    Headphone Jack Compatibility

    • Written by Tapojyoti S from Kolkata

If you are using a headphone with an L-shaped jack (for example, Bose) than you have to switch to a different brand with a straight jack (like Beats) or a bluetooth headphone.

    More Selection

    • Written by Daishaun C from Browns Mills

This case would be better if it was also offered for the iPhone 6/6s Plus. Even though the larger phones have larger battery and last longer a charging case would still be helpful to many iPhone users.

    Very Good Charger Case

    • Written by Chaz A

Very good product! Used it on whilst on a road trip, it helped my charge last for about 2 days straight! Wish it had an on/off switch though.

    Functional, though lacking in aesthetics

    • Written by Jean-Louis B from Port Arthur

I love the case. I see negative reviews that it stopped charging. I've had this happen once. I forced the phone to reset, and then it charged again. I can't explain it, but I recommend doing this. Since then, the battery has been fine. Same charging outlet as phone as nice, and no need for earbuds dongle is nice too.

Overall, this is currently my favorite, but the hunchback style does leave a bit to be desired. And I wish the charge lasted longer while the phone is awake.

Apple Battery dead for the secodn time in 6 months, now dead for good

    • Written by Pedro R from San Juan

Stopped charging, second time it happens in six months, but last time it starting charging again after a few days. Now at the 6 month mark is dead for good. Not worth the $110 I paid for it.

    Great at first

    • Written by Michael W from Glen Allen

I was excited about the Apple Smart Battery Case as it used the apple charging cord whereas my Mophie case needs a micro SD cord. Additionally the integration with the iPhone for the charge level on the battery was nice.
However, my excitement was short lived. The material the case is made out of is "sticky" and it clings to pockets. The phone would get stuck to the material in my pocket and eventually caused my iPhone to become bent. This was disappointing as I had the leather case and it did not stick to my pocket. Additionally, my mophie case is made of hard plastic, this also allowed the phone to slide easily within my pockets and prevented it from binding and bending.

It's too late for my phone, but hopefully not for yours. I would not recommend using the Smart Battery case if you put your phone in your pocket.
Get something that slides more easily.

I thought Apple was better than this.

    • Written by Barbara P from OKLAHOMA CITY

First of all--I've been an Apple customer for years purchasing several iPhones, the original iPod, and a couple of iPads thrown in for good measure. First I couldn't believe that when I upgraded to the iPhone 6S I would have battery problems. I thought they were solved way back when I was using my iPhone 4s. But I need a phone after 6pm at night so I invested the extra $99 for the iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case. I've had it about a week after receiving the Battery and I think that everything is honkey-dorey now. That is until I try to use my cord from the car phone to the Apple phone. The cord no longer fits the phone with the battery attached. I literally couldn't believe it. I checked the box again to see if there was an adapter in it to handle the cord. No luck. SO-I called Apple. I learned that the ear buds supplied by Apple fit it but if I want to listen to my iPhone music in the car I'd have to go to a local merchant and purchase an adapter. Purchase an ADAPTER? I thought Apple was better that this and if I were them I'd suggest they better start supplying the adapter with the battery when purchased. This snafu may be enough to have me seek my cell phones somewhere else next time I upgrade. So sorry Apple.

    Great product

    • Written by Andrew R from Litchfield Park

I was tempted not to get this case because of the design. But I am very happy with it. It fits comfortably in my hand and is not to bulky. The case helps keep my phone charged through the day. As I am writing this it is 3:43pm and the battery on the case is barely at 46%. Unlike other battery cases this is a high quality silicon, not plastic. As well as you do not have to change chargers. So you can keep using your lightning cable.

    Most of the way there

    • Written by Christian M from Billingshurst

    This case is pretty good.
It does exactly what you want - pretty much doubles the life of your iphone on the move.
It has some unexpected benefits - much nicer to hold than the (slippery) standard iPhone and the ios integration is handy.
It has a few issues - the corners of mine got rub damage pretty quickly and it's hardly what you'd call beautiful. Headphones are an issue. I now need an ugly jack extender for my Dr.Dre's when not using bluetooth.

After 6 months mine started to go wrong, most likely the pass-through lightning jack. However replacement was immediate and no hassle so I have no complaint.

Great for Battery Life, but A Few Downsides

    • Written by Tamar S from Toronto

It's a good product. If you're the kind of person who is on the go and can't be bothered with external batteries, this case will definitely do the trick.
You put the case on your phone and the phone uses the battery from the case before it uses the actual phone battery. I use my phone on high brightness quite frequently starting at 8am, and the case battery will die at about 7pm, at which point my phone battery will start being used.
So essentially it is at 100% for the whole workday, and then it starts to go down in the evening. My phone will not die before midnight. In terms of pure battery life, it's great.
-Silicone case sticks to clothing making sliding in and out of pocket annoying
-Heavy; feels like carrying double the weight of an iPhone 6
-No on/off feature, which means your phone is always fully charged when the case is on. I worry that this is making my phone battery worse by overcharging. Time will tell...

    Was wonderful...

    • Written by Bryan D from Cordova

I have enjoyed the case for about 6 months. It is lighter than others. I have had a few different ones and by far this one was the best for the first 6 months. Lately I have been plugging it in at night and waking up with the phone charged and the battery pack not. Also a huge issue is that the rubber on the case it tearing all around the edges and the back of the phone. Hopefully the next version will last longer and be more durable.

    Back to Square 1

    • Written by Andrew H from Bury

After having my iphone 6 for around a year, the inevitable happened. My battery began draining faster than a bath when you pull out the plug. Tired of seeing my precious battery wash down the drain day in day out, rendering my £630 iphone as useful as a chocolate teapot, I decided to purchase this case.
What a good decision that was.. for 6 months. At first I was enjoying days of no battery worries at all. I could make it through a full day and still be left with 100% battery. 7 months down the line however it's a completely different story. I feel as though I need a battery case for my battery case. The case is empty after 4 hours, leaving my phone, now worse than it already was due to the constant charging that this case subjects it to, to fend for its self. If i'm lucky i'll get 3 hours out of it.

I'm pretty sure I could have replaced the battery for less than what i bought the same for.. Don't buy!

    Wonderful especially when travelling

    • Written by Fady M Max A from Dublin 11

The main advantage of this case which everyone seem to criticise it is that it gets discharged before the iPhone battery does, why? if it just like any other power case recharges the phone, you would find in the battery life duration ONLY the iPhone' battery life but this way makes the duration + the charge in the case, wonderful and i love it especially when visiting a place for a day. AMAZING and worth every penny.

    Great Charge, but Poor Durability

    • Written by jarrett B from mattoon

I received this case for Christmas and have absolutely loved it until these past few months. The charge has lasted all day and the grip is heaven in your hands! Great texture and grip.

Unfortunately, the material is not holding up and is tearing all along my case. It started with a little rip and now the whole outter edge is peeling off and the top portion of the case is breaking away from the bottom. While the bottom portion is reinforced with plastic, the top is solely rubber (allows the phone to easily be taken in and out of the case).

Basically, I do not see this case lasting more than another few months and it is already quite unsightly for such an expensive accessory. I wish I could upload photos into the review, so that you could see the extent of the issue.

Maybe the next version will be longer lasting.

    Not Good...

    • Written by Robert S from Midland

Today, for the first time, my phone would not take a charge. I thought it was the charging cable or the little brick at the wall plug that malfunctioned and bought new ones.

When plugging those in to start the charging process, no reaction from the phone. OK, "let's reboot" I thought.

Well it dawned on me right then that the battery pack may be the culprit. I removed it from the phone and plugged in the charging cables (new and old) to the phone and the phone sprang to life. (I have yet to try to charge the supplemental battery on it's own.)

Like others posting here, my battery was purchased in January of 2016 and lasted six months.

My original perspective on this product has totally reversed. What was awesome and 5 stars when new is now a total rip-off and therefore gets only 1 star.

I am a person who is always on the go and using my phone and would always hate and be paranoid my phone would die when I am out and about. When i heard about the apple charging case i fell in love with it but didn't want to fork out the money. I then went to New York for a week and decided that i would be out everyday all day so i bought the case. I am in love with it, my phone stays at 100% from the time i wake up till around 5pm and then it goes from 100% and drops normally through the duration of the actual phone batter. I highly recommend this product. The weight is a big much but you get use to it.

It's extremely handy , especially if you need to be out for the whole day.

    • Written by Yvonne L from london

I have the iPhone 6s and the battery still runs out pretty quick, so when connecting it to my Apple Watch the battery died in less than 6 hours - which is terrible considering I'm usually out for about 8+ hours everyday. The only problem I have with the case is that I want to be able to put the case on without having the charge my phone whilst it isn't on a battery percentage lower than 20. When you put the case on it immediately charges it when not necessary. It means you have to bring two cases - unless of course there is a way to turn it off and on that I do not know about? Anyways it's a great product £79 is worth it and both apple and beats earphones can connect to it perfectly fine.
