    SOLID

So I bought this with the Magic keyboard to create a workstation out of my MacBook Pro. The first thing I noticed when I pulled it out of the box was the weight. This thing is solid and the finish is beautiful. 10/10 would recommend.

does the job, within the price

I love this stand. It's elegant and simple. It saves so much space on my desk top and the material makes me feel like the price is totally worth it. It is not slippery at all. Company like this not only sell the good for the material, but also the design. I know there are lot of similar products is cheaper than this and also do the job, but I am happy about this purchase. Other than the price, there is nothing to compare with. And if you are someone who is looking for something matches your Mac products in an modernized/great looking way, then I'll recommend this for you.

No More Hunching Over My Laptop

I purchased this along with a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2 and all I can say is they should rename this the Magic mStand and sell it as a kit. I use the stand for my 17" MBP and it tremendously improves my desktop computing experience. Ditto to all the other positive reviews, it is sturdy (my cats keep rubbing against my perched laptop and it does not slide on the desk or in the stand), stylish (perfectly matches my laptop, keyboard and trackpad) and good height to correct the ergonomics of using a laptop at a desk. As the 1 star reviewer's have stated the screen does bounce a bit when typing directly on the laptop's keyboard while in the stand, but that is not an issue for my setup since I am using a wireless keyboard.

    Excellent quality, stability and ergonomics

I needed a stand like this to prevent neck and arm strain. It avoids this by raising the MacBook Pro to my eye level. I also use it at a distance that is ideal for my vision. As I am short sighted I can now use my Macbook without my glasses.

It is very high quality, rock solid to use with a separate keyboard and mouse (both Apple), on its own, or alongside a 27 inch 4K Dell pro monitor. It also doubles up as a fantastic reading lectern and it also works well with my Lenovo X series machines.

It is not cheap but the health and ergonomic benefits make it a sound investment that will last a long time. The older comments on the rear 'hole size' are out of date now. The hole at the back can fit many cables through it.

A strong recommendation to buy. I am now looking into some other Rain Design tech as they make several good quality and highly regarded accessories.

    Does what I wanted

Pro's: mStand keeps my MacBookPro 15 inch at an excellent eye level. I use it with an apple keyboard with a two button mouse; I don't use the laptop key board. My laptop is secure, stable while I use it this way. I haven't measured laptop's temperature w/o or w/ the mStand. I haven't yet weighed the mStand, but I know Aluminum's heat capacity. I plug the laptop in only while it's on the stand. My old Macbook screen burned out after re-charging it in portrait position in a briefcase-I'm not going to take any more risks with my MacBook Pro w/Retina Display-too expensive!!! I'm not going to measure max temperature of laptop w/o mStand for same reason.

Cons: None so far; I don't expect any in the future.

Summary: mStand has been excellent for how I use my laptop.

    Best-In-Class MacBook Riser

I needed a decent stand for my MacBook Air to get me out of ergonomics jail, and picked up this along with the Twelve South HiRise. After side-by-side usage/testing for the past few days, the mStand has come out the clear winner. It’s solid beyond belief, and doesn’t move at all. Where I thought that the adjustability of the HiRise would make it a winner, it was the sturdiness of the mStand that makes it vastly superior. This is a case where simple form outweighs attempts at higher functionality.

    Pros:
    Rock solid simple build functionality.
Front lip and solid rubber bumpers keeps the laptop in place securely and confidently.
Designed to be able to use keyboard and trackpad if you don’t have an external keyboard
Cable management cutout helps keep cords tidy and reduces line-of-sight distraction.
    Price

    Cons:
    None for me.

I like the mStand for all the reasons that I thought I would not like it. This is an excellent product, at a decent price given the build quality.

    Perfect

Very comfortable stand, I don't even need to add an external keyboard, it also helps me to keep my desk tidy. I wasn't sure to buy this since I have a lot of old stands at home, but this one is worth every penny.

    Great quality product

I'm super pleased with the quality and use of this product, it is most compatible with Apple macbooks (due to size and shape) it keeps my desk tidier and overall it is simply better for working on. My wacom tablet fits neatly underneath so whenever I need to draw I can just put it under, the eye level of the screen is perfect and no need for adjusting. I'm a little curious to the swivel base stand version (although you can easily just shift the base of the stand to suit any angle yourself).

Another useful thing I discovered with this stand, is that I can also use it as a drawing stand. I can fit my sketchpad (Daler Rowney Arteco Jumbo Sketching Pad 250 x 250mm) on top nicely and comfortably draw. It's great.

I just wish it was easy to take around, as a freelancer I am usually on the move from place to place. It's too big to fit in your bag.

If you're not buying for yourself, then think about others who might need it. The best present for any Macbook laptop user, the benefits of having a laptop stand are so much better for your posture and ultimately improves working standards.

    Which idiot designed this?

I don't know which idiot designed this stand – but they've managed to make that neat little 'cable management' hole on the rear of the stand too small for the Cinema Display DVI connector. Amateurs.

As a result you have to run the Cinema Display cables around the side of the stand - creating a right mess of a spaghetti junction and completed voiding any attempt at cable management.

And they've got the cheek to show you the mStand next to a Cinema Display in the marketing materials - but surprise, surprise, there are no cables on show.

    Looks good, priced too high

This product is amazing and i will buy another it for my next macbook pro. If you are looking for a stylish and robust stand this is the one for you!
But you can get it for £42.00 from other Rain Design partners.

    Good... But...

This is an excellent stand, but overpriced, as it's the equivalent of around £25-30 in the US.
