This case is a life saver. I can use my phone all day and still have power to spare at the end. There are no switches to turn on and off. It's simply trouble free. It's smooth to touch and sleekly designed. And it plugs in using the lightening cord. I used a Mophie before which was a disaster. The case fell apart. The connection needed its own cord and the battery power didn't last.
Typical to Apple, they wait until a product can be designed and produced well before putting it on the market.
I have been using it for over a year now and it has held up very well.
I would recommend this to everyone.

bought this case for $100. I was very happy the first month I had it. After that month I would charge it all night and my phone would die in an hour. This is the worst $100 dollars ive ever spent in my life. very upset and in disgrace. DONT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY IT!!

    Love It

I wanted one of these, but bought an aftermarket one instead because it was cheaper and had a bit more battery storage capacity. Bad decision. It came apart when I was installing it. This battery case has sufficient power, provides good protection, and works as advertised. Just what you would expect from a genuine Apple product.

    Battery killer

    • Written by Niels B from Abcoude

At first I found it to be the best product ever, however now, after using it for a while, it has destroyed the original battery (due to the continous charging) leaving me still with just one battery of this battery case. Great idea, however longer term not a great choice. Needs some more innovation to make it work.

Battery on this phone is the worst I've encountered. I'm on power save and I've lost 4% typing this. Apple product is trash!

    Excellent in many ways

    • Written by Angela R from Dum Dum

Bought this battery pack about 9 months ago with my first iphone because I was frustrated with my previous smart phones running out of power when travelling. This battery case more than doubles the usable time. The case can also be charged seperately which is handy. It is significantly heavier than other protective cases, but I quite like the more solid feel in my hand and pocket - it won't slip out. Chose black because I thought the white might get dirty. However when my husband upgraded his iphone a few months later, we bought a white battery pack so it would be easier to tell the phones appart. The white does not get dirty at all. We can swap cases if one of us has forgotten to charge up. I love the way you can charge the case and phone in one hit, and that the phone displays charging status of both.
I'm hoping that the skin feel coating will not break down and go tacky in a year like every other piece of equipment (not Apple)I have owned, with similar coating did. The only thing to keep in mind is the extra thickness of the case means that some plugs don't fit: eg, a non Apple lightning plug and Bose head phone jacks which are L shaped.

    IPhone battery case

    • Written by John C from Gillingham

Excellent piece of equipment. The case keeps the phone at 100% and slowly drains the case. I use my phone quite heavily and have no concerns at being powered throughout the day. The fact that the standard headphone works without an extender and the lightening charge cable is standard is a bonus. The case is nice to handle, the battery lump is not an issue, I should have bought this a long time ago. Swipe down shows the state of both batteries at a glance.

I understand that unless a battery case is approved and tested by apple there is a risk of the phone battery being fried! That was from a repairer who has seem many a ruined phone.

    Poor quality

    • Written by Panda B from Sta.Rosa

at first when i first got it i say woah the surface is smooth then after 2 weeks the silicone starts to peel off in every 4 corners then it became very stick y when im using it but when i don't use it for about 30 minutes it becomes oily im sick of it when i put it down i always put the phone with the screen facing down the table just to save the case from absorbing all the lints! sick of it. very time it absorbs lint. besides the case is hard to clean. and removing lint is like removing a dirt from a scotch tape and this product doesn't deserve its price. besides the case discharging so fast like i'm not using it but it discharged 10% the whole night and the material too is so poor its peels of each of the four corner. everytime i look at it it feels that this case is just a cheap one!

    Amazing case

    • Written by kaloyan R from van Nuys

The case really saves my life. It is compatible with the iphone and it honestly gives me so much battery. Plenty is the right word.
Now the only issue with the case is that it makes my phone a bit bulky which is expected. The white color which I own kind of turned yellowish but after a nice cleaning with solution it goes back to white. I suggest sticking to the black if you do not want to clean it once a month.
I wish apple makes a case that is slimmer in size but still contains some juice/battery which will make my life heaven.

    Love it....but gets dirty

    • Written by Ronald B from Castle Rock

I got a case for my iPhone 6s in the color white. The first day it was clean and very useful and charged perfectly. But, it is the third day I have had it and it already is dirty! We tried Mr.Clean, water, soap and nothing came off. I would recommend to get the color charcoal grey. It got all dirty from the oils in my skin. I still love the battery part and it is good material, and not too heavy

Work ok but better cases out there

    • Written by Jamie P from Toledo

I like how thin this case is compared to a lot of other battery phone cases and also like that you can use the lightening cable to charge it, one less cable to carry with me when I travel.

But I would recommend researching cheaper cases. Even though the cases may be a little bulkier and require a different cable, you'll get a lot more battery life out of it unless you are using the phone non stop.

Biggest thing I hate about this case is there is no on/off switch. It continually charges the phone 24/7. The other cases I've used you can turn the case off and only turn it on when the battery life is low. Sometimes I'll go a couple hours without using my phone but the case continues to charge it non-stop draining the battery in the case for when I actually need it. If I'm not using the phone until later in the day and draining the battery then I would like the case reserve to charge the battery then. If they aren't going to have an on/off switch then they need to design the case so that it won't charge the phone if the phone is 100% charged.

Another issue I have with this case that it doesn't always charge. Sometimes I have to take the phone out of the case and reinsert it to get the case to charge right.

As others have mentioned the headphones won't work in this case without an extender. I have an extender that fits this case from my previous battery case but for the price of this case the extender should be an included accessory.

I'd recommend buying the lifeproof battery case over this one. You can get it for less money than the apple case costs, you'll get a more extended battery life since it has an on/off switch as well as a headphone jack extender and it will also waterproof your phone

    Perfect for me

    • Written by Michael O from Toronto

I read all of the reviews and still purchased this smart case. I love it.

    1) Looks: I don't find the case ugly. See it in person before you judge. The bump is much more subtle than the pictures. The case feels great in everyday use.
    2) Material: The case is so soft and comfortable, I can handle the small amounts of lint it attracts.
    3) Battery: I am notorious for having a dying phone. No more! Case battery by day, phone battery by night, no charge required. (Not even close to dying from 7am to 2am)
    4) Apple ecosystem: I would never use a case that does not use a lightning cable. This is my first battery case. Super easy, convenient.
    5) Weight: Again, try it. You'll love it or you won't. I like the weight.

Conclusion: I understand it's subjective, but I love it.

    Con: Price

Charger case gets stuck in my hair

    • Written by Geen H from OAK PARK

The only bad thing is that It's gets stuck in my hair because I have long hair and the case has a weird feel on the outside of it .. other than that I do love the charger case because it's an apple product and I can use the same iPhone charger and it does help to have extra charge through out the day

Better than I thought it would be

    • Written by Richard B from West New York

When I bought my iPhone 6S, I decided to get this case instead of another Mophie case like I had been using. It works as advertised so far, and I haven't experienced any major negatives. I have noticed that the case where the volume buttons are doesn't fit quite right, which suggests the tolerances on the QC side aren't up to par yet. Having oily skin, I find myself having to constantly clean the case as it is a fingerprint magnet, but it's not a huge deal.

Overall, I'm happy with the case, though I do wish it had an on/off switch.

One last note: I'm disturbed by users' comments that seek to discount other users who have experienced issues with their battery cases. Just because some of us have no problems does not mean that others aren't experiencing issues. We should keep that in mind before we tacitly call other people liars without knowing anything about their experiences.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Works great; a little grippy on pocket entry and exit

    • Written by Adam P from Reservoir

TL;DR - iPhone too slippery, case too grippery.

I hate permanent iPhone cases of any description. What's the point of spending millions of dollars and hours designing a thin beautiful object, admiring it for 5 minutes and then shoving it into a plastic box that makes it many times thicker and less pretty?

For my first 6 years of iPhone ownership I never used a case, preferring to bask in the beauty of the 3G and 4S design. Then I got the iPhone 6 which was beautifully smooth but acted more like a wet bar of soap than a handheld piece of electronic genius should. And no, before you say anything, the camera wasn't enough of a protrusion to make a difference.

So, I swallowed my purist pride and got a QuadLock case - at least if I had to have a case I'd get something practical that worked on an armband, bike and car mount (and a bonus - it was designed in my home town of Melbourne). It added the right amount of grip, protection, and heaps of practicality.

I travel overseas a lot and use my iPhone heaps more while away, so a battery case was in order for my trips. Although aesthetically unusual, I could see the practical benefits of the Apple Battery Case design. Sliding the phone in and out of the case doesn't feel like you're going to snap the case or a break a piece off the phone as some single piece cases do (QuadLock included).

The only criticism I have is the amount of grip from the rubbery body. It's great in my hand but a bugger to get in and out of my pocket - which I do so many times per day that I just realised I may have some dependancy issues. Maybe it's because I tend to wear tight stretch jeans (another life choice to ponder), but I'm often turning the pocket lining out with the phone, and sometimes my wallet along with it. So, the iPhone 6 has gone from too slippy to too grippy. Maybe the iPhone 8 will be a bit thicker with a bigger battery and some grippy elements so I can enjoy the original design of the phone without the need for a case to make it stay in my hand and last a little longer.

Good battery case not great protection

    • Written by Ryan C from flower mound

If you are looking to extend your battery life this will be awesome for you. I have had mine for about 3 months with no issues with my phone lasting all day. I am a very heavy data and phone user for my job. This case will last me until 8 at night on a single charge. I really don't know when I would need more battery life than that. My day starts at 5 and ends around 6 to 7 every day and if I know I will be out longer I can charge it for around 30 minutes and I'm good the rest of the night. I charge it every night so it's full in the morning. I use Bluetooth, location services, and run all kind of apps and music through out my day. On the protection side this is my only complaint. Not great, it really does not protect as well as some of the other cases on the market. I used the otter box extended battery case and it was great. The only problem is that the charge port stopped working after 9 months. The case also cracked along the speaker part. With that said you had to carry a adapter to use the 2.5 jack, and you did not have access to the lighting port. I never had a issue protecting my phone with it like I did with the apple case. Having my phone 2 years with out ever replacing a screen, and having phones for the past 20 years I never have had cracked a screen. This was my first time to have a cracked screen after switching to the apple case. It was a very small crack but I have never worried about this because I have always had a case like life proof or otterbox. This might have been a limited situation but it's hard for me to give it 5 stars because of this one issue I have had.

Now I have a broken phone

    • Written by Melissa B from Chicago

This phone does exactly what it promises, extends the life of your battery. But along with my extremely well charged phone, I now have a broken phone. The area between the battery and the top of the case is extremely flimsy and lax, so much so that the frame has bent on my phone causing the screen to pop off. This is a problem with the design due to the hard nature of the battery. Any stress on the phone is immediately transferred to the upper corner rather than being dispersed throughout. I now have a $299 fee to replace the phone in addition to the $99 I spent on the case. DO NOT BUY.
