works perfectly once I changed camera communication setting

I was ready to send the adapter back, because I really need it for the EOS, my main camera- I am going to England this summer and am only taking my iPad Mini, not my laptop, so have to have some way to back up photos (losing photos due to a lost/damaged card, camera, etc would be beyond tragic) Then I read the review that suggested going to the camera's menu and changing the Communication setting from Normal to PTP. Tada!! Success - the pictures loaded right up, I am very happy, and the adapter does not have to go back to Apple.

I just connect it to my iPad mini, turn on the camera, and it automatically uploads the files. I believe if you are shooting in RAW, it uses the jpeg generated by the camera. Fantastic!

      works perfectly

I was worried about the previous reviews, but I am totally satisfied with this product. it works with my Canon EOS DSLR and also with my old Olympus Camedia. I think people may be having problems with their camera's not being fully charged up when they try to transfer.

I honestly don’t know what this can actually be used for

Out of all the devices I’ve tested (mostly tiny thumb drives), everything uses “too much power”. I don’t get it. What is this accessory made for?

      No USB 3

Doesn't work with USB 3.0 memory sticks, says the device needs more power.

      Don’t buy

I have used one of these for several years and it has been great. However after updating both my iPad mini4 and iphone8 it stopped working. Assuming it had worn I have used one of these for several years and it has been great. However after updating both my iPad mini4 and iphone8 it stopped working. Assuming it had worn out I went into town to buy another. When I got home I tried again but it didn’t work so ended up having to go back into town to get my money back. The shop couldn’t make it work either. I also took the camera to be checked even tho this was only 2 moths old as is my iPhone. I tried it ina very old iPad mini iOS 9 and it worked. I then contacted Apple and spent 45 mins on chat. This didn’t sort it either in the end the advice I was given was to back up my devices and reset to factory settings. This I’m certainly not prepared to do with my 2nth old phone. So until apple have sorted this problem out I suggest don’t buy one.
