The Hinode X-Ray Telescope (XRT) observes the outer atmosphere of the sun where the temperature can reach a balmy 10 million degrees. The XRT generates full disk images of the sun in several X-ray filters up to 4 times a day. These high-resolution images reveal the suns magnetic field configuration and its evolution. Watch how the sun changes on a day-to-day basis.
