Have to unlock phone to connect headphones

When I turn these headphones on they don't connect until I unlock my phone. I like to use the play controls from the lock screen on my phone and having to unlock requires me to navigate to my audio app to start playing the audio. I don't have this problem with my other pair of bluetooth headphones. Is there a way to have them connect without unlocking? Why do this product have to have the pop window with a connect button?

Other than this annoying feature the product works well. I like that it comes with so many different earbud sizes. The power button is small and hard to use. Not a good product is you want to power off and on often through out the day.

    Worked fine for 5 weeks

They worked for 5 weeks, now won't power up. Really??? For the high price you would hope for more life than that.

    Third pair in 3 weeks

My first pair didn't work right from the start - one of the headphones kept cutting in and out. Exchanged them 2 days after buying them for a new pair. Three weeks after that exchange, my second pair stopped working altogether... they wouldn't even turn on. I'm now on my third pair and really hoping this one will actually work. On the bright side, the sound quality is decent and the microphone is great for phone calls.

    Simply the best!

I have owned several pairs of wireless headphones. I've owned different styles, brands, and sizes and these BeatsX are hands-down the best. I debated purchasing these because they were a bit more expensive than what I've paid in the past and I typically only get a few months of non-stop wearing out of any that I have owned. However I decided to bite the bullet and give them a try. I'm so happy that I did. These headphones are the most comfortable. They fit nice and snug in the ear. I can wear them all day and even forget I have them in. The sound quality is great. They stay charged and connected to my phone for hours of off and on use. However the best thing about them in my opinion is the way they feel around my neck. I typically wear these while working and because I'm at work I can only have one bud in at a time. Other pairs I have owned catch on my neck or hair when only wearing one side. Other pairs made it difficult to turn my head or keep them around my neck when only wearing one side. These BeatsX do not have any of those problems. The material they are made of is so soft that it glides across my neck. It also rests easy on the back of my neck and the one not in use lays flat on my chest due to the weight. During times that I have neither bud in my ear they easily clasp together and stay out of my way. I feel like I'm not describing this enough to really do it justice but I'm telling you these are absolutely the best wireless ear buds I have ever owned. In fact I can't think of a single improvement I would suggest. I wear these headphones 8 or 10 hours per day and these are the only pair that I can stand having around my neck or in my ear for that long. It's so refreshing to put them on in the morning and then just enjoy them and forget about them when not in use. This was money so well spent that I cannot see myself ever buying another brand of headphones for myself or my family! Do something nice for yourself and invest in these BeatsX wireless headphones, you will not regret it!

    Great earphones

The earphones are very easy to connect to all of my devices. They have a nice sound with enough bass to sound good without bieng to overwhelming. Much better than any of the normal earphones and some over ear headphones that I have tried.

Ok for the price. Battery could be better and does not work on Ipod nano?

    love them

the earphones are so nice and comfortable I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a great pair of wireless in-ear headphones my one problem is the silicone case is slightly hard to put your headphones in, it took me about 5 days of using it to figure out how to.

    lack of bass-sound..:(

I'm always a big fan of beats product. I used to wear the urbeats 2nd generation, and the sound quality is awesome. when beats X hit the market, i instantly loved the design and the features, which is wireless. After i decided to buy, there's only 1 thing 1 kinda dissapointed, which is the bass-sound. This product have bad sound quality on bass, that even my previous urbeats is much more better on sound quality.

Overall, slick design, great feature, easy to use, but very dissapointed on sound quality. Beats as the global brand which always great in sound quality, but for this particular product is NOT at all.

    3 stars from me.

    Disappointing fit and form

Let me start by saying the sound is great. Beats as always makes awesome sounding gear, these are no exception to that rule. I hate the cord that connects the ear buds though. Anything that brushes up against the cord resonates into the headphones. When I run with these headphones, I have the consistent sound of the cord bouncing against my neck resonating over my music. If I'm wearing them while sitting, I can't eat with these headphones in, the sound is so awful.
The cord is also weirdly unruly. Either running or at the gym, the cord will occasionally fall backwards and the weight of it is sometimes enough to take the earbuds out of my ears which is not pleasant. The volume control and charging elements are in the way and hard to control.
You can't wear the headphones and charge them at the same time without it being unruly.

I'm not going to keep these and will try AirPods instead.

    They won’t last long...

I would not recommend these headphones to anyone. They are far too expensive of a product for the headache they cause. This is my experience. I bought my first pair March 2017. By July 2017 they would not turn on. I sent them back for replacement. By September 2017 they would not turn AGAIN. They did a out of box return in the store this time, essentially resetting the warranty clock. They lasted until March 2018 where they AGAIN would not turn on. All this time I charged them using the beats cable they came with or a OEM Apple cable from them or a authorized retailer. If not in use they hung from my neck (not exposed to water or sweat) or were in the pouch they came with. However, since this pair had cosmetic damage (one of the Bs one of the buds came off and a mesh on the bud was missing) they would not replace them under warranty but would replace them for $80.00. Uh, no. How long would it be until I take them back to be replaced AGAIN? Enough is enough. They were nice while they lasted which wasn’t long.

    Why I bought these instead

I have owned both Airpods and beats X
Personally I prefer the Beats X. For a few reasons ( don’t worry I’ll keep it short )

    1. AirPod, while it’s a most size fit all, they don’t fit me, after about 2hrs of in ear it hurts so bad.
Beats X come with a multiple types of squishy buds so you will find the perfect fit
    2. I can’t wear AirPods in a moto helmet, the stems grab the straps and they dig into your ear
    3. Actual controls on he headset, I don’t need to grab my device for any reason while playing music or anything for that matter
Lastly I feel like because I get a better fit with Beats X it just sounds better.

I will say AirPods have the better battery life, and better call quality in my opinion. If you like the headphones that come with your iPhone, and don’t need to put a helmet on... you’ll love AirPods

    Where's the bass ???

Clearly Dr Dre doesn't like bass, because these earphones just don't have any! My first Beats purchase and it's left me wanting. While these are very convenient and comfortable they just don't deliver a quality listening experience. They certainly don't warrant the $200 price tag if you are looking for decent music reproduction.

    Great while they work

The audio sounds great and I loved the fast charging. The design is good too, although I did find weird that the play controls are on the left and not the right. AND now the reason for the 3 stars, 9 months in the power button doesn't always work and now at the 11 month mark the connection is no good. It won't charge or turn on. For the price I expected to get a longer life span and just overall better quality.

Best earphones ever! Been using it since December

I never had a problem with this Beats X, I love how easy it is to pair with my iphone 8 plus. Fast charging when I really need the music, great stuff. Thanks.

This is a low quality product

Got these for free with an iPad Pro. The iPad is great and I use it every day. These headphones are the worst I have ever owned. They barely fit in my ears (all of the bud sizes feel too large) and hurt to leave in the ears for any amount of time. In addition to this the audio quality and reproduction is just bad. Songs sound like they are muffled through a pillow. Finally the carrying case makes no sense and putting them into it is a chore. 1/10 would not recommend.

Won’t work after a month of owning them

I bought them at Best Buy. They worked great for a few weeks and then they wouldn’t charge or play. I found all the troubleshooting tips and videos and still don’t work. There seems to be an issue with the battery. Time and time again this seems to be the complaint. Hopefully enough people complain and they design a better product.

Do Not Buy BeatsX, I am 3 pairs in

I am currently on my third pair of BeatsX earphones. I absolutely despise them. My first pair came in the mail from Apple.com, and worked for 5 days and completely stopped working. I took them into the Apple store in person and got them exchanged, and then the same problem occurred 10 days later. I then became heavily busy and unable to return to the store for quite some time. For about 5 months I was out of a pair of earphones due to the low quality of BeatsX. I recently took them back to the Apple store and received a replacement. I only expect the problem to perpetuate.

Do yourself a favor, and do not purchase this product.
