  • Overview

The 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Air stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC lead is provided with the adapter for maximum lead length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect travelling companion, the adapter has a clever design that allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.

Compatible only with MacBook Air featuring MagSafe 2 power port.

      Poor Product

I've had Macs for over 30 years. By far, the most badly designed accessory for any Macbook or Mac Air or Mac Pro is the AC adapter. No matter how careful you ar I've had Macs for over 30 years. By far, the most badly designed accessory for any Macbook or Mac Air or Mac Pro is the AC adapter. No matter how careful you are, the adapter breaks and shorts out long before it should; it's the Achilles heel of Apple products. At this writing, my early 2014 Macbook Air is like new, but the AC adapter just shorted out. Please, Apple, there's no reason for this.

      Charger broke within 4 months

After transporting my charger in my backpack, I was surprised to have found the cord to be frayed. Looks like a lot of people are having quality issues as well.

I ordered a 2nd charger and it doesn’t works either

I have a Macbook Air (11 inches) that I bought on 2014. The original charger that came with the laptop worked perfectly until the cables broke and all the wires I have a Macbook Air (11 inches) that I bought on 2014. The original charger that came with the laptop worked perfectly until the cables broke and all the wires became exposed, and eventually stopped charging. By 2017, I ordered a new one, convinced that the problem was the charger and it didn’t work: the orange/green light never worked. Doing some research online, I found very bad reviews about the model and that the deffect was the charger’s impossibility to warm up and do his work. The major tips were to sit on the charger to bring the heat up with one’s body. As ridiculous as it sounds, it worked! Since I discovered the problem, now everytime I want to use my laptop, I use a HAIR BLOWER for 5 minutes or so, just to produce the neccesary hear for the charger to work. I’m SPEECHLESS, the WORST inversion of my life.

      Doesn't Last

Have had my Macbook Air for less than a year... the charger suddenly stopped working. Never had these issues when I had a PC :(

      Good product!

I received my Mag Safe 2 charger with my MacBook air when I first purchased it back in July 2014, and I am just now buying a replacement charger. I never bother I received my Mag Safe 2 charger with my MacBook air when I first purchased it back in July 2014, and I am just now buying a replacement charger. I never bothered to fold the wires correctly, so it finally frayed where the thin charge cord connected to the power adaptor...4 years is pretty great, and my laptop still functions fine, so here's to another 4 years with my next charger, hopefully!
