      When resting on a flat surface (e.g. a desktop or table) with the iPad seated properly, the Smart Keyboard does not lie flat. Instead, the weight of the 10.5" i When resting on a flat surface (e.g. a desktop or table) with the iPad seated properly, the Smart Keyboard does not lie flat. Instead, the weight of the 10.5" iPad tips the leading edge of the keyboard up about ¼", making it difficult to type on because the user must either hold the keyboard down on the desk or prop the iPad up from behind. Apple's legendary attention to detail seems to have failed them here. Do not buy this product unless you're prepared to hold down a keyboard that should not need holding down.

      Protection concern

      I guess I was so excited to order my new iPad that I did not look at this close enough. There is no back protection for the iPad. I hope they plan to add a ba I guess I was so excited to order my new iPad that I did not look at this close enough. There is no back protection for the iPad. I hope they plan to add a back that is compatible with the Smart Keyboard case. I have seen others question this on the site. Cant tell you how it works because my iPad won't arrive until next week. Its just the protection of the iPad that concerns me. It is quite an investment. Thank you

      So I was under the impression that the 10.5 version of the Smart Keyboard would have a redesigned key layout; this is not the case--the key layout is identical So I was under the impression that the 10.5 version of the Smart Keyboard would have a redesigned key layout; this is not the case--the key layout is identical to that of the 9.7 version. The picture for this product is a blatant, if not strategic, misrepresentation of what you will receive. SMH...

      DON’T BUY THIS - Stopped working after 14 months

      Like so many people on this forum mine died after minimal use. At first I was very happy with it because it was slim and functional (ie using it to type out ema Like so many people on this forum mine died after minimal use. At first I was very happy with it because it was slim and functional (ie using it to type out emails etc was fine). But then it started working intermittently and I thought it was a software problem. Surely it would be fixed with the next iOS update. It wasn’t. The problem got worse, and as time went by the keyboard connected less and less often. Tried everything: connect/disconnect, restart iPad, hard reset iPad etc. Nothing worked. I should have gone to the Apple store right away when it first started happening. Instead I waited. When I finally went they told me it was out of warranty but that I could just buy a new one. The person who helped me didn’t even know how to troubleshoot it, asking me whether it connected via Bluetooth or directly to the iPad. They didn’t try to do anything at all, simply saying: “sorry but it’s out of warranty, we have it in stock if you’d like to buy a replacement”. This is an expensive product, and Apple’s customer service is terrible. I’d expect good customer service from a company with such expensive products and making so much money. Shame on you Apple.

      Accessory not supported

      Keyboard worked great for over a year but has slowly declined and now no longer functions.
