Global Consciousness Project Grapher
About Global Consciousness Project Grapher
Claims to detect significant world events by statistically analyzing from several random number generators around the world. When the randomly generated data deviates from what would (statistically) be expected, something interesting is happening somewhere in the world.
Here’s your chance to follow the GCP in (nearly) real-time. The data being drawn represents the deviation of the most recent second from the expected value, calculated with something called a squared Stouffer Z. Basically this means anything much below 50% is interesting since it means that it’s increasingly less likely that the data is random. Actually all deviations from 50% are somehow significant, but since I haven’t got the slightest clue about the mathematics involved (or, indeed, mathematics generally) I’d be spewing garbage if I tried to explain this any further.
Without further ado, I present the Global Consciousness Project Grapher Widget, now with the following features:
- Colorful graph with all kinds of lines!
- Scientific looking numbers!
- An official sounding name!
