    My second tv adapter

    • Written by Jujhar S from Gravesend

This is the second time I bought this. My first adapter was broken due to ageing of the material as I bought this over three years ago. Works really well with Tvs as long as it have a HDMI port. Don’t buy any other alternative ones. This is the best one accessory in a decade.

    GREAT device!

    • Written by Ryan A from Tishomingo

Odd to see so many bad reviews. I bought mine last year and it's worked GREAT ever since... and I have an old TV (2010 Vizio). The only negative is the price, but that's Apple for ya! It's a must buy if you have an iPhone.

    Works as Advertised (Out-of-Box Review)

    • Written by William M from Easton

I read many negative reviews of this product, and so purchased it with some reluctance. However, out of the box it seems to work exactly as advertised, with no teething issues. That said, I am using the adapter only to mirror my iPhone 8 onto a monitor for work, while my computer is being repaired off-site. I am not trying to stream content from Netflix and the like, which seems to be where many of the reviewers are running into problems.

In fact, I am writing this review using my iPhone, a Bluetooth keyboard and an HP 25” monitor that is connected to the iPhone using the adapter. It’s a pretty sweet setup, and gives me just about the same functionality as my Lenovo E470 laptop, with some compromises I can live with.

    Works great

    • Written by Michael M from Lebanon

When I first tried to use the adapter, my TV saw no input source. Then I plugged in the power cable into the AV adapter, and presto! Evidently, the adapter needs more power than my iPad can furnish. I watched an hour long YouTube video. I hope it will play Amazon Prime movies.

Idk what everyone else is talking about!?!?!?

    • Written by Alexander M from Hutto

I’ve had a iPhone 5, 7+ and now the XS Max and my digital av adaptor has always worked perfectly fine, including after every update. Sometimes the picture will stop working however not because of the cord, but the settings with the streaming engine or your settings on the phone of app accessibility. Also it does not need to be plugged from the lightning port to a power supply for it to work, only if you want your device to charge as it plays. I can’t comment on iPads but with iPhones, for my girlfriend and I, it has always worked to my expectations.

Sometimes you need to get HDMI from the iPad to a TV and this does exactly that.

    It just works‼️ 😁

    • Written by Brian D from Hatboro

I purchased this cable a few months ago to watch movies that I had purchased from the iTunes Store.
I was concerned about the quality based on the sheer number of negative reviews, however I can report that this cable works perfectly.
I plan on purchasing ALLOT more movies from the iTunes Store real soon.

Digital AV adaptor works on iPhone7Plus

    • Written by Frederic B H from Montreal

I have been using the Lightning Digital AV adapter with my iPhone7Plus connected to an NEC N770 digital projector, and my adaptor works great. I am use it to teach classes on how to use their smartphone settings, and both the video and audio have worked fine.

When I first plugged it in, I had no signal. To see a video signal, I had to enter my password on my iPhone 7Plus. Once I did that, the home screen came up.

I use my iPhone to demo the Snapseed photo app and FilmicPro video app - works fine, with no interruptions.

To others treading this who are having issues, if you’re feeding a monitor or TV via HDMI cable, make sure you have the monitor setup for the right type of signal, that is 1080p HD format. Feeding into a 4k TV will produce a smaller image, unless you have the television set to auto fit, or auto scale (check your tv menu settings- under advanced).

For others having interruption of videos, or their stopping all together, you may have a wifi issue in your home. I upgraded my wifi to 5 gigbyte transmission, and changed the frequency, and that solved the issue of not being able to stream smoothly onto my home monitor.

I have been using my adapter for one month. I am using IOS 12.1 and have not upgraded to the latest. Having read the horror stories above, I will wait until after I have finished my lectures in April before upgrading!

Cheers! Frederic in Montreal

    Works w/ No Problems

    • Written by Eric M from Commerce City

Just got this today, 1/9/2019, and plugged in the power/hdmi to the adapter, then to my ipad. My ipad (2nd gen 12.9" on iOS 12.1.1) recognized it and displayed to my monitor and TV with no issues at all.

    Works perfectly as announced

    • Written by Ahmed Y from cairo

I was hesitant to buy this adapter at the begining because of a lot of a bad reviews but I went through and baught it.

The adapter works like a charm and as announced, it mirror everything on the screen and broadcasts Netflix as well as youtube and the movies on my apple devices

I tested it on iPhoneX (IOS 12.1.2) and my Ipad pro 10.5” (IOS 12.1.1)

There is no lag in the transmitted videos and audio and video works perfectly. There is no need for the power cable to be plugged in (it is optional and the adapter works fine without it)

Don’t try and buy cheap knockouts that need to be charged (they will just ruin your battery on your device and will never work like the genuine part from apple (although it is pricey, but worth it)

I wanted to share my opinion since there is alot of biased opinioned against this adapter and they are false

    Works for me!

    • Written by Lyle G from Spanish Fork

This device (ours is a Model A1438) works with every iOS device (iPhones, iPads) and every video output device (TVs, monitors, projectors) we've ever tried it on, for years. The latest iOS I'm using is 12.1, with no problems. Video is clear, sounds comes through great.

You don't need to plug a power source in to the Lightning jack; it works fine just plugged into the iOS device with an HDMI cable plugged in to it. That's an advantage over many other such adapters.

    • Written by Hans-Peter H from Schkopau

Lightning to HDMI connector worked fine only one time lately iPad to HDMI2 of Samsung 4K TV. Don‘t know wether there OS12 been installed already. But now with OS12.1 . This is disappointing like the shadow memory used by fotos which don’t exist. A stale fun of Apple since my first Mac Bookk I am not amused. Bettered to worst thinkable. When Apple would know what clients need! (Hope for understanding- I am German) Five Stars if it worked. I think it’s no fault of the Producer of my device

    Works perfectly fine!

    • Written by Frank C from Markham

I couldn't resist wasting my time too, but I needed to post this after reading so much 'cr_p'!

I don't know why people have to take the time and effort to come here and write so many negative comments if they don't know how to use something or if it doesn't work as they wanted. First of all, Apple has a return policy and they could go back and get their money within 15 days which is long enough to know if they're happy with whatever they bought. After reading so many bad reviews from people who obviously have nothing to do but waste their time writing and posting instead of just going to get their money back or accept it if it's past that time (as if they're going to save everyone else by telling them "it's not a good product")..
I didn't believe them so I went and purchased this product only find that it works perfectly fine and I"m using the device that they said was not working at all... I'm using a iPhone Xs Max with the newest iOS. When I connect it to my 60" screen, it instantly shows up and with perfect sound too.

Oh well, thanks for your negative BS reviews.

Go buy this product and bring it home and connect it. I'm sure it will work for you perfectly. If it doesn't, don't waste your time posting BS, just go back to the store and get your money back.
