    Useful & Reliable

    • Written by Jeremy A from Brooklyn

I've been using this cable with a small USB-C brick next to my nightstand for around 6 months and it's worked out great. I purchased this cable and power adapter because I have an iPad Pro 12" which charges substantially faster from the USB-C cable than a typical lightning charger. I chose the 2m cable so I could have my phone or iPad plugged in to charge while sitting in bed. The cable doesn't show any signs of strain, though I make a point to avoid twisting the end around too much.

Fast Charging, Long Lasting (with a little care)

    • Written by David S from Syracuse

I have had the 2m cable since the week it hit the shelves, I carry it in my bag every single day to work, and I use it to charge my devices no less than twice per week. I have never had a single problem with this cable or the USB-C 29W Power Adapter, and I cannot recommend this combination highly enough for anyone with an iPad Pro - the whole experience changes when you can charge it faster than you can drain it.

I have tried a lot of third party cables and they frequently form internal faults that prevent the device from holding a constant connection. Since I have had cables in the past crack and fray, I NEVER pack this cable while it is still connected to the 29W Adapter, and this simple disassembly seems to be enough to prevent problems.

This cable is so valuable to anyone with a more powerful device, and with a little care will last a long time. Absolutely worth $29!

No issues after almost a year

    • Written by Austin B from Rockfall

A lot of people are complaining about the quality of this cable. I bought mine some time in the fall of last year, and I've kept it curled up in my backpack, often in unsafe ways. I've run over it with my chair numerous times, and it still works just fine. I've even unplugged it by tugging halfway down the cord because I was too lazy to go unplug it properly. I've basically done everything they say not to do to keep cables in good condition, and this thing has held up despite having that same low quality feel all of Apple's stock cables have. I don't know what horrible things people have done to their cables to have them not last long enough, but 1 year of the bad treatment I've given my cable is enough that I wouldn't be mad if it broke soon (though it shows no sign of breaking). Of course now that I've said this, I'm sure it will break any day now just to spite me :P.

    Great cable for fast charging

    • Written by Mark B W from Hayward

    I absolutely LOVE this cable!

Definitely changes your usage experience when you can fast charge your iPad Pro, as opposed to charging it with the slow charger that is included with it.

I can now charge my 10.5" iPad Pro faster than I can drain it. Hallelujah! :D

    GREAT CABLE!

    • Written by Jeff Z from Bear

I've had this cable for 10 months and it works great! Not sure how others are having so much trouble with it. I used this cable to fast charge my iPhone XS MAX with an Anker PowerPort II since October 2018. Never had an issue. The cable isn't damaged nor have I damaged it. It WORKS!

    Worth the money

    • Written by John D from liverpool

Must have if you own an iPhone X and also a new MacBook which most importantly comes with the usb C wall power adapter. If not probably not worth the money buying the adapter too. Enables fast charging and it really is noticeable how much faster it is. Its brilliant.

    True quick charge

    • Written by Christopher H from Houston

I have used many cables over 2 years with my IPad 10.5 pro. Before I bought this cable I tried others that did not deliver. I have had this cable about a year. I put stress protectors on both ends. I clean the cable connectors with electrical cleaner. I clean and cover the lightning port. As I write this review I am using this old cable. To this day, this cable charges my tablet at about 1% per minute While I Use the Tablet. I do keep the display below half it charges faster. You may think the cable is expensive, I will say I have spent much more on the multiple back up cables that are long gone. That’s why I am buying a second one. It’s cheaper in the long run rather than the frustration of lesser quality cables. I include the cheaper Apple cables as well. In order to get True Quick Charge you Must use a high watt charger with USB C and an Apple Quick Charge cable. My iPad requires a 29w charger. I can truly say I have never been sorry. I just love watching the % go up as I use the tablet. It has charged 10% as I’m writing this review, and again this cable is a year old

    Pricey but nice...

    • Written by Lucas K from SAN DIEGO

I have purchased both the 1m & 2m. I’ve been using this for my iPad Pro 10.5” (2nd gen), iPhone X and iPhone XS Max. Worth the additional money to enable the “quick charge” capabilities (when used with the 18w). So far, no issues with the cord at all. I’ve been using the 2m “USB to Lighting” cables since 2017 timeframe, no issues at all with those. This USB-C to Lighting cable feels more durable than those and pose a great longevity. I recommend this if you have an iPad or iPhone that has the fast charge capabilities. Far superior than the slow 5w & 1m cord it comes with.

    Nice cable.

    • Written by Ruben M from Yerevan

This is a nice cable, no doubt. There are only 2 issues for me. One is that it's kind of pricey for a 2 meter cable. I see a lot of people saying they can get 3 for the same price from others, but I would still trust Apple and get their product for safety. The second kind of issue is the quality. To be honest, I've seen people use their lightning cables. They just put the end on a hard surface, while browsing on their phone, which obviously is going to rip the rubber. Be realistic, if you just put your phone to charge on the desk, or maybe use in your hand without rotating and playing with the rubber around the end, nothing's going to happen realistically. Still, they have to work on their cables to make it more resistant.

    Fast Charging iPhone X

    • Written by Ryan K from Washington

I recently bought this cable along with the Apple 29W charging adapter, the combination of which I'm using to charge my iPhone X. My experience is that this combo will charge the iPhone X about 30% in 30 minutes (going from 50% to 80%). The claim is that this combo will charge 50% in 30 minutes, but those tests were testing going from 0% to 50%. I know from experience that iPhones charge more quickly when the battery is almost dead, so that may be accurate.

Overall I'm happy with the (albeit expensive) purchase. I decided to get one fast charger for my home and have a slew of regular chargers floating around. Occasionally I need to charge quickly between coming home and leaving again, so this will work well for that purpose.

    Does the job. Premium price.

    • Written by Phil H from Reigate

Useful if connecting from MacBook (USB-C) to iPhone or iPad. Bought predominantly for fast-charge of iPhone 8/X using 29W MacBook adapter. Yes it's expensive & as with all Apple cables, if you look after them, they last. You might find genuine ones sold from Apple, fulfilled by Amazon from the Amazon website. 4/5 purely because of price.

    Pricey

    • Written by Jordan E from Birmingham

If you thought your wallet could finally get a breather after forking out £919 for your new iPad, you were wrong. The supplied charger is abysmally slow with it taking up to 7 hours to charge while the iPad is in light use. You have to spend another £85 to get this cable along with the USB Type C charger - albeit, it does the job well. Now to spend nearly £300 more on the first party keyboard case and Pencil :0

Lightning plug broke after a few months

    • Written by Ali S from Manchester

I purchased this cable to charge my iphone X faster than the standard USB > lightning cables. I usually keep the cable and power brick plugged into my kitchen island outlet and am very careful with my electronics/accessories. Recently I plugged my phone in and noticed it wasn't charging. I tried several outlets before I realized the lightning "tab" (for lack of a better term) is wobbly in the cable housing. Something is definitely broken and no amount of cable-fu has fixed it. I'm going to need a new one, but they're so expensive. This shouldn't happen after only 4-5 months of light use. This is the first time I've had problems with an Apple cable of any type, and needless to say I'm rather disappointed.

$35 cable that only lasted 6 months

    • Written by Jeremy H from Hampton

The worst part of the cable breaking is that the cable didn't even tear on the outside, it just stopped working. About to go see if warranty will cover this. But still a let down regardless.

Otherwise, excellent cable. The speed at which it could charge your Iphone was seriously impressive. Just a shame that it's not immune to breaking easily like the rest of Apples cables.

    How is this $35

    • Written by Cody R from Portland

I am honestly that guy that defends Apple in almost everything they do. I love the design of their products and they add a lot of value to my life, and at this point I’m shoulder-deep in their ecosystem.

But how can they possibly justify attaching a $35 price tag to this cable????

It does feel slightyyy chunkier than the USB-A > Lightning cable (2m) that I have, so that’s nice. Maybe this one will last me longer than a year before strain relief damage splits the sheathing... maybe not. (I wish I had a pair of calipers to measure, but the diameter increase seems to be just a fraction of a millimeter.) But I’m only buying one because I recently upgraded my iPad Pro, so I now carry a USB-C power brick around with me everywhere I go and want to be able to charge my iPhone with it. This is been my solution for years – I certainly don’t want to carry 2 chargers with me everywhere. It’s bad enough that I just had to buy this cable because the iPhones have not yet made the transition to USB-C (I’m assuming they will this year).

So anyway I know that there are inevitable growing pains when transitioning from one I/O standard to another, and it makes sense that some products would be first to adopt the change, what with independent product-release cycles and all. But at $35, it’s like I’m being punished for dropping the thousand dollars to upgrade my iPad. I don’t understand why they aren’t trying to help out people like me that are caught in the awkward middle ground as Apple goes about staggering USB-C introduction in their product line. Instead they clearly see this as an opportunity to profit off a $35 cable.

I mean honestly the profit margin must be gargantuan.

    Poor quality but necessary purchase

    • Written by Zach M from Chesapeake

The quality of this cable is lacking. The problem is when you use a high wattage USB C outlet charger, there are no other cables on the market that can handle the high-speed charging. With this cable and the Anker 30W USB C charger, my phone charges 50-60% in 30 minutes. Purchasing other USB C cables on Amazon, I get nowhere near the same results. I just wish that Apple’s product was more robust.
