    It's a 5400 RPM laptop drive. They make a version with very fast SSD, but no 7200rpm.

  • That's a great question. Many people assume because of the drive's usb 3.0 and Thunderbolt connectivity that it's fast. But it's 5400rpm; no faster than a standard laptop drive. There is a 7200rpm version, but I don't see it offered here. Amazon has it. 7200rpm makes a huge difference! If you're doing serious audio of video 7200rpm is a must!
