There were rumors of other health related sensors, are there any other specs to know about ?
No they are not. They do not support active noise cancelling.
To identifie each other’s AirPods we thought about engraving them. Will this damage them in any way
No. Engraving your name only affects the case, not the AirPods themselves.
I need to replace my gen 1 AirPod but it only allows me to buy gen 2
No they will not, After reading a previous answer to this question and went out and bought a right gen 1 airpod. The AirPods I have are gen 2 and I lost the right one. I was totally misled. When I put the right gen 1 AirPod in my gen 2 charging case (not the wireless one), it gave me the message ‘Mismatched AirPod: the AirPods in the charging case are different generations and do not work together’. I tried finding a solution online but haven’t seen anyone even talking about the issue.

No, however you can buy a Qi-certified charging mat on apple’s website or store.
Yes. You can buy just the wireless charging case and use the first-generation AirPods with it.
Yes it does. I bought AirPods to have with my iPhone, and tried it on my iPod touch 6th gen and it works. Does not have Siri but works! Just have to manually select it in settings.
