    Very Disappointed

    • Written by Brian W from Whitby

Bought this as i use my Ipad when travelling instead of my Macbook pro. Concept is good, works great when keyboard actually connects which is not very often. Magnets or whatever are used to keep case closed are very weak. Could be a lot slimmer. Expected better from Logitech.

Did not protect my iPad Pro

    • Written by Kate N from Columbus

I knew this case wasn't going to be super protective for my iPad since the main purpose of it was to provide a keyboard and a place to store my Apple Pencil. I was holding the case in my hand and went to turn off a light when my iPad fell out of the case. I am very disappointed that I had to go out and purchase a brand new iPad because the case FAILED to hold the iPad. I will never purchase a case from this company again.

Will not charge when plugged in

    • Written by John D from Mount Morris

Oh sure, the keyboard itself is nice and backlit, but if you want to cover your iPad with this while it’s charging, tough luck — my iPad stops charging when this is plugged in, and I’m far from the only one. I have come to expect better from Logitech as I’ve never had an issue with their products before, but this is just ridiculous.

Stops your IPad from charging when attaching the keyboard

    • Written by thomas H from Charlton

This is a common problem with theses cases, Apple and Logitech are doing nothing about the problem to solve why the keyboard makes the iPad stop charging.
If you search the on Logitech forum you will find that this problem has been ongoing since Ocotober 2017.

Apart from this fault it is a good case and looks professional but until this problem is sorted I would stay away from it.

Logitech has made some great products. This is not one of them. My rating is based on the following problems:
    1. The keyboard connection is very buggy. The keyboard worked the first time I set it up on my iPad Pro 10.5 inch, but after that it wouldn’t type at all. I had to disconnect the keyboard from the case, turn the ipad off, restart it, re-attach the keyboard and then it started working.
    2. It is not lap-friendly. It can be used on the lap in a manner of speaking, but it is precarious at best
    3. The delete key and the lock-down key are way too close to each other. I’m typing away, have to delete something and off goes the ipad.

I like the feel of the keyboard, but the bugginess is going to have me looking elsewhere unless Logitech comes up with a better solution. Sorry, I cannot recommend this product.

    Don’t do it!

    • Written by Michael B from Calgary

Definitely not worth the money and very disappointing. So disappointing that I feel the need to write my first review ever. There are way better options out there! The idea behind this is a great one, but the failure is in the execution. Like others have said, it’s not “slim” by any definition. That I can live with, and the keyboard itself really is great. The big issue is the connection between the two parts - it’s highly inadequate! The keyboard comes disconnected all the time, and I’ve lost track of how many times it has fallen off and clattered on the floor. I should know by now, but one forgets you can’t move the device from one place to another without closing it up or holding both parts. It also comes disconnected when just in your bag - which leaves the screen exposed to whatever can get at it. In short, the two parts NEED to much more strongly connected, and it needs to close better.

    Worst case ever.

    • Written by TODD C from Salt Lake City

This is a great case if you don't care about the keyboard working all the time and want to carry an ipad in a case that makes it more thick than a Macbook Pro. This thing is the most awkward, least well designed case ever. I've had logitec keyboard cases before and they've been great. This one is a loser.

This should be withdrawn then made properly!

    • Written by Richard W from St Helens

I’ve always been a fan of Logitech iPad cases/keyboards so I assumed for £109.95 this would be the usual high standard so did not bother looking at reviews, however, I wish I did. I feel like I have spent premium money on a cheap ebay £9 grade case/keyboard.

The case as reported by others is not slim, but i think this is in part to the keyboard section being thicker towards the rear to elevate the keyboard when typing, thickness isn’t a real issue for me, I want something that protects the iPad. The plastic on this case does not feel premium and the addition of some nice feel rubber in places would probably make it feel more nice to hold.

This case feels very much rushed from design to manufacture.

    Some issues I have:

    - The keyboard comes away from the case easily, too easily so it’s always coming apart with the least amount of movement.
    - It has intermittant connection issues, I have to keep detaching and re-attaching when I want to use it
    - The case cannot be folded back on itself as the smart connector isnt long enough and the magnet power isnt strong enough anyway, so you have to detach the keyboard if you want to use the ipad as a tablet, this means you have a loose keyboard hanging about which if your on a busy train or other public transport this isnt ideal.

I rated this 1 star mainly for the back lit keys.

The keys themselves are nice to type on but sadly, the overal design is very poor for a high priced suppose premium keyboard

    Terrible Case

    • Written by Jessica B from Sarnia

The case (along with the iPad) was suppose to replace my laptop.... yes a laptop starts with the word lap - and this case does not allow me to use it on my lap. It only works on solid surfaces and that is incredibly inconvient. I would have given zero stars if I could have. I don't normally write reviews but this was probably the worst purchase I have ever made - and I am incredibly disappointed in apple because they normally support great products. And at this price point you should be supporting great products! Beyond dissatisfied!

Sorry back to the drawing board

    • Written by William G from Leatherhead

Having already got a Logitech Create for my 9.7" iPad Pro, when I bought my 10.5" i went straight for the latest product from Logitech, the Slim Combo. However after 2 days of use it went straight back to Apple as it's just not fit for purpose. The case now comes in 2 parts (not 1 like the create) which means the 2 pieces are easily separated and therefore doesn't robustly protect your iPad and doesn't feel secure. Additionally, the images on the website are different to the actual product, there's a much longer support area in from of the keyboard with the Slim Combo which mean that you then have to pull out an extra leg to support the screen when typing in a landscape position. Would love a Logitech Create for a 10.5" but not this slim combo.

    a miss

    • Written by Nicholas L from Singapore

Order the slim combo but had not had a chance to play with it, its the only backlit available with smart connectors.
Its bulky, its very clumsy to set up with the kick stand (no need to mimic Surface).. just to turn it into a workhorse is a chore...
i have gone back to using the UAG cover with the smart key board (from 9.7") until another solution comes.
just wasted over a hundred bucks..

    Sloppy workmanship

    • Written by Steven H from Oklahoma City

The keyboard stops communicating properly with the iPad randomly. I will be typing along and then nothing, if I disconnect the keyboard and reconnect it it will start typing again.

I'd like to know if any other users are experiancing this intermittent connectivity issues.

This is NOT a slim keyboard and when it is closed it is kind of sloppy how it closes. Logitech could have come up with something better than this.

    poor when compared to Create

    • Written by Scott P from San Antonio

It Is very poor when compared to Create. It may work for some But it is not friendly for Using in the lap And the overall I think it is inferior to Create. Top or keyboard keeps falling of and getting detached. When you release a Create model for 10.5 inch iPad I can throw this one away.

Wow! A way to make your iPad inelegant and useless!

    • Written by Jayme S from Franklin

It's stunning that the creators at Apple and Logitech are not capable of designing a functional and sleek keyboard to match it's "epic" iPad.

I am a working professional that is often on the go from meetings to the managing projects offsite. The detachable case is awkward and detaches far to easily. You cannot balance the keyboard & iPad on your lap to type. The Apple Pen holder is not really that tight and you could easily see that if you used it frequently that the material would stretch so much that the $99 pen could fall and be lost forever.

I loved the keyboard for the 9.2 iPad (even though it was bulky).

Logitech slim combo for 10.5" iPad-horrible

    • Written by Carmen C. M from Anchorage

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Do not buy. Such a disappointment compared to Logitech's keyboard/cases for the other iPads. The iPad Pro 9.5" keyboard/case was great. This one for the 10.5 iPad Pro could have been so great if the design had remained the same. Wht is wrong? Stupid protrusion at the front of the keys is a useless waste of space. On the 12.5", that space folds away, and the photos were somewhat misleading to make customers think the 10.5 keyboard hand-rest area also would fold away. The extention in the back, to support the iPad, does not allow balancing on a lap or knees. The lightweight, seemingly weak-link of the entire case is the soft cloth area which contains the smart connections. Because of the amount of flex it produces, it will soon tear or bend the smart connectors out of alignment. If only the case could have been like the previous one. What a disappointment!!

Logitech's earliest keyboard cases were the best by far: thin, metal, matching the iPad and turning the entire assembly into a clamshell protective case. Those cases had rechargeable batteries. I loved those cases and still try to buy older iPads to use in the older cases. Then Logitech changed the design by replacing the rechargeable batteries with a little drawer contining batteries meant to be replaced. The design allowed warp of the little drawer, the connections often stop connecting, and the keyboard was as often "dead" as it worked. But when it worked, that too was a wonderful case. The next design produced a padded cover, but returned the keyboard case connections to rechargeable batteries. Again, I loved it.

But now this new 10.5 case is trash as far as I am concerned, and since I depend on a keyboard and a portable case, I am not likely to use the 10.5 iPad as much as I had planned to do, because of the poor design and unstable platform. Logitech, you have come down in quality, probably to increase company profits. What a loss for your customers and a blow for iPad users !! I give this an absolute zero rating.

This cover/keyboard is the cheapest thing I've ever seen with or without the Apple or Logitech logo on it. The fact that it's being sold through Apple and for such a ridiculous price (considering the product) is astonishing as it is seriously not up to anyone's, much less Apple's standards.

The whole thing just feels cheap from the moment that you open it. The back by itself does ok, for a piece of cheap **** anyway, but then you open the kickstand and it just flops there. No resistance (initially) from the hinges at all and i feels like a disposable plastic part. Once you move it further, it loses its floppiness somewhat and gives enough resistance to use it, but even then it feels rickety, unbalanced, and.... well.... cheap.

The keyboard was put together ok and I did like the feel of the keys and the way it connects with a satisfying magnetic *click*, but that keyboard is also the front cover and you get the strong sense that the front cover and the back cover were made by different groups who didn't know they were supposed to *FIT* together. The front cover slides back and forth when closed to the point that I wonder if it wouldn't be possible for it to scratch the screen itself. If I wasn't clear then let me be -- when closed the cover suffers from substantial lateral travel that not only leaves the tablet vulnerable, but also threatens it to damage it from the hacksaw motion as it slides from side to side during ordinary use.

Oh, two other things: A) the pencil holder kinda loses its snugness after a day or two of use and threatens to lose the pencil completely from then on out. B) Don't believe any pictures you see to the contrary, this unit is not only barely functional, could cause more harm than it prevents, is made from parts you'd expect to find in packaging vs. a final product, and on top of all of that.... it's ugly as sin too.

    Slim? Not even close!

    • Written by Gary D from Riverview

Like others here, I was surprised at how thick this keyboard/case was. I use the similar Logitech Create keyboard/case for my 9.7 iPad Pro and it is truly wonderful. The Slim Combo adds so much bulk to the iPad that I might as well carry a laptop. If you stacked 4 iPads on top of each other, you'd have roughly the thickness of this Slim Combo.

The whole outfit worked fine. I even saw some advantages to the kickstand and detachable keyboard that I do not have with the Create for my 9.7 iPad Pro. But overall, the ridiculous bulk ultimately made me return the keyboard. I also returned my iPad Pro 10.5 because the only other suitable keyboard for the smart connector is the Apple brand and there is no back protection offered. And to date, I do not see the silicone case offered for the 10.5 that was offered for the 9.7 which also worked with the Apple keyboard. The whole experience really made me appreciate my 9.7 Pro and Create keyboard.

    Too bulky

    • Written by Stefanie F from Seymour

I was a big fan of the Logitech keyboard case for the 9.7-inch IPad Pro - it was relatively slim, had great key response, and was simple. This keyboard case for the 10.5-inch IPad is simply too bulky and I did not care for the "feature" of being able to remove the keyboard. It just felt unnatural to use. The key response on the newer keyboard is also different, which someone else may prefer, but I did not. I recommend anyone thinking of purchasing this try to see it in-person. I was very disappointed and am sending it back.

Worst iPad case in the entire history of the device

    • Written by Timothy C from Athens

This case takes what is a beautiful, elegant, thin tablet and surrounds it with hard plastic and makes it thicker and larger than the largest Windows laptop. What I was hoping was that this was the equivalent of the Logitech Type+ case for the iPad Air 2. The Type+ case is thin and well suited for business use of the tablet. This "Slim Combo" is anything but Slim - it now makes the Ipad 3x thicker than the iPad itself. I am returning this tablet to the Apple Store.
