    Leaves Marks on your MAC!!!

EXTREMELY disappointed that I took the $100 shock proof case off today and the rubber has left marks on my Mac enclosure! This case is sold in the Apple Store and I bought it wanting to protect my device. But now it has damaged it!! I read through the reviews and see this issue has been persisting for a long time! well before I bought it. This item should NOT be sold to protect you Mac.

Protection you won't want to test...

After a four foot drop onto a ceramic tiled floor... only the corner of the case is damaged but the floor and the MacBook are unmarked. So reassuring to have the same level of protection as my iPhone with a similar Tech21 case as my MacBook. I wouldn't have believed that with the weight of the laptop it would have come through this accident undamaged. The cost of the case is eye watering but thats better then it all ending in tears ;-)

I bought this case (in black) in store at Covent Garden when buying my Macbook after high recommendation from the salesman, who was, to his credit, very genuine and helpful. I've had the case on my Macbook from the moment I took it out of the box, in order to protect from scratches. My Macbook would actually look better if I had never put the case on to begin with. It has left highly prominent, permanent marks all over the top and bottom of the shell. It looks fine when the case in on however I now don't have the option to go without. When paying £60 for a case I expect it to protect my machine, not have an adverse affect. The case itself it fine, and looks smart on. I am just incredibly annoyed about the permanent damage it has done to my expensive Macbook. Waste of money.

    Love this case!

Love this case! Yes, it does leave outlined marks on the computer case but this is a MINOR problem! Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to get erase these marks! Not an issue at all!!!

    Would recomend

Having used my MacBook Pro on a daily basis my old case has snapped apart and was hanging off I started looking over the options on the market that are avalible & made my decision to get this case. The first thing I noticed was the quality of the material and the high standard of finish. Once snapped on to my Mac I felt happy that this case would not only do the job I purchaced it for but made me pleased I chose to spend the money asked for to protect such an important part of my life.

    A bit disappointed..

Whilst I am sure the Snap Case will protect my MacBook it is far from a 'snug' fit. The covers clip on fine but there is a noticable gap between the Snap Case covers and the top and bottom of my Mac which makes my slimline Mac look quite bulky. Also - and this is minor as I can't see it - the gap between the cover and the Mac makes the Apple logo very blurred. This is going to annoy me... petty I know..

Good but may mark your laptop

Having read the reviews highlighting that the T21 impact case may leave marks I checked mine by taking it off. It was purchased in March 15 with a new macbook pro. Sure enough the case had left a mesh imprint on the aluminium of the case. Having tried a wipe with a cleaner, to no avail, I tried the following solution which seems to have worked. Take the covers off, put some none sticky tape over the connections etc, then use a high quality/professional pencil eraser to gently rub the marks. Be patient and it should take the mesh marks off. Then give the PC a wipe with something like glasses cleaner wipe and it will look like new. Take the tape off and you can then fit the case again. If necessary repeat the process later on.

So far I love it, but...

The bottom section of the case is bubbled quite a bit. So much so that the laptop does not sit flat, it rocks. I believe I will return to the store for some assistance/return. That being said, I love the overall fit and feel to the case. I love the matte/rubberized cover and the potential for some minor protection from dings and dents. I doubt this will prevent much if dropped as the insulation is very thin. For that I rely on a tight grip or a back pack rather than a slim case.

I bought this at the same time as my MacBook Pro in September 2015. Upon opening it and seeing the rubber membrane inside it, I became suspicious that the rubber would secrete something that would react with the coating on the aluminium of the computer. At least one reviewer at the time had said that he had already experienced this. I emailed Tech21 and asked them about this but they insisted that it would not mark the computer. Guess what! My MacBook is now permanently marked with an imprint from the rubber. I have tried the suggestions such as alcohol etc but I can still see the imprint. Buy something else. 0 stars.

    Cas Damages your Macbook

It will leave and embedded marking on the top and bottom that even apple can't remove. This will happen with in one month of use.

    Product Was Damaged

Overall good product which feels good. But when it shipped from apple, there were scratches and dents on the case. Don't know where I can write in to get it rectified though...

    Long-lasting Durability Sounds Right

When I first saw the hefty $99 price tag, I admit, I hesitated. Having bad experiences in the past with other brands such as Speck and Incase, I was wary about purchasing another case that was made out of the same material but at a higher price. Eventually I gave in and bought it and honestly... my only disappoint for this item is that I wish I had purchased it sooner. The words used to describe this product ring true to their advertisements. Durable, tough, resistant---this case is incredibly sturdy. Being a natural clumsy awkward girl, I've dropped my laptop more times than I can remember. From hard tile floors to concrete roads, my case has been through a lot. I've dropped it off of high counters, tripped and watched it fall onto gravel, and even accidentally dropped it out of a moving car once. (Long story there) With each mini-heart attack that I get with each drop, my mind is put at ease when I see that my Tech21 case has protected it from damage. Of course there are little scrapes and marks here and there, but no major cosmetic damages to it. Appearance wise, it looks the same as if I had bought it yesterday. Whereas my old Speck/Incase cases were made out of a thin, flimsy plastic exterior shell (cheap!), Tech21 cases are made from materials that "absorbs, dissipates and repels impact"---and it really does just that if not more! Similar to what Robert F said, it has a matte rubber feel to it, but that's what I love about it since the rubbery texture makes it slip resistant. It's lightweight, smooth to the touch, and snaps on easily and has a firm grip on my laptop.

The ONLY issue I can think of with this product is that after a year of owning it, the bottom case has created some sort of greyish residue on my bottom panel. It outlines the FlexShock material on the case and it just. won't. go. away. Regardless of my persistent sanitizing and scrubbing efforts, it refuses to budge. You can't see it from afar, but you can definitely see the outline of it if you were up-close or if any light shines on it. It's not much of an issue with me since my case is on 24/7 but it might be for some. Granted, it is a little pricey, but when you have a $1k laptop, you'd want the best of the best equipment to guarantee its safety, right? Overall, I definitely recommend this product. 10/10

    definitely for road warriors

this is a great case. very light, slim, and minimalist in design. i also like the way it feels compared to the feel of the aluminium of the computer; makes for better grip. not sure why people are griping about the finger print thing as it's not an issue for me; just don't carry it while eating a gyro with your other hand ? to each their own i guess. i highly recommend this case.

    fingerprint magnet

When its clean, it looks and feel great.

But the black case is a real fingerprint magnet and that look really awful and ugly.

Great Case but buckles in MBP heat

So far I love the case but one issue, maybe rework the material and composition.
I was immediately worried when I heard weird sounds from picking up my MBP from the bottom took me a while but realized
that the case under was warm and it makes a pop sound because the rubber/plastic buckles whenever the bottom heats up.
Maybe this was intended, maybe not but you need to be aware of this when you use the product as to not freak out the way I did.

Otherwise pretty great case so far.

    Modern Case with Retro Feel

I finally upgraded my 2006 black macbook to a macbook pro but couldn't ever get used to going from the old black plastic case to the new cold metal case. So I tried this Tech21 case and it fit well and has a great non-metallic feel. The apple logo shows thru the case which is really cool. As to fingerprints, it is oil transferred from your hands to the case. So if you are eating pizza wash your hands before you pick up the laptop. Cleans easily with a moist towel. Not heavy and not so large that it interferes with sliding the laptop in the incase Tensarlite Brief Bag.

This overall is a good case but i would probably opt for the clear option. The matte black gets covered in fingerprints.
