These are essentially the same as the originals for most applications except these have a slightly higher max lumen rating (800 lumens vs 600 lumens for original) and use slightly more power (10 watts for these vs. 9 watts for original). I honestly can't see the difference.

Have had 8 Hue bulbs outside now for almost 2 years and no issue.
Not sure about the flood lights though- Answered by Steve W from Ajax

AnswerThis is a generation II bulb according to the mfr. part number (046677456207)
Generation III bulbs have manufacturer part numbers 046677464486 or 046677464509 and the text on the side is gold instead of black.- Answered by Ross A from San Francisco

Do I need to install a wink hub or Hue hub to control these sensors on the iPhone homekit app.
