Brilliant keyboard, bulky protection, yet still very portable

    • Written by Nabiel J from Huddersfield

The combined weight of this keyboard with the case and the ipad is around 1.2kg. The average weight of common mid-range windows laptop on the market is around 2kg. And this is my all important prelude.

Characteristics of the case: It looks simple and professional, as well as practical. I believe bottom of the keyboard is waterproof to some extent. It definitely bulks up the bare ipad a lot.

Protection: A huge lip for the front of the screen around 1cm is the consummate faculty of this case imho (with the exception of the keyboard itself). So you can drop your ipad face down from the top of the Emley Moor Mast onto a concrete floor with no besmirch to the screen, I am confident to say.

Keyboard: Plastic, tactile, individual keys and brilliant features (function keys and backlight) make it better than most ordinary windows-laptop keybaords on the market right now. I have above average sized hands and stumpy finger tips yet the keys are large enough for precise typing.

Any gripes? Yes - my case came a little marked on the outside (underneath the keyboard). I think it is a manufacture or factory error, as it was brand new anyway. But I cant be bothered to return it so ill just use it regardless. Also the kick-stand is quite wobbly and has some extra headroom, which I think is deliberate but still piques my unreasonable self. Also, unless you are Shaquille O'neal, you'll find it hard to fit the entirety of the edifice on your lap to type with what with the kickstand out and all.

    I really like this case

    • Written by Marlee T from Union

I personally love this case. I bought the apple keyboard, but returned it because I hated typing on it. I wanted a case that included a keyboard and would protect the iPad itself so I ordered the Logitech. I read some reviews about it being too bulky, but I feel that it's thick enough to actually protect the iPad if I drop it. I like that it has the Apple Pencil/ stylus sleeve. I also like the adjustable kickstand. I haven't used the keyboard much yet but I can already tell that I like it much more than the apple keyboard. I would recommand trying this case to others.

Not perfect but good all round protection

    • Written by Andrew M from Peterlee

It was a toss up between this and the apple keyboard, after playing with the apple keyboard and deciding that it was out of the question due to having no back protection i opted for the Logitech.

    Hard shell case
    Backlit keyboard
    A lot cheaper

Adds bulk to the iPad Pro
    Slightly more weight

I wasn't to sure how long the Apple keyboard would last, especially if it was being put in a bag or such each day with it being made from a softer material type, the corners might start to go. Overall I'm happy i chose this as it should last longer and give more protection. The keyboard detaches and snaps back on as per the Apple type.

    It does it all!

    • Written by Dr. Laura U from TAMPA

I only knocked it to 4 stars due to price, and it is slightly heavy. However; it does have a keyboard and protects the iPad. The keyboard is easy to use, and yes, I am that person who keeps thinking the empty space is the MacBook touch pad. The keyboard detaches easily to use the iPad solo. The kickstand works great for watching movies. I love that it holds the ever so easy to lose $100 pencil. Nothing can replace my MacBook, not for my needs. Yet, this keyboard/case allows me to use it as a substitute some days to lighten my load. I stalked the nearest Apple store to buy it online and pick it up, rather than wait for it. It is worth trying, especially if you want a pencil holder and a smart keyboard connector that gives protection. This was an expensive purchase. Apple's slim keyboard just isn't going to cut it for me.

Kickstand allows more viewing angles and the keyboard is better than ASK.

    • Written by Charles S from Walnut Creek

The Apple Smart Keyboard (ASK) only allow ONE vertical viewing mode and ONE horizontal viewing mode. The Logitech one allows many more viewing angle, almost 140 degrees!

The keyboard, IMHO, have better tactile feel and the keys travel is much better. But then again, Logitech is known for a keyboard manufacturer so they have decades of experiences in this area.

As for the design, well, the keyboard is quite thick. With the case + keyboard, it's basically the thickness of two iPads. This is where Logitech fall short - they COULD have made the case thinner, just like the 12.9 version. If you see the 12.9 and 10.5 Logitech Slim Combo case, you will see the 12.9 case is much thinner.

    Protective and Highly Functional

    • Written by Matthew O from Wichita

I was looking for a keyboard that would provide my iPad Pro all the functionality of a more traditional laptop. This keyboard fits the bill. It provides more than adequate protection (full, rigid, hard cover front and back) with an easy to use and highly functional keyboard. I have no concerns about throwing the iPad in my backpack now for travel and it will remain fully protected (which was a concern with the Apple keyboard).

    Pros and Cons

    • Written by Michael P from HANOVER PARK

I had an 9.7 Air 2 with the Logitech case before getting the 10.5 Pro.

    - Keyboard is great to type on, feels full size if it is not.
    - Pencil Holder
    - Multi position stand: Portrait or landscape modes.
    - Height and width about the same as the older case, fits my bags
    - Great on tables or desks.
    - Keyboard detaches for reading mode, no keyboard flapping around.
    - Protects iPad fully.

    - Not thin as the name says, the 9.7 keyboard case was thinner.
    - Not good on a lap for typing.
    - Keyboard "floats" a bit when carrying.

I use the iPad daily at work and home. Over all I like the case I like it better thank the Apple keyboards as it protects the back.

    Bulky, but highly functional

    • Written by Lance P from Charlotte

Just upgraded my Air 2 with Type + setup. I was tempted by the detachable keyboard and more versatile setup. Never loved Apple's smart keyboard or the price. Not sure if I love the materials on this. The hard plastic seems a little cheap. I've only had it for a day so I can't speak to durability. Love the backlit keyboard for nighttime blogging.
