Which is a better upgrade, a better processor or more RAM?
I'm going to buy a new 27 inch iMac, and I'm only looking to spend around $2200. Upgrading from the 3.1 GHz processor the 3.4 GHz costs $200, but so does upgrading from 4 GB to 8 GB. Which would be a better choice in terms of performance, speed, durability and reliability? I am a full time college student so I rely on my computer a lot for schoolwork, documents, internet, etc. Also, I do a bit of video and picture editing with Final Cut Pro and Aperture. What should I do?

You can always upgrade memory at a later date, you cannot upgrade the processor, therefore getting the best processor now is the better choice. Also note that as newer RAM modules are introduced, current RAM prices come down, so you can upgrade your RAM later for much cheaper.
