    They suck!!

    • Written by Dimi S

I got them in mid-November and they were great for a month and a half. Since the beginning of January the right ear piece has lost 75% of its volume and the sound on both ear pieces are not clear and crisp as they initially were. Very disappointing quality. While I take extremely good care of my things, I never expected this to happen so quickly so I can't recommend them to anyone.

Best quality but does not last long

    • Written by Santhosh M from Singapore

The headphones are quite good on performance but they horribly stop working after a period. I had exchange twice due to this issue which fell under warranty period and for the 3rd one, 6 months after the purchase, starts disconnecting from the iPhone. Not recommended at all.

    Good to have

Hello Apple team, I was very excited to get my hands on the Beats X Bluetooth earphones. The product is GREAT in terms of the music, charging and battery life but an BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. We buy the bluetooth earphones so that we can control the music and calls right through the earphones. The problem is that during the calls I CANNOT PUT THE CALL ON MUTE from the earphones and need to use phone to MUTE AND UNMUTE the calls. This is VERY BASIC FEATURE which is MISSING. Can you please IMPLEMENT the mute and un-mute option ASAP and I m expecting that the Apple team will work hard to push the update with an firmware update and make it available it. Thank you for all the good work delivered so far. Kind regards Mahendra

i too have been wonderfully gifted with these amazing sounding beatsX. however, i’m very disappointed. i had a pair of urbeats back when thy were popular but those broke along with my less than 6 month old pair of beatsx. i can see the problem i’m having is similar to many on these reviews. please, just go buy a pair from the dollar tree for better quality than these.

On my 3rd pair and now being told I have to pay for new ones

    • Written by Chris T from London

Both the first 2 pairs broke with software issues.
I've had the most recent pair 4 months and they now have a loose connection, and I'm being told I have to pay to replace them.
They're great when they work, but as a Product Designer I find the build quality an absolute joke.

    Pour Build Quality

    • Written by Michael P from Chicago

Have gone through 3 pairs with the same issue, they all break after 4 months due to the same design/build defect everyone is complaining about here. Manufacturers warranty expires after the initial purchase, which basically means after the 2nd replacement pair they sent me broke I was SOL. The 1 year warranty should reset if they need to replace the product, also they shouldn't be selling a product that doesn't last a year. Very disappointing, for the premium apple charges for its brand I expect more than this.

    Bad bad bad

    • Written by Sarah H

*sigh* These really are terrible headphones. I bought them about 9 months ago but they broke, randomly, during that time and I had to send them in. Got them back only for a new problem to have arisen. First time, they would connect to my phone, but disconnect every time I tried to open an app to play music or video. Now, they go to voice control for no reason at all, every 40 seconds or so. The on/off button doesn’t work so I just have to wait for them to die. Do not be played by the sharp design. Complete and absolute waste of money.

    garbage product do not buy

    • Written by Faisal S from Calgary

as you can see from the other reviews, this is the worst apple product. it broke down within a few months, i wasn't given a replacement by apple, they took the product and took 2 weeks to get a new one as it was under the warranty, the replacement lasted a couple more months. much better options like jabra, jaybird etc out there. stay away from these ones. sound quality is average at best for the price point

Do not purchase BeatsX by dr dre

    • Written by Diana L

This product stopped holding a charge exactly 12 months from purchase - just when the one year warranty was up. These are an expensive choice and are no better than a cheap pair. Now Apple wants what amounts to half of the original purchase price just to replace the faulty battery.

    Really not worth

For the second time and 1 year I had to send to replace the earphones, very disappointing because I bought from apple store and I have to leave behind to fix it. So means second time without doing exercises without music.

    Ridiculous Beats X

    • Written by Clarice J

My Beats X won't turn on, and when charging they blink red, white, red-red, white, red, white, red-red, white. I've tried resets with the power + mute and power + vol down. Nothing happened. I tried looking in youtube and google for solution and I found a lot of problem same as mine. And my warranty expired days ago. Will not buy any beats products AGAIN.

    Was great till stopped working

    • Written by Max K

I can consider myself lucky as my BeatsX has served me for two years since November 2016. Positive feedback: good sound quality for in-ear headphones & proper outer noise isolation, decent battery life. Negative: died after two years of service. Recently I was not able to turn them on, the indicator blinks red & white. I've seen similar reviews here, where people experience the same issue after shorter period of time. $160 for 2 years of service. Worth it? you decide. I would give it 4 stars if not the issue. 1 star.

    They suck

    • Written by Sidd A

I didn’t do ANYTHING to harm my beatsX, and checked online to make sure they’re not fake( they aren’t), and they STILL broke after a few months. The power light started turning pink. Apple still can’t do anything to help you if your beats are broken other than to reset it, which by the way, doesn’t work. I love the style of these beats and the ergonomics of it, but they still have a very short lifetime to me and many other reviewers. If the average rating is BELOW 2.5, then you KNOW the product sucks.

Defective to the core -- and Apple doesn't care

    • Written by Steven C from Maryville

I am on my second pair, which just died. My first pair died while still under warranty, and after a few weeks, I finally got a replacement pair. This pair has done what many others report -- the red and white blinking lights, won't charge or turn on, and Apple wants more to repair them than what a new pair would cost. I won't be paying for these headphones again. And Apple should pay attention to the fact these are clearly defective across the board and take care of their customers. The prices we pay for their products should result in better quality and more durable merchandise.

I have been an Apple devotee for nearly 30 years, but I'm on the verge of abandoning ship after this plus a dead iPhone Apple also didn't care about.

    Broke after 1 year

    • Written by Omar F from London

After just 1 year they randomly fail to power on. Eventually they turn on again, but after a few days will again stop working. So when heading out, you never know if your headphones will work.

When they do work, people complain about the microphone quality.
