    Secure Video - no plans?

    Unless this camera will support Secure Video or any other method to upload videos, it will remain a toy, not a security camera.

    Keep your receipt and the box - probably won’t work

    Bought this last week (May 2019).

    Camera image is great quality
    Easy to set up (set up using Apple TV4k as home hub) - seamless
    Gives movement alerts etc - easy to use in home kit
    Camera casing is slightly hot but not a show stopper (Many reviews say this)

    It does not work remotely (I have tried hotel WiFi or 4g) - THIS is the WHOLE point of buying a camera
    We can see other accessoires on Home kit, (ie start and stop Apple TV remotely.
    We get notification of movement remotely (triggered from camera)
    However no video, just says ‘loading’ and then fails to show video.
    Tried multiple resets and different solutions but no joy. :-(

    Hope this helps with making your product choice.

    It is nearly impossible to get this device to connect to the WiFi system and to stay connected. Update the firmware and even the reset button becomes inactive. Buy this and you will be returning it. It does nothing.

    Don't waist your time and money

    I purchased this camera when it first came out about a year and a half ago. I was excited for a Home-kit compatible indoor HD Camera. It seemed to set up easily and hooked up to our iPhones, iPads and MacBook. It would not work with our sons Motorola phone. We have numerous smart devices that we use in our home regularly. Since then it has been nothing but a problem. First of all, it is very difficult to get the recording sensitivity under control. Yes I have gone into the settings and played with the sensitivity. It will either record every insect that flies in front of the lens or it miss an event completely. Maybe it's me and I just haven't mastered that yet. Maybe? Next it regularly looses wifi connection and has to be reset and relinked to the wifi. About 4 times a year, so far, I have had to re-pare it with my Apple devices for whatever reason because it becomes unrecognizable in Home-kit. But the most annoying thing about it is, when it IS working fine when I am on wifi at home, as soon as I leave home and check the camera from LTE about half the time the camera won't respond. Then when I come home and get back on home wifi everything is fine. I don't get it!!!!! This has happened from ALL our Apple devices no matter whether I'm on LTE or wifi, when we are away from home. And again it only happens some/half the time.

    I wish we had never purchased this! We also have Arlo security camera outside and have never had a bit of trouble with them. They are easy to set up and control. Work from an app. on the Apple devices but not in Home-kit. We went with the D-Link Omna because it worked with Home-kit. I can't believe Apple even sells this camera! Don't waste your money on this!!!!!!

    The camera is truly a paperweight, please don't waste your money on it.

    I bought one to replace an old nest camera system in order to gain HomeKit capability. The camera software and firmware are so buggy along with missing features that other cameras and systems have means it is not worth the switch.

    Look Elsewhere!

    Do not buy this

    After several months of flawless operation my OMNA 180 started to experience routine hang states and connectivity issues (time outs). I’ve made several fruitless approaches to D-link support. Seriously “support” is just so far from what these people do it ain’t funny. I was promised I would “definitely receive a call tomorrow” over two months ago. Lame. I’ve been reading various reviews about this mob and there’s a lot of negative press out there about their support. Apple please do some due diligence on D-link and remove their products from your stores.

    constantly has issues

    I have owned this for two years. Never seems to work. Don't call their support line, its pointless. I was hoping because apple had it on their site it would be a quality camera that worked with all our devices. It also seems that its overheating but they say its normal. don't buy!

    Product is horrible!!!!

    I was one of the first purchasers of this product. Bought at $200 dollars. It was expensive enough that I didn't want to replace it and buy another, man was I in for it. Unfortunately, this product has a 1 year warranty. Once it stops connecting to your HomeKit network, it's done. You can't use it any more. It's been just under 2 years since this product came out and it's broken. I am soured from D-Link products and I will never buy another one of their cameras again. $100 a year for a extremely poor quality camera and software that only worked some of the time. Stay away from Omna, stay far away. If I could give it negative stars, I would. The negative for the overheating issues, the horrible file management, the oooooooozzingly slow updates to the software. There are independent developers who update their software in circles around these guys. If you want something that you will use for a while, with constant updated support, which is not unreasonable to ask for a $200 product, then go with someone else. I'm done with these guys.

    OMNA 180 HD Camera

    I bought the Omna 180 after online investigations. First let me say that the camera is nicely designed and packaged and priced competitively... but. Setup was fairly easy. Bluetooth connection between iPhone and Cam was automatic and downloading the Omna App from the AppStore and registering for an Omna Account all worked fine although it took a few attempts to update the firmware. However, the camera needs a hub - an iPad or Apple TV. I chose Apple TV since iPads are designed for portability, not to be left at home operating as a hub, and try as I might I couldn't get it to connect through my BT Router to the Apple TV box. Just wouldn't do it... So I decided to forget Apple HomeKit and use the Omna Web Account instead - no hub required. I finally managed to access my camera remotely and was able to travel around town and remain in contact with the cam. You can tell if you're connected because a blue cloud icon appears in the My Home screen of the Omna App. So I thought I was winning. Then I went to the airport to fly back overseas where I work, hence why I wanted a security cam in the first place. Omna App was still working as I boarded the plane, but not when I got to my destination and it hasn't connected since. I thought it may be a GeoLocation or IP address problem so I tried a VPN. No luck. Omna Help could only suggest that I setup the cam again which I can't do from 3,000 miles away. Failure all round really. Disappointed.

    Latest update is useless

    After the update this past week, I can no longer load any of the recorded footage on the SD card. I have two of these cameras with up to date firmware. Only live view works now. A device with the older app version still loads the footage.

    I'm sorry but the product is terrible.

    The product is difficult to use, I can't connect to it, I can't view the live feed, no guide on the internet could help me, and no amount of restarting or resetting could let me view the live feed from the camera.

    I was really excited about this product, I thought I would be getting something premium to replace what my family was using to monitor the house, but in my situation, I know and I've read on the internet that this product works for other people, but in my situation specifically, it is near literally unusable.

    The only thing I can view, is the preview screenshot when I open the app, nothing else. I can't update it, can't register to the omna account, all of them just give error messages about not being on the same network, or not being able to connect to the camera itself. My house only has one router, so how can I not be connected to the same network?

    The unit also gets hot, like really hot. My family's using like, 3 different cameras, from different manufacturers, with their own different apps and it's not this difficult to use at all. I'm sorry for the bad review, but I really genuinely wanted this to work, for myself, and possible upgrades to the others, and I'm jealous of the people who are not having problems with this, but I'll have to get rid of this camera and look for a replacement.

    Completely Unreliable outside home network

    If you're looking for a home kit camera, or even a security camera for alerts when you're away from home - this camera is not the one.

    It is not accessible outside your home network, which makes it pretty useless as a security device.

    Do not buy. Given up trying to get it to work.

    I cannot connect the cam to my network

    It is so frustrating! I have sitting next to this cam for 30 min and it keeps saying there is an error.
    Is there any trick to setting this cam to my network?
    Now I want my money back.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    The camera is excellent, but you can't view recordings remotely.

    Camera was easy to setup and works well in all light conditions. If you're on the same Wifi network, you can view SD card recordings easily enough, but not if you're away.

    This means that when I receive Homekit alerts, all I can do is check a live stream, but not what view the recording that triggered the motion alert. A bit pointless.

    The most useless camera you can own!

    I bought this product and set it up using my iphone X and it worked really well and the picture is really clear and good but as soon as i download the Omna app on the other iphone for my partner to access the camera at home, there's NO WAY at all the camera would show on that same Omna account I have logged into on the other iphone. It just shows no camera set up and its only as if its good on ONE iphone where it is being used to setup the camera. What's the point of having that camera if it cannot be shared at all to allow other members of the household to view what's happening at home?? Totally stupid and useless!!

    It is useless as a security camera, as it does not record to cloud, and I do not get any notifications of movement.

    I also wasn't aware when I purchased it that I would end up having to also purchase an Apple TV to be able to view remotely.

    Wide angle lens is brilliant, image quality is brilliant. But it's not really useful for anything.

    I just wasted several hours trying to get this camera set up and it simply won't connect. And after reading all the forums and apple support, my conclusion is most people have the same issues connecting it to HomeKit either now or later on after they have connected.

    Connecting this thing to the internet is painful, it simply is not a good experience at all, how can they call it smart when it is so stupid to set up?
