    Simple

    • Written by Michael M from Uniontown

I truly appreciate the features of this case. Antenna, fits my hand very well, iOS integration, the charcoal gray goes well with my space gray 6s, single cable charging, no audio interference, easy on easy off are some of favorite features.

What I don't like is the price, no disclosure on tech specs such as HOW the case functions and dimensions/weight, omission of 3.5mm dongle, and it seems that it could be a hair lighter.

There are many options for battery cases, but the Apple case won out due its simplicity and form factor. As to the aesthetics...you like it or you don't. I like it quite a bit. This would be a 5 star product if the price was a little lower or if there was a little more value in the form of an additional cable or 3.5mm dongle.

Better than I thought it would be

    • Written by Richard B from West New York

When I bought my iPhone 6S, I decided to get this case instead of another Mophie case like I had been using. It works as advertised so far, and I haven't experienced any major negatives. I have noticed that the case where the volume buttons are doesn't fit quite right, which suggests the tolerances on the QC side aren't up to par yet. Having oily skin, I find myself having to constantly clean the case as it is a fingerprint magnet, but it's not a huge deal.

Overall, I'm happy with the case, though I do wish it had an on/off switch.

One last note: I'm disturbed by users' comments that seek to discount other users who have experienced issues with their battery cases. Just because some of us have no problems does not mean that others aren't experiencing issues. We should keep that in mind before we tacitly call other people liars without knowing anything about their experiences.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Works great; a little grippy on pocket entry and exit

    • Written by Adam P from Reservoir

TL;DR - iPhone too slippery, case too grippery.

I hate permanent iPhone cases of any description. What's the point of spending millions of dollars and hours designing a thin beautiful object, admiring it for 5 minutes and then shoving it into a plastic box that makes it many times thicker and less pretty?

For my first 6 years of iPhone ownership I never used a case, preferring to bask in the beauty of the 3G and 4S design. Then I got the iPhone 6 which was beautifully smooth but acted more like a wet bar of soap than a handheld piece of electronic genius should. And no, before you say anything, the camera wasn't enough of a protrusion to make a difference.

So, I swallowed my purist pride and got a QuadLock case - at least if I had to have a case I'd get something practical that worked on an armband, bike and car mount (and a bonus - it was designed in my home town of Melbourne). It added the right amount of grip, protection, and heaps of practicality.

I travel overseas a lot and use my iPhone heaps more while away, so a battery case was in order for my trips. Although aesthetically unusual, I could see the practical benefits of the Apple Battery Case design. Sliding the phone in and out of the case doesn't feel like you're going to snap the case or a break a piece off the phone as some single piece cases do (QuadLock included).

The only criticism I have is the amount of grip from the rubbery body. It's great in my hand but a bugger to get in and out of my pocket - which I do so many times per day that I just realised I may have some dependancy issues. Maybe it's because I tend to wear tight stretch jeans (another life choice to ponder), but I'm often turning the pocket lining out with the phone, and sometimes my wallet along with it. So, the iPhone 6 has gone from too slippy to too grippy. Maybe the iPhone 8 will be a bit thicker with a bigger battery and some grippy elements so I can enjoy the original design of the phone without the need for a case to make it stay in my hand and last a little longer.

    Form Follows Function Follows Form

    • Written by Geoffrey S from Everett

This battery case is a keeper. It does two things very well: protects the phone, and extends how long you can go before needing to charge.

I really like the order it works: When you put the case on your phone, if your phone is not at 100%, it will top up your phone. Then your phone will use power from the case until it's at 0%. Finally, your phone will switch to using its internal battery. What this means is a) you can remove the case for the rest of the day once it has been drained (if you have an alternate case you like to use, such as the spiffy leather case)... and b) your iPhone's internal battery will see less cycling, making it last longer.

The reverse is true come charging time. Your phone is charged up first, then the case. Apple must have debated about this internally, but the priority is on freeing you from worrying about making it through the day, and you can swap to a lighter case for your evening out, if so desired. You can also just leave the battery case on the phone all the time and not think about it.

The integrated Lightning connector does pass data / audio just fine, as my car was able to treat the phone like an iPod just as normal. I played Apple Music without a problem.

The speaker and mic ports work just fine and helpfully direct sound out the front of the phone. I measure no difference in cell phone reception with the battery case, either.

Oh, the hump? Well, maybe it looks jarring in photos. In real life, my phone is laying face up on my desk. The hump makes the phone look like it is magically floating. Practically, it is easier to pick up, and if a cup of coffee were spilled, the phone is literally above it all.

Why knock a star? The headphone port cannot accommodate my Bose QC20i ear buds. I will need an extender. Too bad Apple couldn't figure out a way to either extend the headset jack or provide a new one from the Lightning connector. Even better would be to have the QC20i use Lightning for audio and power, but that's wish for another day.

    Surprisingly good.

    • Written by Paul M from Lee on the Solent

Right, don't be put off by the bad hype. I made that mistake but after trying one for size in my local store and realising how much easier than the others it is, I took the plunge. Sure, it's a little subjective in design but it's simpler than any of the other cases to fit, doesn't require a 5 minute build and almost doubles my phone battery. I'm impressed, I'm sure you will be. Oh, and it makes the phone more substantial to grip and is considerably cheaper than the other in-store battery cases.....

    Great Case

    • Written by Sharon M. C from Chicago

My experience is very different than a lot of people who are writing these reviews. I love my case. First of all, it doubles
the battery life of my phone. I bought it when I was in Geneva, Switzerland because there's nothing worse than getting off a plane and having a dead phone. Second, it protects the phone from damage and is equally good - or better- than less functional cases.
Finally, it gives the phone a unique look and people are always asking me where I got it. I've had it for 2 years. It doesn't drain my battery, it is not peeling, it is easy to charge, and it works today as the day I bought it.

    So far so good

    • Written by Joe W from Clarkston

This would be 5 stars for me at $69.99-$79.99 price point.

    Pros:
    - Good Grip (won't slip from your hands)
    - Lightning pass through (no Micro USB like most cases to charge it)
    - Speaker moved to front of phone. I love this because it was one of the things I do not like about the iPhone. When the speaker is on bottom sometimes it's hard to hear since I am a little hard of hearing.
    Cons:
    - Price is a little high
    - The material collects lints, dirt and hair from your pocket leaving it impossible to keep nice looking if you put in your pocket.
    - Not able to use a lot of headphones due to not having an adapter (not a big deal to me).

Great for Battery Life, but A Few Downsides

    • Written by Tamar S from Toronto

It's a good product. If you're the kind of person who is on the go and can't be bothered with external batteries, this case will definitely do the trick.
You put the case on your phone and the phone uses the battery from the case before it uses the actual phone battery. I use my phone on high brightness quite frequently starting at 8am, and the case battery will die at about 7pm, at which point my phone battery will start being used.
So essentially it is at 100% for the whole workday, and then it starts to go down in the evening. My phone will not die before midnight. In terms of pure battery life, it's great.
    Downsides:
-Silicone case sticks to clothing making sliding in and out of pocket annoying
-Heavy; feels like carrying double the weight of an iPhone 6
-No on/off feature, which means your phone is always fully charged when the case is on. I worry that this is making my phone battery worse by overcharging. Time will tell...

Good battery case not great protection

    • Written by Ryan C from flower mound

If you are looking to extend your battery life this will be awesome for you. I have had mine for about 3 months with no issues with my phone lasting all day. I am a very heavy data and phone user for my job. This case will last me until 8 at night on a single charge. I really don't know when I would need more battery life than that. My day starts at 5 and ends around 6 to 7 every day and if I know I will be out longer I can charge it for around 30 minutes and I'm good the rest of the night. I charge it every night so it's full in the morning. I use Bluetooth, location services, and run all kind of apps and music through out my day. On the protection side this is my only complaint. Not great, it really does not protect as well as some of the other cases on the market. I used the otter box extended battery case and it was great. The only problem is that the charge port stopped working after 9 months. The case also cracked along the speaker part. With that said you had to carry a adapter to use the 2.5 jack, and you did not have access to the lighting port. I never had a issue protecting my phone with it like I did with the apple case. Having my phone 2 years with out ever replacing a screen, and having phones for the past 20 years I never have had cracked a screen. This was my first time to have a cracked screen after switching to the apple case. It was a very small crack but I have never worried about this because I have always had a case like life proof or otterbox. This might have been a limited situation but it's hard for me to give it 5 stars because of this one issue I have had.

It could use a few design tweaks but overall it works great!

    • Written by Kenneth W from Rochester Hills

The case is very convenient to use and greatly increases the battery life of the phone over the course of a day. I also really like that it uses a non recessed lightning port to charge the case meaning it works with all of your existing lightning cords and the Apple Lightning Dock. The only things I can say I don't like are A: you can pretty much only use Apple's EarPods with this case on your phone as the headphone jack opening on the case is super narrow. B: You can't turn the case off, it is always charging your phone... I just feel paranoid about my phone trickle charging all day long C: And probably my biggest complaint is the rubber they used to make the outside of the case wears out quickly. When you first get the case it has a nice soft matte rubber texture but after only about a week of sliding the case in and out of a pocket the rubber finish wears down to a slick shiny texture that is not as easy to grip and feels much cheaper.

    Functional, though lacking in aesthetics

    • Written by Jean-Louis B from Port Arthur

I love the case. I see negative reviews that it stopped charging. I've had this happen once. I forced the phone to reset, and then it charged again. I can't explain it, but I recommend doing this. Since then, the battery has been fine. Same charging outlet as phone as nice, and no need for earbuds dongle is nice too.

Overall, this is currently my favorite, but the hunchback style does leave a bit to be desired. And I wish the charge lasted longer while the phone is awake.

No longer am I range anxious!

    • Written by Alan H from Orpington

This is a great compliment to the iPhone 6. Essentially I finish a 14 hour day with my phone still showing 100% battery remaining, and the case only just needing to be charged. I used to get anxious about using the phone at the end of the day in case I ran out of battery, but those days are gone. It makes the phone heavier of course, but not too heavy, and frankly, easier to handle with the rubbery surface.

My phone is now over a year old and the battery has started to lose its charge quicker than previously, and also its lightning connection is a bit looser than it was, so this smart battery case addresses both issues. You charge both phone and case with one lightning connection on the base of the case.

My only negative is that it attracts the dust like a Dyson made of Blu-Tak, but I can live with that with regular cleanings. Four stars - ONLY marked down one star for its Pig Pen dust attraction - this really is a super bit of kit with signature Apple iOS integration to show relative charging levels.

Love except for this one thing...

    • Written by Kate E from Jacksonville

Really pleased with this case overall. Here's my breakdown and a little about me and my regular phone usage/wear and tear.

Case size/bulk: Before ordering this case I read many reviews as I was concerned about the bulk of the case (not just this case in general but all external battery cases.) After reading many that it's actually a rather pleasing design to hold I went ahead and took the plunge. I'm a rather petit girl at only 5'1"- the importance of telling you this is that I have very small hands. At first when I put the case on I found it to be rather heavy, but after only a few hours of use I now also agree that the design is very pleasing to hold

Battery life: I'm your typical 22 year old, meaning I spend way too much time on social media. I've found the cases battery life lasted much longer than I had even expected and that's before dipping into the phones actual charge.

Ruggedness: Once again being that my phone is in my hand I have a tendency to drop it more often than others. This is where the cases only fault for me lies. Upon one drop (probably about 4ft off the ground) the case lost chunks of the outer silicon. After using the same $35 case for over a year and it showing less damage than even a Lifeproof I had for 2 months did, I was very disappointed with how scuffed up this case got with one fall (literally on the second day of using the case). While I do not plan to walk with my phone in my hand anymore now, the scuffing is just something I wish I would've been aware of before using the case.

    Can't live without it

    • Written by Justin B from LONDON

Ok so this doesn't get 5 stars because let's face it the iPhone should have been made to last longer than my burrito bowl at lunchtime. - Life isn't perfect and we love our iPhones but hate the lamentable battery life. So along comes this large and fairly heavy battery thing. My wife bought it for my birthday. I put it on the phone and thought ' it's heavy as - forget it i'm going to exchange it for the nice tan leather case apple make'. But then I realised I'd already had 2 of those nice leather cases and they break and fall apart after only a few weeks. So i charged the phone and this case and thought let's try it out.

WOW. What can I say. A modern miracle! I can eat my burrito. Then have donuts at 3pm. And my iPhone 6 is still going. I'm still rocking a hefty charge! Then chicken and rice for dinner (because i'm into bodybuilding) and unbelievable. The iPhone is refusing to go to sleep.

So what can I say. It's a great accessory and you won't worry about charging your iPhone during the day, ever.

    But, but..that hump?...

    • Written by Tyler L from Cincinnati

I saw the videos, 'hump gate' as many tech reviewers called it, how could Apple release something sooo ugly? Well, i'm here to tell you, it's actually.....not that bad? No, really! Seeing and feeling the thing in person really puts into perspective how tech reviewers overreact to get those extra clicks. I love the way it feels in hand, has one of the slimmest, if not the slimmest profile for a battery case, and integrates wonderfully with ios 9. Yes, it adds some bulk, but i'll take this ANY DAY over owning a 6s plus for the battery life. I found the 6s plus way too big for my liking, so this battery case was a godsend. My honest opinion is to try it in store if you live close to one, if not, go ahead and purchase it, it's probably your best bet in the batter case category.

    Good but room for improvement

    • Written by Nick M from PITTSBURGH

I bought the case today. It seems solidly built, has held a good charge despite heavy use, is easy to put on/take off. It could do with a little more battery capacity, comparing it to the numbers put out by other brands. But I like that it's a litte more integrated than the others - the on-screen battery percentage for one, the lightning port for another. I do wish the battery icon on the top of the screen was integrated - it's pointless to show me 100% all the time, but then I have to go to Notifications to see what the REAL numbers are. The covering is good and grippy, which is great except when I want to take it out of my pocket. I think with a software update, it could be a really solid product.

The only bad thing is that It's gets stuck in my hair because I have long hair and the case has a weird feel on the outside of it .. other than that I do love the charger case because it's an apple product and I can use the same iPhone charger and it does help to have extra charge through out the day
