    Missing the silicone cases

    • Written by Josh K from Niagara Falls

I was really sad to see that there was no silicone case for the XR, since I've used them since the iPhone 6. I was skeptical of this after the bad reviews, but I'm pleasantly surprised after use.
    What you get/are paying for:

    1. A truly clear case. This thing is GLASS clear. If you didn't have a case on your XR for a while after getting it (like me), and dinged it up a little, you’ll be able to see everything through it. It’s the clearest plastic I’ve ever seen. My absolute favorite aspect of the silicone cases was I could get a light color like yellow or beige, and I could put them in my raw denim, super inky jeans, and they would have zero color transfer. I’m so glad they translated that well over to this case. It took on the SLIGHTEST hint of blue from my jeans (barely noticeable—and I wear suuuuper overdyed jeans), but no more than what the white phone got from my pocket without a case.
    2. The material. I don’t know what kind of plastic this is, but it’s a really unique feel. Its sturdy, but slightly bendable, and doesn’t get scuffed easily.
    3. The apple shape. Although this isn’t the silicone or leather case apple is known for, it’s the same mold/shape. You get the large exposure on the bottom for docking and easier gestures. If you like it, you like it, if you don’t, you don’t.
    4. Warranty etc.

In conclusion, if you know what you like, and apple cases worked well for you in the past, I don’t think this will disappoint.

    Sticky and Annoying to Use

    • Written by SUZANNE F from New York

Unlike my old silicone case, which felt great, this is always sticky and full of fingerprints. The worst feature, however, is that the plastic covers the side buttons, making them really difficult to press quickly. Makes using Apple Pay or turning off the phone a daily annoyance.

    Better than most reviews said

    • Written by DENNIS W from Encino

I was apprehensive to get this initially due to the many middling to negative review. However after failing with my first two 3rd party cases, I decided to punt for this case, and I was not disappointed!

    Pros:
    - Fits and blends in very well
    - Gives solid protection
    - Sleek design
    - Comfortable and strong grip

    Cons:
    - Relatively high price point (duh, Apple)
    - Hard to take off (acceptable trade-off to reduce contact bubbles and dust coming in)
    - Fingerprint smears (though not too visible depending on the angle)

    Great Fit. No Bubbles. Perfect.

    • Written by Beaux L from Navarre

I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews about "over-fit" and "bubbles." But I have to say, mine arrived, fit perfect, and no bubbles. I have a black iPhone XR so if there was a "bubbling" issue you'd think it would show it, but no. Just a clear beautiful case. It is of the incredible quality that I've come to expect from Apple. I'm extremely glad I proceeded with the purchase.

The best case for iPhone XR

It’s the best case for the XR you can find around. The only disadvantage of it is that it’s a bit too expensive

Purple Bubble On Back Detracts from Apple A-peel

    • Written by Charles S from Bossier City

I could like this case, except for its one major flaw, and it's a killer...the huge purple bubble on the back. Yes, PURPLE. It actually looks like an oil slick, and if you press on it, it GROWS to cover almost the entire bottom half of the phone. Imagine my yellow iPhone XR with a huge purple thing on the back. I've tried washing the case with dish detergent (as one reviewer mentioned), wiped, repositioned, removed and replaced many times to no avail. The BUBBLE...STAYS...ON...THE...CASE. I even exchanged it at the Apple Store for another one, but the same exact bubble is on the new case...in the same exact spot.

I finally got rid of the bubble...by getting rid of the case. I switched to the Otterbox Statement case, which shows the back of the phone beautifully without a bubble in sight.

    Mixed bag...

    • Written by Oliver M from Centennial

I bought the clear case on the day it was released. While I like the grippy feel of the clear case, I do not like how easily the dust and lint accumulate between the clear case and iPhone. I had to take the iPhone out a few times to clean out the dust and lint, and the stiff plastic makes it harder to slip the iPhone in and out. Every time I do that, a crack at the bottom close to the speakers appears longer and longer.

I had taken the case to Apple Store and requested the exchange due to workmanship quality issue. Apple Store insisted it was my fault for not installing it correctly.

I definitely think this case should be worth €15 rather than €45.

    Honestly it’s good

    • Written by Ignacio M from Quito

So I got the new iPhone XR and I am pretty happy with the device it’s display is good and it’s the right size. The clear case though it’s really hard but very protective. My only complain is that when you apply to much force to the case it sticks and creates bubbles at the back that go away almost immediately but it makes a weird sound(eg like when you apply pressure for the haptic feedback it creates he bubbles and it’s annoying because of the sound)To be honest is good but apple could have made this case way better and more protective for the price but because it’s apple they choose the cheap way and still charge $43 with tax . It’s good but it could be better. :)

Quality issue due to poor design

    • Written by Shivam S from Bangalore

After a week of usage when I noticed some dust getting accumulated inside the case specially near the camera cutout and top edge, I tried removing the case to clean. While removing the phone the case cracked near the edge, which happened primarily due to poor design which makes removing the case extremely difficult, and the removing mechanism inevitably involves bending the case edge more than what a well designed case should need. Thus just within a week from buying the case, while removing it for the first time, the case got damaged despite no mishandling on my part.

I have never struggled so much un my life to take a case off. The only way it will come off is by breaking the case.

Not too bulky with the case. Nice

    • Written by Omar A from San Antonio

This case fits in perfect. It is a little difficult to remove and charge or use the smartphone alone. Being plastic, adds little weight. And this is the best case to use with one hand. Usually, most Smartphones are unusable with one hand only. And the experience is not great. One feels the bulky phone and case all day. And that is not a great experience. This was the total opposite. To me it is worth it. Too bad tariffs will only drive prices up.

    Bubble in Back.

    • Written by Emily B from WHB

This is my first disappointment with Apple. The case came with a bubble in the back and no matter how many times you adjust it it does not go away. I’m extremely bothered by this as it takes an attractive phone and makes it look bad. While I have always been confident I. Apple, this case has heatedly let me down and I’m not sure I’ll buy another apple case again.

    Good easy to fit case

    • Written by Daniel P from Norwich

I’ve not had the issue that some other reviewers have had where there’s a ‘contact patch’ on the back. I have a blue XR so not sure if it depends on the colour you have?
But anyway this case is pretty easy to fit, harder to get off but then you want it to stay on I guess!
Completely clear with no logos on the back like some companies put on their cases.
You can tell it’s not just plastic but a slight rubbery coating on the case also, which makes grip better.
The case comes out a bit at the front around the edges so that if you drop the phone on it’s front the screen won’t get smashed.
Only thing I would say is make sure the back glass of your phone is clean before you apply the case.
Mine wasn’t so I had to remove it and clean the back.

    Haters gonna hate

    • Written by Lucas L from Louisville

Reading and watching reviews on this case, there's a great deal of criticism getting thrown around that I feel is undeserved. After having a look at my local Apple store, I felt confident enough to purchase. After about a week of use, my feeling is 10/10 would do again.

Buttons: Yes, pushing the buttons takes some more force than without a case or some other cases. However, I find the tactile experience satisfying in its own right with a nice solid mush. You do still get the click sensation, but it's very light. To get response from the buttons, you don't have to push as hard as you'd think based on the feel, so I reckon many reviews may have gotten thrown off by that.

Texture: Yes, it's slicker than silicone or other grippier cases, but it adds substantially more grip than the glass and aluminum surfaces. I had upgraded from an SE, which is extremely easy to hold because of the compact size and square edges, so the XR was a big jump. I feel at ease using the XR one handed with this case.

Firmness: Yes, it's firm compared to other more jelly-like clear cases, but I find it to be a nice balance of soft and firm. The firmness gives it a solid feel without seeming too hard and unpleasant to touch or difficult to grip.

Fit: Yes it fits much tighter compared to other cases, but he case really feels like it's an extension of the phone. I've never used a case before, so I find that a huge plus.

    Good quality case for Xr

    • Written by Shettin A from Santa Clara

+Strong material, protects the case well.
+ Looks elegant and makes the Xr's colors stand out well.

    - Catches smudges quickly.
    - Side buttons are bit rigid.

Case is too tight. Creates giant air bubble on back of phone and is near impossible to take on and off. A waste of $40. Don’t buy this case.

    Cheap quality

    • Written by Vilma S from San Diego

The worse case ever! I’ve had this case for less than a week and it’s already cracked!!! Very cheap quality, stiff and slippery to the touch. I have always purchased the silicone Apple logo case for my iPhones but it’s not available for iPhone XR. Instead I ended up with this piece of expensive trash. I want my money back

Feels great! Looks great! Only problem is I just wish apple made a leather and silicone case for the XR just like they do for every other iPhone. Thank you Apple :)

    Cracked and Bubbled

    • Written by Robert J from Edmonton

I had two of these cases. After two weeks of use, the first one I bought cracked on the bottom right corner when I was putting it back on after cleaning dust out from under the case. Apple was kind enough to exchange the cracked case for a new one. The second case had a massive contact bubble. Both cases were incredibly difficult to get off, which is a shame because you need to take this case off every one in awhile to clean it as lots of pocket debris routinely gets trapped under the case. Seriously, you almost need a brick of butter and a shoe horn to get this case off. What were you thinking, Apple?!?

Pro tip - You can prevent contact bubbles from appearing on your case by rubbing natural finger oil on the inside of the case where the bubble appears.

    Not really worth it.

    • Written by Lucas W from Santiago

This case is very sleek, good looking, and protective, but after a week of using it, it was covered in visible scratches. Also, since I am a student, I walk around campus a lot, with my phone in my pocket, and dust gets in the cracks of the phone and the actual case.
