Good sound quality, but it has a few issues

    • Written by Marcelo K from Chicago

I had high hopes but ended up returning them. The sound quality and the fact that they stay on all the time are a plus. The cons, tricky to pair and it wasn't as simple as any other Bluetooth headsets. There are a lot of complaints from users about the same issues. The instructions mention that turning them off is as simple as pressing a button for 3 seconds until you hear a signal. Not quite. As soon as the button is pressed, it disconnects from the device/smartphone and it immediately enters on pairing mode. The only way to turn them off is by placing them in their case. what if I just want to put them in my pocket or bag? During calls or other notifications, the sound comes out only from the right headphone. I really didn't like that. The battery seems to drain a lot faster than expected. It drops about 20% for every hour used. However, from one use to another it dropped 30%. If I use them to go to the gym in the morning and for something else during the rest of the day, I would have to charge them daily to ensure that they don't run out of battery from one day to another, like it happened already.

    Same experience as the others

    • Written by Daniel Q from EL PASO

Luckily I got these for free since Apple was trying to make up for a bad in-store experience. They worked really well for the first few months. Eventually the left bud would drop out, and I figured it was mainly because I was just listening to a spoken word podcast (as opposed to music). Now, they flat out shut off completely. Oddly, this mainly happens when I walk my dog around my apartment building; they are extremely reliable when I go running or am at the gym. These reviews and the Bose message boards show that this is extremely common. Buyer beware.

    Won't Connect

    • Written by Amy H from Denver

These have such an amazing sound quality but they just don't work. They won't connect and stay connected. The battery is garbage. BUT THEY SOUND GREAT for those 5 minutes that you can get them to work. Bose has amazing speakers but these are just disappointing.

    Bose needs to be better...

    • Written by Paul D from Orangevale

Pros: Music sound quality, charging case, battery life, stability in ear, color and sweat resistant.

Cons: Audio lag latency w/ some 3rd party apps (YouTube), rubber wings hurt my ears after 5 minutes, they do not seal off your ear canal, they are very bulky when in your ears, there is prevalent wind noise when running/cycling, they cost too much, bluetooth reliability is poor, call instability (one ear only), buttons very hard to press, no tap to command features and extremely short charging cable.

Summary: I'm not completely sure what activity these SoundSports would be good for. They do not seal off your ear canal, therefore that pretty much rules them out for gym use. The wind noise when running/cycling drowns out the music. The lag latency when watching YouTube is a solid one second. They require a 3rd party app on your iPhone to be managed, so no seamless integration. Unfortunately, I personally feel Bose has completely missed the mark with this generation of SoundSports. Highly recommend trying other products prior to pulling the (expensive) trigger on these.

    Video lag plus

    • Written by Jose C from Cicero

These had the potential to be awesome. The fact that Bose hasn’t been able to fix the video lag across all platforms is sad. I know the lag may depend on the app or whatever but this shouldn’t be the case with a pair of $200 headphones. I’ve updated the firmware and still a lag. Aside from this, they fit well and sound great. They get tricky to pair if I go from one device to another. The case loses charge even if I don’t use them over the course of a week. So all in all, yes they sound good but the fact that Bose can’t figure out what Apple and Beats seemed to figure out in regards to video audio they get my low rating.
