    good for a mobile keyboard

    • Written by Tom O from Vancouver

I use a laptop for my main machine, but when I travel around I use an iPad Mini.

I don't think I'd use this when I have my laptop setup with a desktop screen, I prefer something mechnical.

However as a moible keyboarf for the iPad mini, this is really light weight and the typing experience is similar to my MacBook Pro

    Love it....... but took awhile

    • Written by Kurt T from Roseville

When I first bought this product I thought my hands were too big for it and I was missing my "Microsoft/larger" Keyboard. BUT.......took me a week or two to get used to not needing to have such travel for my hands and fingers. Now I love it and since I move my hands less, pain in my wrists from other larger keyboards has disappeared. I love the product, just took time to adjust to it.

    Magic?

    • Written by Gurgen A from Brooklyn

Absolutely love this keyboard. In fact I prefer the short key travel. If you are coming from a mechanical keyboard you might be disappointed. It is very responsive and switching from previous generation is a breathe, even though slight adjustment should be made (arrow keys). The feel is more modern and sleek; design is beautiful. And thank you for letting us charge is with a standard lighting cable. I would love the keys to be backlit for the next generation as well as a standalone space grey version. Overall, i feel like I type faster (but maybe I don't)... Magic

    Excellent Keyboard

    • Written by Harvey D from Gravesend

The keyboard is very pleasant to type on, build quality is 10 out of 10, charging is such great feature and fast too.
If you need a keyboard whether wireless or wired, just get this. Such a good quality keyboard and I can't find a con so far.

    Great Keyboard!

    • Written by Jon T from Carlsbad

I love the feel of this keyboard over the previous versions. Since this version is more horizontal, I've noticed less wrist pain because in feels like I'm typing directly on the desk and I don't need to elevate my wrists. I also love the tactile response of the keys. I felt the older version keys were a bit to springy. It feels like I can type much faster with this new version.

    Terrific!

    • Written by JODY L from Columbia Falls

I purchased this (along with the magic mouse 2) for use with my new MacBook when I want to use a larger screen and I absolutely love it! One of the things I love about my MacBook is the feel of the keys when you type - this keyboard feels very sturdy and does not make a ton of noise (just like my MacBook) - I was a little hesitant to purchase cause I was worried it would not be as good of an experience as typing on my MacBook, but I love it. The fact that I can charge and not have to worry about batteries is a bonus. It's small and light and has the sleek Apple design I love - this and the mouse are so easy/quick to pair and great for travel (and saving space on your desk!) - I definitely recommend!

Bought this and the magic mouse to use them when I connect my macbook pro to my Thunderbolt screen. I am in love with them. The design of both is great, makes them very comfortable. they are small so they don't take much space on my workspace and the battery really lasts long. I have been using them 5 days straight all throughout the day..and I didn't charge them once yet. incredible!!

    A Great Keyboard

    • Written by knight R from xi'an

I decided to buy one some days before, because my old Macbook pro 13 is too hot for typing. Now I can type quicker using this keyboard. In addition, I found a keyboard cover on amazon which can be used for this new keyboard.

    I love this keyboard

    • Written by Justin A from EAST OTIS

Reviews are based on everyone's personal experience with new devices and technologies. If they have a bad or good experience, they associate that with the particular product. But as I am writing to you on this Magic Keyboard, I love this keyboard. I was surprised just how small it was. The keyboard I had previously was gigantic and was wired (Ick!). Plus, having a macbook pro complicates the keyboard nicely. Its light and the typing seed is quite fast. Getting used to another keyboard, mouse, or even computer takes some time. But if you hang in there, all 60 seconds, your experience will be positive. However, I fully understand different strokes for different folks. But personal experience has told me that I immediately love this typing device and confirms my faith in Apple, after reading some of the not-so-positive reviews. Thank you and good night.

    Best keyboard I've ever used!

    • Written by Garrett R

I think the "Magic" part of Magic Keyboard, Trackpad, and Mouse mean its supposed to be a lot better than the average keyboard, trackpad or mouse. This keyboard does not disappoint, It is a DREAM to type on, looks sleek and beautiful and you can forget its there, and it feels satisfying to type on. The key travel is so satisfyingly short, and almost makes me type faster and lets me thing that I'm not breaking my keyboard, because my old Magic Keyboard did show signs of wear after a long time of use.. Works very well with the Magic Mouse and Trackpad. Don't listen to the negative reviews, I assume those were defect models or something, because I have never had a problem with this keyboard. Five stars.

    Amazing Product

    • Written by Vincent L from Ashburn

The Magic Keyboard is definitely an upgrade from the old wireless keyboard. The butterfly switch design makes the keys feel very click and satisfying to press, and the keyboard was very well designed. The keyboard wastes no space which means that you can fit more things on the desk you are using it on, while keeping the device very compact and light. The battery life is amazing and charging it while using it is no problem. This device pairs very well with your Mac because all you have to do is plug it in to your device. I also recommend buying the Magic Keyboard with the Magic Mouse 2 as both are very well made products that match the Apple aesthetic and function very well in the Apple ecosystem.

    So far great, love it!

My work has me on the road quite a bit and for years I've made due with simply taking my MBP 15" along. However, there are lots of times I need to work on my MBP hours at a time and really miss the ergonomic setup at home (MBP w/external 27" monitor attached, both elevated, and using the detached wireless KB and MT). After recently seeing a colleague using a portable Roost laptop stand, I decided to give this a try. So, as part of this experiment, I also decided I'd finally shell out the extra $$ and upgrade to the new Magic keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2. My daughter and son have been using the new ones since Jan 2017 with their Mac Books and neither have ever mentioned any issues. My older wireless KB and MT have been great, love them both. However, being able to power/recharge the newer MKB and MT2 w/o worrying about bringing a battery charger along too was appealing. After trying out the new MKB and MT2 for several hours I experienced absolutely no issues w/ either. All-in-all I happy with both. I left similar review on the MT2 a week earlier. After a week on the road with both and my Roost, I'm thrilled with the setup. If you're a "road warrior" look at the combination of these three items. I just added the Pawtec Sleeve for the MKB and MT2 this week, the fit was perfect and the padding looks like it will sufficiently protect both in my backpack while traveling.

Great little keyboard. Connects on awake all the time (2017 MacBook Pro). Long battery life. Minimal design, nice.

The only downside for me is there's no backlight on the keys. Understandable for a board run off a battery, but for someone who works in a dark room, it would have been a cool feature to have. Nevertheless, it's a great keyboard.

I also hope Touch Bar comes to a future keyboard release.

    Magic Keyboard

    • Written by Evelyn H from Granite City

I bought the new Magic Keyboard. It is great. It was easy to connect to my IPad Pro 12.9, I type much faster. I like the idea of being able to charge the battery. Some one said in a review, "people with carpal tunnel will have a lawsuit", did Apple make them buy the keyboard, think not. It is not a cheap keyboard, it is sturdy, well made. I love Apple products.

    Very happy

    • Written by Mark O from Plymouth

I have been using both versions of the Magic keyboards and after 6 months i must say i think the newer model is much better. Key are responsive and have a great feel.

It does take a bit to get use o but if you can stick with it then i think you will be very happy using this keyboard.

One thing i would like to see is a bigger version with the number pad added to it.
