    Excellent, as usual

    • Written by Tim S from Ascot

I read a few reviews about this keyboard before I bought one and a lot of them said that the arrow keys were hard to use and in general wasn't easy to use, not sure what they are all talking about, it is a great product, yes the arrow keys are a little smaller than on the old keyboards but there is no difference in usability, my fingers found the right keys from the start!

    Another solid Apple product

    • Written by Nick H from keighley

I have had this keyboard for a few days now, and I have found that I can type much faster on this keyboard because of the lower key travel. As most other reviews have said, this new version is louder to type. But I quite like the noise, each key makes a satisfying tap to compensate for the lower key travel. The lower key travel does make they keyboard much easier to use, and is defiantly an upgrade from my wired apple keyboard with the num pad.
Although, the only thing I would want it to do is be able to act as a wired keyboard through the lightning cable, as at work we have really rubbish keyboards, but no bluetooth, therefore I'd love to be able to simply plug this keyboard into my work computer and continue to use it there.

This is another great product from apple. Im not sure it's worth £79 however at least when you buy from apple you can rest assured that you are buying quality and that the product is designed by Jony Ive!

The best keyboard for the iPadPro

    • Written by ROLLAND R from Cream

I like the iPadPro and wanted to be able to use it like a computer. I thought about which external keyboard to use for home/office and especially when I am traveling. I bought the Magic Keyboard and I am extremely happy with the choice. The Magic Keyboard is robust, professional and has the right spring for each key and it paired easily and works seamlessly with the BlueTooth of the iPadPro. If you need a professional keyboard for typing on the iPadPro I recommend getting the Magic Keyboard. The keyboard is easy to carry around in a sleeve and easy to set up during travel.

Was really wary of this keyboard after reading all these reviews about how the thing bends because there aren't any feet under the middle of the keyboard. It's total BS. If you're pressing hard enough to bend the keyboard you should stop for a minute and remind yourself that this isn't a 1940's typewriter. It's also not a big gigantic hipster mechanical keyboard that all the cool kids are using now either.

This thing is awesome. Short key throw and virtually no key ghosting which is more than I can say for a bunch of other wannabe low profile keyboards out there today. Here's your test - hold both shift keys and then type "THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG". This is the first I've owned that hasn't had a ton of spaces and missed keys.

This keyboard rules. It's perfect for typing and gaming (which I do a lot of). My only gripe is that it's expensive. Meh.

Waited 18 months using Magic Keyboard before writing this review

    • Written by MICHAEL C from SPRINGFIELD

First, I am amazed at the litany of 1-2 star reviews on this keyboard. I just have to shake my head. I waited 18 months (purchased in May 2016) to write this review on purpose - I wanted to use it and then share my honest opinion. Disclaimer: I have no association with Apple or the computer industry. There is no keyboard on the market that has the response of key depression like this keyboard. End of story. I have tested hundreds of keyboards since 1995 and nothing comes close to this keyboard. I gave my son my old Windows PC and have purchased/returned multiple keyboards trying to resemble this one and cannot find one that even comes close to this Magic for his PC. It looks like I'll need to buy him a mac too. The battery life on this is incredible but it does take a while to charge! I don't crunch numbers so I don't need the number keypad version. I can't stress enough the key depression on this keyboard. It's so tight and responsive, there's nothing like it!

    Tried and True

    • Written by Jeff W from Rohnert Park

As a software engineer I use a keyboard very often and having the keyboard match my laptop keyboard is very helpful with muscle memory of keys. The battery seems to last forever (it's never run out on me) and the lightning charging cable is great for swapping between other devices. I've used the same one day in and day out at home and the office for close to three years now. It's been toted in motorcycle and bicycle saddlebags in all types of weather with only it's original cardboard box as it's case. Literally, the only downside is its price – like most all Apple products. Cheers!

    LOVE this Keyboard

    • Written by Frederick D from New York

Was very hesitant to buy this considering all the awful reviews BUT:
Y'all crazy! I love it! Super thin and light, connects to my ipad like a dream and can type lightning speed with it.
I need to travel with it so Apple: could you please make a case for it for those of us on the run?

    Love this little keyboard

    • Written by Terri A from Kennesaw

I have arthritis and using a regular keyboard is painfull and difficult for me. I'm able to type much faster without pain and am more accurate. Works great with my iPad and hope to use it with my computer. I've tried the iPad cases with the keyboard attached but the key pad was too small and too close to the iPad. This is perfect because I can put this keypad in my lap and have my iPad in a stand if I want. Love, love, love this little thing. Made very well.

    Awesome Keyboard

Takes some time getting used to, but once you do, it's one of the most amazing keyboards out there. The build quality is impeccable and the battery life is outstanding.

    It just works

    • Written by Paul A from College Station

I'm not sure why this thing has such mixed reviews because mine works flawlessly and it is why I keep buying Apple products. They just work. It's the same size as the keyboard on my 15" MacBook Pro so I'm already used to the size. I bought it with the mStand that is also sold on here and now it feels as if I have a desktop computer but I get to keep my portability. 10/10 would recommend.

    misleading reviews

    • Written by Lynne G from Chatham

read the previous review about noisy keyboard and nearly didn't buy it, but went ahead anyway as can't use mac without it and I'm very pleased I did, it's really quiet just the same as my old one, which I unfortunately spilt a drink on while trying to get to the phone. yes I would have like it to be cheaper obviously, but it's great, easy to set up quiet, easy to use and very sleek, only worry is the integral battery and how long before I have to replace the keyboard when it stops charging. apart from that, very happy

    Best keyboard of its time

    • Written by Jon K from Madison

I've used this keyboard side-by-side several different kinds; giving each an adequate amount of time to get used to. This keyboard comes out on top every time. It initially feels different--almost harder to type with. Once that goes away, the keys are the most satisfying I've found. Weird to get so attached to a keyboard, but it really is well designed.

    Love it...

    • Written by Cody M from Duncan

I just wrote one of these for my magic mouse 2 so on to the magic keyboard. I recently built a home office since I returned to college to finish my degree. I don't take technology purchases lightly and even though I read some bad reviews on here i went to the apple store and tried this out along with the mouse. Im using it on a MacBook air 13 inch with I7 processor that I have had for a year and it works flawlessly. The battery life is awesome just like the Mouse and I spend a huge amount of my day on here with online college classes, work, shopping, bills etc. As for the battery life I do not understand the bad reviews at all. It holds a charge for quite awhile. I also don't agree with the reviews on the size of the keyboard. It is the exact same size as my MacBook Air's keyboard, literally, except the keys are just a hair bigger but not truly measurable except with a mic. So I guess if your used to those sprawling huge keyboards of HP and the like it might seem smaller, but it you own a Macbook it is not. Grab one at the apple store and compare it yourself. Connecting it to my MacBook was the same as the mouse, just turn it on and turn on bluetooth=DONE. Dont listen to the bad reviews, it is awesome.

    It works.

    • Written by Adam M from Minnetonka

Some context: I prefer to place my MacBook Pro laptop on a raised stand when I work with it. So a remote keyboard and mouse are essential to me. Also, because I move around quite a bit, portability is crucial.

    Now, my review.

I've tried other keyboards, and they're fine. But I do prefer this new version of the Magic Keyboard for several reasons. First, it has a small footprint, is lightweight, and the internal battery seems to last for months. And second, I like the overall feel of the new keyboard mechanism and its flat profile. Not everyone will agree, of course - finding the right keyboard is like finding a correct-fitting shoe. But as someone who writes for a living in multiple locations, this has been a solid choice.

    The perfect keyboard

    • Written by Giles C from Abergavenny

Reading the reviews, this new keyboard from Apple seems to bring out strong opinions! I definitely fall into the best-hardware-they've-ever-made camp on this one. It's a superb keyboard: precise, low travel (but enough), a delightful firm feeling to each key press, lightweight & robust enough to chuck it in a bag to use with an iPad, instant to pair, easy to charge – it even has a proper on/off switch… it's the gold standard of keyboards. Using the keyboard on my MacBook Air makes me very sad now – it just feels horrible & spongy in comparison. It makes me want a new Retina MacBook with the similar keyboard… maybe that was Apple's idea all along?

    Great Keyboard!

    • Written by NENA M from RICHMOND

I love it! I don't know why people have given this such bad reviews. I've had Macbook Pros for years and still do. I decided to get a bigger computer for work and I love the keyboard. It is nice since it is wireless and I can position it anywhere on my desk. I can store it under the monitor when I'm finished or wherever. The charge on it keeps for months. Sure the keys are semi-loud, but that is any keyboard. Actually, it sounds better than the Macbook pro touch. My husband can't stand when I type on that. I've had nothing but good things to say about this keyboard and it's super lightweight!

Perfect for my iPad Pro 10.5

    • Written by Rochelle S from Basking Ridge

I needed a keyboard, but I didn't like the Smart Keyboard (heavy, thick, and unattractive). Magic Keyboard is portable (small and light) and pairs seamlessly with the iPad Pro. This keyboard should be featured under iPad Pro accessories. Highly recommend!!

    Pure Excellence

    • Written by Preston K from American Fork

I love this keyboard so much. It is the reason why I am dissatisfied with all my Macbook Pro keyboards. It has the perfect amount of travel, and snappiness, It is wonderful. Never had a mechanical problem, battery is like anything powered by AA's.

Today I tried out the Magic Keyboard 2 on an iMac Pro, and I was blown away.
It is just like this amazing keyboard, but more buttery and silky, much better than anything the Laptops bring to the table for me.

    I love these magic keyboards.

    Give It Some Time

    • Written by Scott A from Houston

I don't normally write product reviews, but after seeing the negative reviews about this keyboard I felt I should chime in.

This keyboard is great, but takes some getting used to. The key action is very shallow, crisp, and precise. If you are used to mashing, pushing, or pressing on keys, you will have to adjust your technique so that you are lightly tapping on the keys. Once you do that, you'll find that you can type faster with less effort. After typing on this keyboard for a while, my old MacBook Pro keyboard now feels mushy and soft - I don't know how I was ever satisfied with it before.

I suspect that the people who don't like this keyboard are used to, and happy with, a different type of key action, and are not interested in changing their typing habits - which is totally understandable. But if you are interested in trying something new, and you are willing to give yourself some time to adjust, I think you will find it is well worth it.
