on the colour you have?
But anyway this case is pretty easy to fit, harder to get off but then you want it to stay on I guess!
Completely clear with no logos on the back like some companies put on their cases.
You can tell it’s not just plastic but a slight rubbery coating on the case also, which makes grip better.
The case comes out a bit at the front around the edges so that if you drop the phone on it’s front the screen won’t get smashed.
Only thing I would say is make sure the back glass of your phone is clean before you apply the case.
Mine wasn’t so I had to remove it and clean the back.

    Haters gonna hate

    • Written by Lucas L from Louisville

Reading and watching reviews on this case, there's a great deal of criticism getting thrown around that I feel is undeserved. After having a look at my local Apple store, I felt confident enough to purchase. After about a week of use, my feeling is 10/10 would do again.

Buttons: Yes, pushing the buttons takes some more force than without a case or some other cases. However, I find the tactile experience satisfying in its own right with a nice solid mush. You do still get the click sensation, but it's very light. To get response from the buttons, you don't have to push as hard as you'd think based on the feel, so I reckon many reviews may have gotten thrown off by that.

Texture: Yes, it's slicker than silicone or other grippier cases, but it adds substantially more grip than the glass and aluminum surfaces. I had upgraded from an SE, which is extremely easy to hold because of the compact size and square edges, so the XR was a big jump. I feel at ease using the XR one handed with this case.

Firmness: Yes, it's firm compared to other more jelly-like clear cases, but I find it to be a nice balance of soft and firm. The firmness gives it a solid feel without seeming too hard and unpleasant to touch or difficult to grip.

Fit: Yes it fits much tighter compared to other cases, but he case really feels like it's an extension of the phone. I've never used a case before, so I find that a huge plus.

    Good quality case for Xr

    • Written by Shettin A from Santa Clara

+Strong material, protects the case well.
+ Looks elegant and makes the Xr's colors stand out well.

    - Catches smudges quickly.
    - Side buttons are bit rigid.

Case is too tight. Creates giant air bubble on back of phone and is near impossible to take on and off. A waste of $40. Don’t buy this case.

    Cheap quality

    • Written by Vilma S from San Diego

The worse case ever! I’ve had this case for less than a week and it’s already cracked!!! Very cheap quality, stiff and slippery to the touch. I have always purchased the silicone Apple logo case for my iPhones but it’s not available for iPhone XR. Instead I ended up with this piece of expensive trash. I want my money back

    Love this case!

    • Written by Kyle S from SACRAMENTO

Feels great! Looks great! Only problem is I just wish apple made a leather and silicone case for the XR just like they do for every other iPhone. Thank you Apple :)

    Cracked and Bubbled

    • Written by Robert J from Edmonton

I had two of these cases. After two weeks of use, the first one I bought cracked on the bottom right corner when I was putting it back on after cleaning dust out from under the case. Apple was kind enough to exchange the cracked case for a new one. The second case had a massive contact bubble. Both cases were incredibly difficult to get off, which is a shame because you need to take this case off every one in awhile to clean it as lots of pocket debris routinely gets trapped under the case. Seriously, you almost need a brick of butter and a shoe horn to get this case off. What were you thinking, Apple?!?

Pro tip - You can prevent contact bubbles from appearing on your case by rubbing natural finger oil on the inside of the case where the bubble appears.

    Not really worth it.

    • Written by Lucas W from Santiago

This case is very sleek, good looking, and protective, but after a week of using it, it was covered in visible scratches. Also, since I am a student, I walk around campus a lot, with my phone in my pocket, and dust gets in the cracks of the phone and the actual case.

    Meh

    • Written by John M from Shoreview

    Dear Apple,
Please make a standard silicone case for the iPhone XR. I do not care about showing off the color with this poor case. It collects finger prints, and dust and simply lacks the premium feel of the standard silicone cases.

    Wouldn’t buy again

    • Written by David W from Burlington

The case is fine, and looks pretty good, but is absolutely not worth $40. The plastic on mine is poorly cut and looks like its fraying. It’s also too hard to put on and off easily. If you’re someone who switches cases often, you can expect plenty of bent nails with this case - and I have proof! I would get a similar otterbox.

    slightly disapointed

    • Written by Megan D from London

Went into the apple store to get this case because I have always loved their products. I have been using this case for about 2 months now and I was very happy with the look and protection of it. Yesterday I dropped my phone for the first tome and the corner of the case was destroyed. I know this is the point of a case and it did protect the phone but I was hoping it would have held up better in a fall. does not look nice anymore and worried it would not protect my phone after a second fall.

    I'm not completely satisfied

    • Written by Alexandra E from Port Elizabeth

There has been no yellowing after a few months of using it. So thats good.

I wish it weren't so bulky. Doesn't quite show off the sleekness of the phone.

Within a month of having it, a crack in the case has formed on the top right. Now after a few months, I see one on the camera opening rim. Disappointed by this as I have not dropped it.

    Don’t buy

    • Written by Lewis B from South Yarra

I had really high hopes when I took this product out of the packaging. It looked beautiful for about the first hour until it started getting scratch marks and started to create a bubble/watermark effect on the back. Even a plastic button on my shorts rubbing on this case gave it heavy scratch marks that won’t rub off. This coupled with the dust that gets trapped under the case makes my $1200 and $70 case look really cheap and nasty.

I highly recommend not purchasing this product. In fact I’m quite saddened by this. I’ve always been an apple fan and thought that this price tag would be worth it because I trusted that it would be good quality and long-lasting, but it is simply not worth the money. Go to amazon and you can buy the same thing for $50 less.

Very unfortunate. Will think twice about buying apple made products in the future :(

    Love this case

    • Written by Wayne B from Hyattsville

I know it’s just a clear case but the build quality is impeccable. Fits the iPhone perfectly and I also love the cutout at the bottom that will allow you to use all apple accessories.i like the fact that the power button is easy to press and the volume button and the volume buttons are not. No incidental screenshots. It’s like a hybrid of polycarbonate and tpu. People bash apple for a $39 price point but if any other company did it they would pay it.

Stiff buttons, takes away from the iPhone experience

    • Written by Mark S from Lansing

Pluses: Clear case lets the color come through and at first glance you don't see it. Minuses: Buttons molded into the case are stiff and make it difficult to use the volume and sleep/wake buttons. Sometimes the buttons' stiffness causes Siri to activate or keeps pressing on one of the volume buttons causing the sound to increase or decrease. Wound up giving it away.

Overall Disappointing, scratches, dust, cracks, etc...

    • Written by James B from broadview heights

Overall this case is really disappointing, it's my first clear case and I wouldn't buy another. It scratches like crazy, I mean within a few days is started to show scratches all over the back, next issue is it shows all dirt and if your phone gets wet the water bubbles show up everywhere. To take the case off is extremely difficult and I'm almost afraid I'm going to break the phone or it's going to go flying and break. Last issue is when it was about 3 months old I dropped the phone and the case cracked...apple replaced it but it seems crazy to me that a 40 dollar, 3 month old case would crack when dropped. The only good part about it is when new, clean, and unscratched it looks beautiful :), and it does protect the phone.

Worst Apple product I have ever owned

    • Written by David D from West Malling

Took this straight back for a refund, wish I had read the reviews on here before purchasing with my new iPhone XR. At £45 you would expect this to be one of the best cases for the iPhone XR. Far from it. Mine had a manufacturing fault on the inside of the case that was visible on the back due to the transparent nature of the product. The case is way too thick - adding bulk to an already thicker than average phone. And as others have noted, getting the case on and off your phone takes patience, strength and a lot of time. Then there’s the fingerprinting issue. The shiny nature of the case means it never looks clean. OK, so I opted for the black phone that creates a mirror-like back surface, but I’m sure it will also be a problem with other phone colours. Best avoided in my opinion. Hope Apple takes note and makes the standard silicone case available for this model iPhone at some point.
