Does this hard drive come with password protection? Nothing I read about using the disk utility to password protect a drive seems to work.

Answer
You can encrypt the drive (I assume using a password, I have had 4 G-Drives but never encrypted any of them) in Time Machine when you set up the drive as the location for backup. It might be an obviously offered option, it might be in Time Machine preferences, but it is definitely an offered option and it is not in disk utilities.
