About It’s Nixie Time!
In the late 60’s The Burrows Corp, among others, developed the Nixie Tube — something similar to a vacuum tube or valve, but containing Neon gas and a series of cathodes formed into the shape of Numbers.

When high voltage was applied to these tubes, each number could be made to glow! This widget recreates the warm, glowing tube in the now popular clock right on your Mac.
