    Cheap plastic case

    • Written by Sidney H from St Lucia

Cheap plastic case that certainly doesnt worth $300 HKD. Dusts easily enter through the gap between the phone and the case, prone to fingerprints and marks, doesnt protect the bottom of the phone, case itself is slippery and makes an ugly mark that looks like a wet spot. There are plenty of cheaper and better alternatives on the market, simply the worst case apple has ever produced. Dont get ripped off by the cheap piece of plastic.

    Worst Apple case EVER

    • Written by Mark K from MODBURY

Just mind-boggling how this made it to market. Way too tight for the phone and exceptionally difficult to remove without brute force. Just tried to take mine off to clean the phone and the case broke (cracked down the middle).

A disgrace, buy a third party case.

    Worst case I’ve ever had.

    • Written by Cameron B from Scottsdale

This case is the opposite of everything it’s advertised as. The case is absolutely not scratch resistant it got a large scratch on the second week of usage on the inside, why on the inside you may ask, well... air bubbles keep getting trapped in the inside for some reason, maybe poor quality material, I don’t know. As well as this I dropped it on accident, and I do not exaggerate, 1.5 feet feet from the ground and the back cracked, the back is made of plastic which is harder to crack then the glass on the front, so I can’t snag one what it will do to the front considering it’s not fully covered like the back. Don’t buy, terrible use of money and way overpriced.

    Pretty but not user friendly

    • Written by Julia M from Halifax

I like this case when it's on my phone. It feels nice in your hand and fits the phone really well. However. Being clear, it collects dust easily, and I tried taking it off to clean it out. It probably took me close to 20 minutes and two very sore thumbs to get the case off and back on again. It was really frustrating when all I needed to do was wipe out a few specs of dust. I also felt during the whole process like I was either going to snap the case or damage the phone due to how much pressure it took to get the case on and off. Otherwise good case. Just hope I don't have take it off very much...

    Bubble

    • Written by Alice Z from Mukilteo

The case had a bubble immediately and even after switching cases 3 times every time there was a new bubble. It looks like oil and it spreads after you touch it. So weird. Would not recommend.

Great quality materials but contact bubbles are AWFUL!

    • Written by Danielle M from Bible

The case itself is made exceptionally well- something I keep in mind when purchasing Apple branded cases. However the contact bubbles from the case touching the back of the phone makes this pricey ($55!) case seem much cheaper. Disappointed.

How to get rid of any 'bubble'

    • Written by P.P. I from Laren

Simply apply a tiny bit of clear oil on the inside of the case. I used sunflower oil. Then wipe it all over the inside, so as to create an even film. Remove any excess of oil. When properly and evenly done, the film of oil will not show once you apply the case to your iPhone. The film of oil prevents any adhesion (bubble) of the case with the back of the iPhone. Worked fine for me.

Welp, it survived the "drop test"

    • Written by Robert H from Yorktown

The case itself is clear and just grippy enough to stay in your hand but not difficult to put in your pocket. What really matters with cases is protection and this case provides it. As I was getting out of my car, fiddling with my backpack, I dropped my phone for about 3-4 feet onto concrete where it impacted on the bottom corner and landed on its face. The case is dinged a little on the corner now, but that's about it. The phone itself is perfectly fine! No breaks on the screen, no dent on the corner, and even the rear glass is intact. So that's worth enough for five stars from me. This case might not protect from a 20 foot drop, but it seems to be enough for what is probably a more common distance of a few feet.

    Hmm..

    • Written by Chris V from NEW BRAUNFELS

I really don’t fully understand all the hate for this case. Yes, the price is a bit steep for a simple clear case. But so far that hasn’t bothered me as I think this case is incredible for the XR. The fit is perfect (as all of Apple cases are), it’s a really good material I don’t find it slippery either. I don’t have any problems with contact bubbles either. If the case holds up and doesn’t yellow or become covered in micro abrasions and scratches, it will be well worth it.

    Scratches so easily

    • Written by Tim L from Conneaut

I have had the case for just one day and I originally wanted it since other cases I had simply just added a ton of bulk. Now that I have it I definitely like having a case that really shows its color and is a much better fit. The problem is that its just covered from scratches and I mean ones you can put a finger nail into. It doesn't really make sense as I have had apple cases in the past and all they did was color but that was something that happens to leather not seeing a scratch at all just with age they may had fallen apart but that makes sense for how long I had them. This is just poor quality I really believe considering I had nothing sharp at all touch it nor did I drop it.

    Cracks easily

    • Written by Santiago Martín L from Capital Federal

Very frequently dust gets inside the case and, considering I have a black Xr, that is easily spotted. So I have to remove the case to clean it, wich has caused little cracks by the lower speakers and the side buttons. Plus, after only two months of use, it's covered on very visible scratches that undermine the premium aspect of the phone itself. Certainly, not recommended to black iPhone Xr owners.

    Missing the silicone cases

    • Written by Josh K from Niagara Falls

I was really sad to see that there was no silicone case for the XR, since I've used them since the iPhone 6. I was skeptical of this after the bad reviews, but I'm pleasantly surprised after use.
    What you get/are paying for:

    1. A truly clear case. This thing is GLASS clear. If you didn't have a case on your XR for a while after getting it (like me), and dinged it up a little, you’ll be able to see everything through it. It’s the clearest plastic I’ve ever seen. My absolute favorite aspect of the silicone cases was I could get a light color like yellow or beige, and I could put them in my raw denim, super inky jeans, and they would have zero color transfer. I’m so glad they translated that well over to this case. It took on the SLIGHTEST hint of blue from my jeans (barely noticeable—and I wear suuuuper overdyed jeans), but no more than what the white phone got from my pocket without a case.
    2. The material. I don’t know what kind of plastic this is, but it’s a really unique feel. Its sturdy, but slightly bendable, and doesn’t get scuffed easily.
    3. The apple shape. Although this isn’t the silicone or leather case apple is known for, it’s the same mold/shape. You get the large exposure on the bottom for docking and easier gestures. If you like it, you like it, if you don’t, you don’t.
    4. Warranty etc.

In conclusion, if you know what you like, and apple cases worked well for you in the past, I don’t think this will disappoint.

    Sticky and Annoying to Use

    • Written by SUZANNE F from New York

Unlike my old silicone case, which felt great, this is always sticky and full of fingerprints. The worst feature, however, is that the plastic covers the side buttons, making them really difficult to press quickly. Makes using Apple Pay or turning off the phone a daily annoyance.

    Better than most reviews said

    • Written by DENNIS W from Encino

I was apprehensive to get this initially due to the many middling to negative review. However after failing with my first two 3rd party cases, I decided to punt for this case, and I was not disappointed!

    Pros:
    - Fits and blends in very well
    - Gives solid protection
    - Sleek design
    - Comfortable and strong grip

    Cons:
    - Relatively high price point (duh, Apple)
    - Hard to take off (acceptable trade-off to reduce contact bubbles and dust coming in)
    - Fingerprint smears (though not too visible depending on the angle)

    Great Fit. No Bubbles. Perfect.

    • Written by Beaux L from Navarre

I was a little worried after reading some of the other reviews about "over-fit" and "bubbles." But I have to say, mine arrived, fit perfect, and no bubbles. I have a black iPhone XR so if there was a "bubbling" issue you'd think it would show it, but no. Just a clear beautiful case. It is of the incredible quality that I've come to expect from Apple. I'm extremely glad I proceeded with the purchase.

Purple Bubble On Back Detracts from Apple A-peel

    • Written by Charles S from Bossier City

I could like this case, except for its one major flaw, and it's a killer...the huge purple bubble on the back. Yes, PURPLE. It actually looks like an oil slick, and if you press on it, it GROWS to cover almost the entire bottom half of the phone. Imagine my yellow iPhone XR with a huge purple thing on the back. I've tried washing the case with dish detergent (as one reviewer mentioned), wiped, repositioned, removed and replaced many times to no avail. The BUBBLE...STAYS...ON...THE...CASE. I even exchanged it at the Apple Store for another one, but the same exact bubble is on the new case...in the same exact spot.

I finally got rid of the bubble...by getting rid of the case. I switched to the Otterbox Statement case, which shows the back of the phone beautifully without a bubble in sight.

    Mixed bag...

    • Written by Oliver M from Centennial

I bought the clear case on the day it was released. While I like the grippy feel of the clear case, I do not like how easily the dust and lint accumulate between the clear case and iPhone. I had to take the iPhone out a few times to clean out the dust and lint, and the stiff plastic makes it harder to slip the iPhone in and out. Every time I do that, a crack at the bottom close to the speakers appears longer and longer.

I had taken the case to Apple Store and requested the exchange due to workmanship quality issue. Apple Store insisted it was my fault for not installing it correctly.

I definitely think this case should be worth €15 rather than €45.

    Honestly it’s good

    • Written by Ignacio M from Quito

So I got the new iPhone XR and I am pretty happy with the device it’s display is good and it’s the right size. The clear case though it’s really hard but very protective. My only complain is that when you apply to much force to the case it sticks and creates bubbles at the back that go away almost immediately but it makes a weird sound(eg like when you apply pressure for the haptic feedback it creates he bubbles and it’s annoying because of the sound)To be honest is good but apple could have made this case way better and more protective for the price but because it’s apple they choose the cheap way and still charge $43 with tax . It’s good but it could be better. :)

Quality issue due to poor design

    • Written by Shivam S from Bangalore

After a week of usage when I noticed some dust getting accumulated inside the case specially near the camera cutout and top edge, I tried removing the case to clean. While removing the phone the case cracked near the edge, which happened primarily due to poor design which makes removing the case extremely difficult, and the removing mechanism inevitably involves bending the case edge more than what a well designed case should need. Thus just within a week from buying the case, while removing it for the first time, the case got damaged despite no mishandling on my part.
