Good but after a few months my iPhone battery is saying 97% efficient.

    • Written by David C from WALSALL

Since using my battery case my iPhone is now showing 97% efficiency but was 100 prior to starting using case. In view of the news that Apple are introducing intelligent charging based on how we use our phones Im thinking now that charging continuously with case is harmful especially with efficient drop so soon.

    So far so good

I just got this case, I LOVED the one I had for my iPhone 7, but was disappointed they didn’t make one for the more recent models. A couple complaints. 1- $129 is steep! 2- (and more importantly) It is not wirelessly rechargeable. I have wireless charging stand for my phone but now I am back to plugging in my phone or having to take the case off the phone to use the wireless stand. Come on Apple! How can you make everything rechargeable and then do this!
I know I said two, but one more minor concern. I will see how it plays out in the long run, but when I bought it, the case has 0% battery life. Most every charging device I have ever bought has had some batter power out of the box. It concerns me that the case can’t hold its battery life properly. Time will tell.
Yes the case is bulky and heavy, but that’s the nature of a battery case. They are all heavy. If you don’t like the weight, carry a power pack.

    Great, but one annoyance

    • Written by Courtney B from Casselberry

I’ve had this battery case for a while now and I love the extended battery life. I’ve also gotten over the bulk of it. But lately there has been an issue with it reconnecting and disconnecting charge from my phone. Is anyone else having this issue? I don’t even have to be touching the case and I’ll hear the plug in charge noise happen. Very annoying.

Worth the money? I believe so!

My Smart Battery case arrived two days ago, and it hasn't left my XS since.

As a test, I had a fully charged case and phone at 6 am Wednesday morning. The case was fully drained by 8:44 pm after a day of HEAVY usage, with the phone's battery finally being tapped for power.

So after fourteen hours of use, the case finally gave up the ghost. I'd call that worth the money and not having to lug around a power brick or two for extended periods of time. The case does feel pretty decent in the hand. It adds some bulk, but I'm not bothered by that. If you like Apple's silicone cases, this will feel very good to you when you hold it. The extra thickness is worth the extra battery.

The wireless charging works perfectly (though slowly), as does fast charging with my MacBook Pro's 87W charging brick. Apple Pay is not impeded at all. The phone is charged to capacity first, and then the case allows itself to be charged.

Assuming nothing changes between now and the end of my return period, I do believe I'll be keeping this! Maybe not used every day, but often for sure. It IS pricey to be sure, but convenience often is. That's the only reason I dropped it to four stars instead of five. $129 for a battery case is a bit hard to swallow, and if it weren't for an Apple Store gift card I had I might not have taken the plunge.

My only regret? There's no red case. What the heck, Apple? No Product(RED) option? Sheesh. :)
