    worst waste of money

    • Written by Nate B from Dundee

i have owned 2 of these already and my second one just broke. i was using a wipe(the wipe said it can clean pc screens and keybords) to clean the keybord. after i cleaned all the food stains on it i go to use it and its doing random things like activating caps lock on its own and other things. i even tried turning the keybord off and on and so as the computer and still its not working. dont buy this junk because ive spent $198 on this 2 of these keybords and both broke. just go buy one off of amazon for way cheaper than this garbage. trust me, you wont regret it.

    Almost unusable

    • Written by Warren M from New Boston

I must preface by saying that I am not used to laptop keyboards. This keyboard is so small and cramped that I have to look at it while I'm typing....and I am a fast touch typist on a regular size keyboard. I substituted a full size Logitech bluetooth keyboard and was very happy with that, but ran into compatibility issues with some apps, so I'm back to the "magic" keyboard, which I now view as a torture device. Hoping I'll get used to it at some point. Apple hardware isn't cheap; why must they skimp like this?

    I hate when it disconnects!!

    • Written by Rebekah F from Houston

It's alright but it's worse when it decides it does not want to connect via bluetooth!! I restarted my iMac 4 times and it still wouldn't connect, I don't own an iPhone so I couldn't find any cables to connect it so I wasted more than an hour of my morning trying to get it to work. If you value your time do not get this product!! Wasting my time -________-

    Such a disappointment

    • Written by Bronwyn L from Selkirk

This keyboard works less than half of the time that I need to use it. In fact, I’m typing using the screen for this review because I spent several minutes unsuccessfully trying to get it to work. Since I bought it, I have had it work only sporadically. I was quite disappointed in the keyboard when I first bought it, so I went to bring it back. At the Apple store, I explained the issue with the keyboard - the apple rep was kind and understanding at first. I showed him the non-functioning keyboard. He then disconnected it, reconnected it and it worked fine (this is how I get it to work..sometimes it takes many tries of reconnecting it). So the technician tells me he doesn’t see anything wrong with it, makes me feel silly as I had asked to return it, he responded with that it seems to work fine though. So I walked out of the store with my malfunctioning keyboard and still have been dealing with issues ever since. So, my only suggestion to anyone considering to buy this keyboard is DON’T.

    I love this keyboard!

    • Written by Patricia O from Milpitas

I didn't like it at first but since it came with my computer I very easily became use to it, in fact, I no longer like the feel of other keyboards. My only problem was that it didn't have a number keyboard on the right. I have ordered my second one since my first one is dying after 8yrs.

    Good looking but that's it

    • Written by Hanze L from Irvine

So overall this keyboard is not recommended.
-> The design is elegant and the keys feel good. Also it's very light so it's easy to carry. Respond speed and battery life are good.
-> HOWEVER, if you wanna buy it plz keep your receipt and test every key right after you get it. My keyboard has a dozen of malfunction keys(pretty much all the keys in the right end). The same thing happens on one of my friends who get half a dozen keys not working&replaced right away. So I'm quite disappointed that Apple has poor QC in literally this particular product, otherwise it'll be a five-star product.

My magic keyboard 1 last 6 years, but this “new one” only one year and some months. Thanks Apple, for now on i gonna have to look for another brand to believe in ...

Pd: i call support and everything, they told me the solution is to buy a new one but first take it to the personal support (of course it cost) and theeen buy a new one ...

Worst designed keyboard of all time..

    • Written by Jim Q from Lexington

Why did Apple choose this keyboard as the default keyboard for iMac? Answer: the only chance to deplete their stock. So many problems; I’ll just mention the three worst issues.

    1. It sits flat with no risers. Two years until you must wear braces on your wrists.
    2. Up and down arrows. Maybe a three year old could get a finger on just one of the keys. Maybe Apple hopes to sell more Apple Pencils just to press these keys.
    3. No hold and press for repeat keys. This is not a gun. You can set the keys as automatic. Maybe a third party can sell a bump stock for this item.

The keys don’t feel right to me, but I realize that is a matter of taste. Personally, I believe the designer must have been high the day this keyboard was developed. Fortunately, third party designers have other options for purchase. Lately, I’ve noticed third party developers do a much better job than Apple on accessories anyway. Why—because Apple n longer cares what they put out.

    It's terrible

    • Written by Nicki E from royersford

I wish I'd read these reviews before I bought this keyboard in December after I spilled some water on my other keyboard (which was larger). It's horrible. My carpal tunnel is now acting up again because of the way you have to stretch to reach the keys. It's just not comfortable to use and why Apple even offers this is beyond me. As some pointed out, it's the same as using your laptop keyboard and I have my laptop connected to a large screen so I use a dropped keyboard set up to help with carpal tunnel and this keyboard has aggravated it. There is no way I can keep using this. I'd love to exchange it for a larger one but apple won't allow it.
DON'T BUY THIS whatever you do.

    It's great..!

    • Written by Raoul W from Annapolis

Just bought the magic keyboard and magic mouse for my 27" iMac. I'd had the regular battery operated keyboard and mouse before. They're both fantastic! I do a lot of work in Photoshop as well as write emails, browse the Net, etc.. Everything functions perfectly. This keyboard doesn't angle quite as high as the former one, but it is comfortable to use. Both keyboard and mouse charges last a long time and recharge quickly. Highly recommend..!

    Is this a joke?

    • Written by Tom M from Rochester

This is what passes for a keyboard in 2019? Apple used to ship glorious keyboards that one could type on. This reminds me of a chiclet keyboard from a budget basement 1980s Tandy computer. People actually still need to “type*, Apple, give us a break. I love my iMac, but I had to spend $70 on a Nixeus Moda Pro, which is what ought to have shipped with the iMac in the first place.

    love it

    • Written by Lev D from New York

I've used this keyboard for over 2 years. I've used it's predecessor for 3 years. This one is my favorite. Without the numpad, the travel distance from keyboard to touchpad is very short and therefore very convenient. The keyboard+touchpad surface area on my small desk is small enough for a cup of coffee. Internal battery life is superb. Keys are perfect.

Looking forward to the space gray version!

Looks good but did work for me (I type a lot)

    • Written by Aleksandr B from Fort Lee

It felt really nice when I played with it in a store, but it's uncomfortable keyboard for long term use, especially when you type for many hours every day. It's pretty and holds the charge fairly well, but its keystrokes aren't even across keys (there are a couple of keys that need a tad more pressure to strike) and it has a very low profile - I initially thought it's a good thing but my palms feel more natural and comfortable over slightly taller boards. As much as I like the trackpad, the keyboard did not work for me.

    Horrible key layout

    • Written by James P from Harrogate

The build quality is fantastic but I'm not sure what Apple were thinking with the arrow key layout. As a Graphic Designer I find it incredibly frustrating using the up and down arrow keys. Keys are meant to be finger sized for a very good reason. To be honest I wouldn't be surprised if it's an attempt to make people buy their larger keyboards for their rip off price of £129.

    Best keyboard of its time

    • Written by Jon K from Madison

I've used this keyboard side-by-side several different kinds; giving each an adequate amount of time to get used to. This keyboard comes out on top every time. It initially feels different--almost harder to type with. Once that goes away, the keys are the most satisfying I've found. Weird to get so attached to a keyboard, but it really is well designed.

    did not like it

    • Written by Zhihan P from scarborough

Did not like it, not really for typing.

    Pros:
    1. wireless connection to my MacBook air, no more messy cables
    2. compact design, saves desk space
    3. design looks sleek

    Cons:
    1. key travel distance too short, shorter than my macbook air, that's how horrible it is. it's like typing on a piece of glass, with no key response
    2. keys too close together, made a lot of typos while i was using it
    3. the whole alignment just kind of awkward for typing

    Great Keyboard!

    • Written by NENA M from RICHMOND

I love it! I don't know why people have given this such bad reviews. I've had Macbook Pros for years and still do. I decided to get a bigger computer for work and I love the keyboard. It is nice since it is wireless and I can position it anywhere on my desk. I can store it under the monitor when I'm finished or wherever. The charge on it keeps for months. Sure the keys are semi-loud, but that is any keyboard. Actually, it sounds better than the Macbook pro touch. My husband can't stand when I type on that. I've had nothing but good things to say about this keyboard and it's super lightweight!
