    I love it

This is a really good controller. I bought this for my son to play his favourite games on a TV with an HDMI cable. The best-optimised game is Minecraft.

no charger. difficult to control pac-man

    • Written by munjean T from Ny

i bought it for pac-man on 4ktv but pac-man won’t turn corners. plus i refuse to buy a lightning connector the controller prices at 50 dollars should come with it. not happy at all. definitely going back as soon as it stops raining. apple should micro manage what and how things are sold to their customers. this brand would have never gotten 5 dollars from me. my five year old is frustrated and screaming as i type this. perhaps commission sony to make a controller and a few games. apple can definitely kick it up a gear for its customers that prefer them to any other company to supply all their needs. am i asking to much apple.

the game controller has a problem. control sensitivity is distorted, can not be set to ideal sensitivity. gas and Brake control has no sensitivity at all. I tried it on Real Race 3 ... they are testing it a month and it's a cheap cheap product. I do not recommend buying it.

    High quality but noisy buttons

    • Written by Dominik N from Neuville

I use this controller with the R-Play app for the ps4. It’s definitely well made but missing the L3 and R3 buttons. The buttons are also very noisy. I’m still very happy with my purchase.

Works awesome but do your research.

    • Written by Casey G from Morgan

This controller works perfectly and is very simple to set up. A lot of reviews complain that it doesn’t work with every game. Thing is NOT EVERY GAME SUPPORTS A EXTERNAL CONTOLLER! If the game you are wanting to use it for supports a MFI contoller then buy this item. I researched if Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was compatible before I purchased. This item even has an app that has a list of compatible games and there are multiple web sites that list MFI compatible games. Do your research before you buy. Don’t blame the controller for not playing a game that doesn’t support.

Love the overall design of the remote. However, within two weeks of using my remote my $99 SteelSeries Nimbus Controller myleft joystick on the controller for some reason pulls to the left on its own while playing Asphalt 8. I ended up running to the Apple store to purchase the other remote that was cheaper. I purchased this remote when they first released, I see now they have the same remote for half the price. Womp womp womp.

    Inconsistent across devices

    • Written by STEPHEN F from SUN VALLEY

Worked great with Apple TV games, however, since March 2018, all the games I used to play now crash on Apple TV so the game controller is collecting dust.

Unlike the world of MAC's and PC's, the game controller is not a generic input device on an iPad like a keyboard. It only works through it's own app which means it can't be used for most games.

So the Steel Series worked great, but the IOS on iPad doesn't provide a generic game controller interface. The whole reason an operating system (OS) exists is to provide interfaces to input and output devices.

The bugs in Apple TV and compatibility between existing Apps and the ever changing IOS make inconsistent. This year the NFL app crashes constantly on Apple TV. Last year it worked perfectly.

OK controller - marred by lack of support outside US

    • Written by Christopher B from Canberra

I bought this controller in Australia & found out I could not update the firmware becasue I was not on the US iTunes store. Steelseries do not support this device outside the US as the app is down on iTunes stores outside the US. There seems to be no will to rectify this. You're on your own.

    The controller is adequate.

I'm returning this piece of junk. Battery indicators don't work properly, and thing won't even turn on unless its connected to a power source even though it's been charging for hours. Very disappointed with the quality of this product. Played zero hours.

    Joystick breaks easily

    • Written by Steven W from Pembroke Pines

I bought one of these controllers to play games on my Apple TV. It’s easy to setup and the connectivity is good. However, the left joystick keeps breaking. The first time it happened I went to the Apple store to get a replacement. Then, unbelievably, the replacement unit broke as well. They clearly have a fault. I’ve had PlayStation controls for years and nothing like this has ever happened. The product has a problem that needs to be addressed.

    An excellent controller

    • Written by Dilir D from Chicago

I have been using this for over a month now , and it has little to no issues on my iPhone & iPod 6. It has few games suported on Mac , but this is to be expected. But it does feel a lot better than the Logitech Powershell I use. I have played GTA Chinatown, GTA San Andreas, Dead Trigger 2 ,Impossible Road & a few Sega games on this.Plus lightning charging makes it quite easy to charge too.

    Works well for some games

    • Written by David R from Lynnwood

I play Marvel Contest of Champions and this controller is listed as compatible. The problem is there is some lag, and the biggest problem is that you can't press the heavy attack button and hold it down to power up the attack, it just fires immediately. If you are a decent player, it makes the controller useless. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

    Bottom line: Look elsewhere.

Don’t listen to bad reviews. Amazing controller!

    • Written by Bradley S from Marion

First let’s put out all the “issues” everyone has with this controller. It does not come with a charging cable. Which should be fine because it uses a lightning cable the same cable you use to charge your iPhone or iPad. Also, it charges very fast when plugged into a wall charger. Also with a 40 hour battery life you will not be charging that often. Next, there is lag when using it through your Apple TV. This should be obvious since it’s connecting to your Apple device and then over WiFi to your Apple TV and there is delay due to the WiFi transmission. Some games it makes them unplayable, others do a better job of handling the lag. Shantae was unplayable, but GTA was fine. So even though it says it will do this, I would not suggest it. And lastly, the manual that comes with it is super lame. Download the app and that will help you far more. Not only do I suggest the app, I suggest checking it out before you even decide to buy this controller because it has a list of all compatible games, and some are strangely absent. All the GTA games are there, but Bully isn’t. No idea why.

There is a lot of quality built into this controller, it feels very solid. Some could complain that the D-pad and front buttons feel a little cheap, but all react perfectly and spring right back. The analog sticks and L and R buttons are perfect! They feel exactly as you would expect a high quality controller to feel. It also has a comfortable form fit to your hands for long gameplay sessions. Also the matte finish is nice providing great grip.

Probably the only thing I really wish it came with is some sort of carry case. It’s not a deal breaker, but the is the first thing I’m going to look for. Over all I highly recommend purchasing one if you have compatible games. I personally hate touch screen controls, even good ones take me out of the action by placing my hands and fingers in the way.
