    Great little cam

    • Written by Stephen F from Grantham

Couldn't be easier to set up, like other HomeKit devices. Very high build quality. High definition video/pics. Good app to support it. On that subject: I now have 4 D-link apps (!) - about time they integrated. Not really a problem as I will mostly use the Home app on a daily basis. Strange that this is about £30 cheaper on the Apple Store than on Amazon. The Eve Smoke is also cheaper here. Anyhow, it's a really nice all-round security camera - and it has a very long, good quality, cable (a gripe I have with many other manufacturers). For the price here, on the Apple Store, I certainly recommend it.

Works Really Well & Increases Home Security

    • Written by David P from MELKSHAM

We wanted a remote camera for the home which enabled monitoring and could link up with other HomeKit items to provide security options. Within 10 minutes of unpacking and inserting the SD card I had downloaded the app, attached it to my iPhone, integrated with HomeKit and setup security options for when in or out of the house. I have no experience of using this sort of kit so followed the basic instructions and all was so easy. Other reviewers moaning about missing features are missing the point - It Does What It Says On The Tin!

    Most intuitive setup

    • Written by Roberto D from Miami Beach

Purchased this cam for home monitoring and it has been the easiest setup for any apple HomeKit product I have set up. Great field of view and the SD local storage is a plus specially with how sensitive home footage can be. I recommend this product to any user looking for home security.

    Great for nanny-cam

    • Written by Johannes P from Michigan City

Using Apple TV as a hub, this camera is great for me being able to keep an eye on my elderly mother who has Parkensonian symptoms and is prone to falling. She is in a state where she cannot be left alone unattended and when my father is teaching, and I need to be home, if I have errands to run or have to take the dog out, I feel comfortable with this camera being in the room where she watches TV. I can see if she is getting up or about to fall and able to see if she needs me to call for help. The microphone and motion detector is an added plus. My iPhone dings when she moves and allows me to pull up the homekit app and see what she is doing, even when I am at the office 90 miles away. The microphone helps me be able to talk to her, her nurse, CNA or physical therapist when I need to. I am planning to get a couple more for other rooms in the house as she is beginning to walk on her own again.

Dropped Canary for this. If you need a monitoring cam, this is great

    • Written by Stephen B from RALEIGH

So as a security camera the fault is obvious, it's recording to the camera, not the cloud. That can be a pro or con depending on how much you trust other providers with your data.

You can set up notifications and screenshot from your phone. The OMNA app lets you pull from the SD card, overwrite old videos when the card fills up, and disable the LEDs making it blend into the environment a little more.

No monthly fee, homekit integration, and a better camera than Canary makes this an upgrade for me.

    Very happy with my cameras

    • Written by Aaron D from Springfield

I have been running my two for a week now.
Integrated perfectly into homekit, now I just open the homekit app and there are my two cameras on the screen. Live feed starts very quickly compared to my old iZon.
Sound to and from cameras over 4G is excellent.
People complain that it’s all so integrated with apple and homekit. With all the cams out there why would you buy these ones if you were not apple integrated?
The night vision is surprisingly good. Very Clear and easy to make out vision in the dark.
People complain about the lights on the front they really haven’t been an issue for me.
People highlighted how hot the cameras get, they are warm but I would not call them hot.
The 180 deg camera gives an amazingly wide angle view with little distortion.
    Great quality picture.
You can use the D-Link app as well as the homekit app.
    Nice matt stainless steel look.
While you cannot record without the SD card in situ, you can take a screen shot using the D-Link app which is cool. So at least if you did see a robber you could photograph them steeling your stuff before they steel your cameras LOL.
The unit is quiet large and the base is not adjustable so only one angle is possible.
The 180 deg vision means you have to have the camera right on the front edge of a table or shelf you have it on, otherwise you get a strange distortion in the field of view at the bottom of the screen.
I would recommend the D-Link especially because I have mine to spy on my dog not so much for security.

Fantastic Apple HomeKit Camera For Living Room.

    • Written by Jason B from New Albany

I have had this product since release month. I enjoy it. The integration of live view in the official "Home" app is impressive. The live view on Apple Watch is neat. For Siri to have an eye is awesome to me. The motion detection on it is fantastic. I get notifications all day long if anything including a bug flys past it. You can access live view through Apple Watch. I can imagine having a pet & being able to see it while away through Home app. Too cool. I combined mine with a smart outlet. (Current 0.09 amps) & a microsd card.

    Very Happy with the purchase!

    • Written by Irfan M from London

Overall I really like the camera design, it looks a good solid product by D-Link. Very easy to setup using Apple Home app, very good step by D-Link to provide it's own "Omna app" which is full of features like Motion detection, SD card recording etc.. certainly worth to mention 180 degree lens on the camera which cover a lot of area for live view, 2-way audio on the camera is also very useful and it works perfectly. Hopefully D-Link will provide the automation/remote access using Omna app soon, as remote access is certainly a key feature for Home surveillance/security. would recommend anyone to buy this product.

    Excellent Camera

    • Written by Aaron C S from GRAND RAPIDS

This is my first Home Kit purchase and I waited for a camera that is Home Kit enabled and D-Link did not disappoint.
With a family of six Kids all under the age of 10 yrs and multiple levels we need a better way to keep an eye on the house , plus security when were away is also a concern.

This camera has been perfect for both scenarios , the video quality is very good if you want to cover a large field of view , for some it may be a bit to stretched , for what I needed it is perfect . The nite vision is staggering and seems like magic (its just tech , not magic)
and the ability to use the Speaker and Mic to talk to the Fam has been a nice touch.

The software is a bit first release bare minimum but all works as advertised , also  Home App is perfect for bringing it all together in a great place.

    An excellent purchase.

Great hardware. HomeKit software works well. Easy setup.

    • Written by George D P from Beaverton

I've had the Omna for a week now. It was easy to setup and the hardware is solid. I'm using a 64GB microSD with no problems. I'm using an Apple TV 3 for my HomeKit hub while waiting for the rumored 4K Apple TV so I haven't tested remote access to video.

The motion detector is useful for automation. While the Omna app does not allow creation of automations, the free Elgato Eve app lets you create rules for scenes and does not require an Elgato device. Once the Eve scene rule is created, Apple's Home app and some other HomeKit apps recognize it. Note that a rule that turns on an outlet after 11PM and before sunrise quits working at midnight. This is probably because of the date change. A work around is to create two rules. The first rule operates from 11PM until midnight and the second between midnight and sunrise.

    Suggestions for improvement:
    1. The video quality is excellent although the fisheye effect is too strong.
    2. Since the camera is far from an uninterruptible power supply, a built-in battery would be a nice addition in case of a power outage. I'm making do with the 5V 2A USB charger on a Belkin Rockstar surge protector outlet. When power is lost, the Belkin switches the USB to the built-in battery and the Omna restarts.
    3. Better handling of rules that span a date change in HomeKit.
    4. The Omna app needs a share sheet that allows it to share a frame or full video that was recorded on the SD card.
    5. Access to the saved videos via Apple's Home app would be very nice. And it would be nice if the Home app had a share sheet.

Overall, this is a solid initial product release which should only get better with time.

    Great home monitoring camera

    • Written by Tara L from Milton

This camera is great. Really easy to set up. Literally took seconds. Using it to monitor a large entrance way in the basement. I can see from wall to wall with this thing. At first I couldn't figure out how to make the motion detection trigger only around the door. But then I downloaded the Omna app. Made it really easy. Just a grid on the screen and I selected where I wanted it to trigger. Also like that I can record right on to an SD card. Don't have to subscribe or pay any money. Just wish it came with an SD card. Luckily I had one kicking around. Can view the recordings through the Omna app. I've owned other cameras before and they tend to lag. Not this one. Picture quality is great. Overall really happy with this so far.
