    Ok product.

    • Written by iPirmin C from SOUTH FREMANTLE

There is nothing particularly marvellously good or bad about this product. My comment to all the other bad reviewers is that I have had no problems with it, if it's broken get it replaced! Why do you have to rate it badly, I do 2 get the odd cable getting yanked out when kids run around cables but that I assure you is much better than your MAC FLYING into the ground! They are very durable unlike these other long ones with long thin pins that break itself and the whole pc if it gets yanked ground wards. I do recommend this product but make sure u get the correct wattage. Best go talk to the apple guys.

No idea with all the complaints

    • Written by Eron S from Singapore

I would not say that the charger is perfect, but I think it works well enough. Mine never broke or frayed. Even my old mag safe 1 never had any problems besides it getting dirty at the transformer(my fault). The only grip i had with mag safe 2 is that i wish the connector was more "L" shaped and not like the 30 pin connector. I understand why they did it (the new macbook pro with retina display it too thin.) but i wish it was less protrusive.

All in all, Im quite happy with the plug as it is compact and easy to carry about.

the mag connection works well and probably has just the right amount of strength to avoid tripping tragedies. winds well with a handy clip to hold the cord on once wound

Why i like the MacBook Air T design charger

    • Written by Luke R from Melbourne

This charger works perfectly for me i like the T design more than the L design, it never falls out on me and if it does it reconnects strait away be holding onto its mannetic grip. i don't understand what the problem with all these people and this charger is but it works fine for the average user I'm sure.

    Fine... so far

    • Written by Aya M

I don't really know why these people look so hurt. I haven't encountered a problem so far, though i am giving only 4 stars just to make room for some improvements. The cord looks weak so i put some cord protector (spring) just for additional quality integrity. I think the magsafe adapter is great for its convenience, the cord just looks weak that people tend to be conscious about its quality. So far, i'm satisfied.

I dunno WTF you guys are doing?

    • Written by William T from St Lawrence

I've had my air since mid 2012 and the charger is now on it's last legs. This seems fairly reasonable to me as I've travelled with it a lot. Wear and tear is a thing that happens.. what's the big deal?

Poorly Made but Does the Job!!

    • Written by Maureen T from Verona

I've had my MacBook Air since December 2012 and am just now replacing the power adapter! Just like any other Apple charger, it's made very poorly as far as the casing goes and tear easily if not properly taken care of (mine tore almost in half while moving this past week). However, after almost 4 years, I have had NO problems with the way the adapter charges my computer, which is it's main job!! Annoying that they tear and are so expensive, but still work very well!

    Not eternal, but functional

    • Written by Vivian C from Honolulu

I have to replace the 45W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter for MacBook Air, today, because the wire that connect to the charger is frayed. I got years of great service, and yes, things eventually break. The magnet always worked exactly the way it's supposed to -- trip over the cord and it releases instead of bringing the laptop crashing to the ground. I wish the cord part was modular, so I could just replace the frayed wire section, but it's not. And that's the price of constantly improving technology; for me it is worth $79 for the R&D and fantastic product design (and function!) that makes Apple products so wonderful. Oh, and I can either have it sent to me, for free, and get it in about 4 days, or mosey on down to my local Apple Store. Which is beautiful, and has hands-on displays of other stuff I want, and get information from the intelligent, knowledgeable, friendly staff. Or maybe are a FREE appointment at the Genius Bar, where they will explain what's wrong and fix it...

    Had little issues

    • Written by Sarah T from Monee

I've noticed many people have had issues with this charging chord, but I have had none in the 4 years I've had my Macbook Air. I just recently started to notice it shorting out every once in awhile. The charger has been lugged around and thrown in many bags as I used it in college. I really like the magnetic feature because it doesn't hurt the computer if it gets ripped out.

    It works for me

    • Written by Alyssa Y from Fairmount

I've actually not had an issue with my Macbook Air or the charger until my puppy got ahold of the charger. I think the price is insane, but I've never had an issue with it and it goes everywhere with me. Overall, I'm satisfied.

    Mine lasted 6 years

    • Written by Martin W from Sutton Coldfield

My well abused power adapter has lasted 6 years and frayed cable at the computer end is the problem. I applied some insulation tape as additional support early on and perhaps others could do this. I bought one in ebay for £13 which lasted only 3 months before it died and I think wise to have genuine Apple product.

Replacing the battery on the MacBook also helped as charge lasts much longer and less use of the adapter.

    Strange Problems?

    • Written by Liam L

So I've had mine for about a year and I'm pretty heavy on it as I sleep with my Mac Book so sometimes I get my leg stuck in the cord and tug on it, but I never have problems with it falling out I do get the other reviews say any force on the top or bottom makes the cord fall out but I never seem to have problems with it. My only problems is that my cord is slowly turning yellow and the LED just shuts off randomly and continues to charge my Mac Book.

    • Written by Celeste F from Canberra

With proper care the cable was in good condition for 3 years, but once the cord was damaged the rubber frayed very quickly.

    What are you crying about?!?!

    • Written by Devin C from Bakersfield

I have had my MacBook Air since 2015. I mostly use it for school, which is a lot mind you. The adapter that came in the box has still been working for me. A few times the charge hasn't exactly worked but with a little adjusting it does just fine. The only real issue that I have had with it is a slight tear in my cord. The ease of removing from the magnetic port is also comforting since sometimes I forget I am plugged in or I step on the cord removing it safely from my computer with out damage. My previous computer didn't handle those problems well.

    Not bad!

    • Written by Bárbara F from Linda a Velha

After wasting a LOT of money on my old MacBook Pro cable, I decided to be EXTRA careful with my new computer and charger. I've had this one for 3 years now, always doing my best not to bend it wrongly and always keeping straight. Unfortunetly the rubber is falling appart, even with all the care I had for it. I feel like it is a low quality product, and fo it to last, you REALLY need to take care of it. It's still working even tho the metal cable is showing in some parts, or is full of ducktape everywhere. I'm still getting a new since I feel this one will just die on me very sooon.

What are you doing with your chargers?

    • Written by Jameelia S from Suffolk

I've had the same charger for nearly 5 years without any issues until now. The chord frayed in two places, but my computer and charger have been all over the place. The fact that it has managed to get me through so much including 3 years of me dragging it all over campus is beyond amazing as my first computer's charger barely lasted me a few months. I haven't had any issues with charging even with a frayed chord. The only reason I'm replacing it is for safety reasons.

The one star reviews are not warranted

    • Written by Isabelle G from Miami Lakes

I really don't understand why there are so many 1 star reviews on this charger! I have had a Macbook Air since 2014 and I got my current one in August 2017. I have been using the same charger this whole time (around 5 years because the same charger is compatible with both of my Macbook Airs) and it only just started to fray. The only thing that is annoying is that because the charger is magnetic it is constantly getting disconnected by any little thing. I have 2 dogs so this happens all the time! It's not that big of a deal though and it's easy to transport in my backpack for school. It's a good charger in my opinion. Also, I used to have a Dell laptop and that charger only lasted a year. In comparison, this is a really good charger.
