    Total Waste of $$$

    • Written by Brian O from Chicago

I've bought 3 pairs of these headphones and they always break. First one side goes - then the other. I've tried to use the old school headphones with the lightning adapter, which is even worse. When the adapter is plugged in - the slightest movement or tweak to the cord - opens up apps, mutes the volume, fast forwards music tracks. I've also purchased 2 different lighting port adapters and have had the same result.

Why does Apple keep changing the ports and connector cables all the time - other than to generate revenue from morons like me who keep purchasing their junk. I wish that Apple would just stick with something that works and make it a standard.

    Terrible, needs constant replacing

    • Written by Upuli D from Gainesville

For the cost, it's absurd how often they need to be replaced. After just 3 or so months, they tangle really easily (the texture of the cords seems to change in this time from sleek to a weird restrictive rubber feeling) and they malfunction by stopping and starting my music out of no where, turning on siri when i didn't ask for it, and the button on the right malfunctioning even though I only use these while walking around campus/studying.

    Super disappointed.

    $29 for a $5 product

    • Written by Anthony K. E from Clarksville

The fact that Apple believes all ears are created equal and that one size fits all is ludicrous. These earbuds are completely useless to me. They fall out of my ears with the slightest movement. While they are pleasing on the eyes I unfortunately cant hear by looking at them. The "Sleek design" that everyone talks about is more like the "Slick design" because they’re so slippery they slip right out of my ears. The hard plastic design creates a very slick surface. Without anything to provide friction or grip the buds just fall out. Now the sound quality is there but only if I hold my fingers on the buds to keep them in my ear. Aside from that it’s difficult to hear anything when they are hanging from my neck. I wouldn’t buy a pair of these if they were selling for a single dollar. I don’t make it a habit of buying stuff that doesn’t function properly unless I can fix it and unfortunately this design cant be fixed.

The Worst Headphones Apple has Made

    • Written by Mark M from Chicago

While the sound coming from the earbuds is actually an improvement, it won't matter within a couple weeks because the earbuds will stop working. At first it was an occasional blip, when the content I listened to would advance or rewind by 15 seconds. Then it turned into a real pain when, every time I moved, a short in the connector caused the content to pause, skip tracks, or shut down the app entirely. I'm a long-term Apple adherent and the earbuds I had on my old, bricky iPod lasted me five years. The only reason I replaced them was because I got an upgraded iPhone. Apple needs to reorient it's priorities back to providing their customers a quality product at a considered cadence instead of trying to push out a new phone every year or so.

    Seriously?

    • Written by Jacob W from Holland

Had my iPhone 7 for less than 6 months and the headphones already stopped working. My headphones from my iPhone 4 still work! Obviously there is a serious issue here. Stop ruining your products in means of forcing people to spend more, people have are leaving Apple left and right because of this.

    They don't last.

    • Written by Marta D from Las rozas

These are the seconds I buy, and I bought them less than a month ago.
They are in good condition, but you can't hear them in one earpiece, and you can't hear anything in the other one.
I do not recommend them in terms of quality-price, since they only work well right out of the box.

    • Written by Sam C from Reedley

I like apple products but since the headphone jack was removed from the phones and these new earbuds came out the sound is beautiful but they have been pure garbage. Please just bring the headphone jack back or at least have them work longer than a couple months

    Apple earbuds

    • Written by John L from Bloomington

Very disappointed with the Apple earphones I just bought them 5 days ago and when using them randomly one of the right ear has no sound coming out of it. The reason I bought these new ones was because with my other ones the same thing happened where the sound was not coming out f one speaker.

Waste of money. Not worth $30 for easily broken earpods

    • Written by opeyemi O from Middle River

I have had these earpods 3 times in a row in the past year; 1 given to me with purchase and the other 2 bought by me. it lasted for a given amount of 2-4 months at most. I am extremely disappointed at how Apple sells these at such an expensive price to only be such poor quality (except the audio) and it’s durability. I will definitely be purchasing my EarPods of a different brand elsewhere.

    Breaks easily

    • Written by Adelina V from staten island

Don’t bother getting a new set. The amount of times I had to get new earphones because the right side always went out. Always. Never the left. These do not even last a full semester for me and I only use them when commuting. I’d rather buy cheap headphones from a drug store than pay money for these if the warranty expired. I’m really disappointed because they sound absolutely great until about 3-4 months they break. Y’all got money, fix this issue.

    Warning of ELECTRIC SHOCK!

    • Written by Sarah C from Brooklyn

I got these with my new Iphone X when I upgraded. The first time I used them, the mic didn't work and I could't use them for calls. After a couple of days, I plugged these earphones into my new phone and turned on music. Instead of sound, I received a painful electric shock into my ear canal. Thank g-d I still have my hearing. Worst product ever. Shame on you Apple for monopolizing the market- if you want to do so, please provide good quality products instead of GARBAGE.

    Broke within months

    • Written by John C from Fairfax

I bought these (third replacement) only a few months ago. I've learned to baby these EarPods: loose cord wrapping; only disconnect pulling directly on the plug, not the cord; don't shove into my back pocket and sit on them. Months after buying them with totally normal daily use, though, the left bud stopped working entirely. Same as the other two pair - one bud just goes dead. These are comfortable in my ears, and I enjoy staying "within the Apple ecosystem" - I know, they're just ear buds. I had the ear buds from my iPhone 4 for years, migrating from phone to phone as I upgraded. These are a huge step backward in reliability and durability.

    Poor quality

    • Written by Mehmet Ali Y from Houston

They are not for using long time. They can be easily broken in couple months of buying. The bad thing is that because of that lightening connector, you don’t have much other choice, so you keep paying money to apple.

I don’t know how many iPhone headphones I’ve gone through! Waste of money!!! I bought my latest pair on Feb. 16th and you can only hear out one side. I’ve been buying the cheap $5 kind and they last longer than these!! I thought by now they would’ve improved.

Terrible change from the 3.5mm Earpods

    • Written by Shaun D from Greenmount

Its probably easier for me to write the review in this way.

    What I Like:
    - Sound Produced
    - Fit of the Earpods to my ears
    - The Multiple Functions of the Remote
    - The fact apple gave us an option for Earphones that wasn't just Airpods.

    What I don't Like:
    - Cannot Charge phone at the same time I'm listening to Music or watching a video
    - Remote 9 times out of 10 does not connect - which means you have to unplug the headphones and plug them back in for it to work.
    - When remote does not connect microphone on the Earpods reverts back to phone microphone - very inconvenient when phone is in your pocket riding a bicycle or at the gym and answering a call.
    - Slightest amount of pressure on the lightning connection causes music to pause, this happens to me frequently at the gym when sitting on equipment with phone in my pocket and when I'm on my bicycle.

Bring back the 3.5mm Audio Jack or make Airpods more affordable!

    • Written by Minh N from San Jose

Love this earphone so much , but I have to rate it with 1 star cuz it keeps not working one-side of the earphone after a short-time using it. Also, it twisted together easily after a month. Keep buying it many time and tired with this unstable earphone.

    • Written by Kendall B from Saint Petersburg

I got my phone back in July, and my third pair of these headphones just broke. The first two pairs were randomly pausing my music and switching songs, and the third pair the right headphone stopped working. It's good quality of sound, but it's a really big problem.

    Apple Headphones Review

    • Written by Andy T from Kentwood

I would say that these EarPods with Lightning Connector aren't long lasting because I brought an iPhone 7 Plus in December of 2017, and it came along with the EarPods. 6 months later, the mic and volume button on the EarPods wasn't working. I wasn't able to turn up or down the volume on my EarPods. I had to lower volume on my phone itself. Now it is nearly a year later, my EarPods is playing music on one side and the other side isn't playing music at all. I would suggest Apple find out why these EarPods break down easily less than a year. I'm still glad my iPhone 7 Plus is still functioning. I'm hoping the AirPods won't break that easily as these EarPods.

    Mine simply don't work.

    • Written by Kalyn A from Princeton

Writing a negative review for an Apple product seems like shouting into a void, but I guess I'm writing this in hopes that this design may evolve and improve based on customer feedback. My headphones glitch constantly, pressing pause, skipping songs, hanging up on people, so badly that I can't use them. I spoke to a lovely customer service rep about this, but unfortunately the only solution the company has in place is for me to go the Apple store to run tests to find out what's going on with my headphones (or if it's an issue with the recent screen replacement I had). Having just spent an entire afternoon (3-7) at the Grand Central location two weeks ago, I'm not sure when I'll be able to fit this into my schedule again.

Apple, please improve this design, come up with a better way to handle replacements in these instances, or make these headphones cheaper! $30 is too much to be constantly shelling out for something that breaks or malfunctions all the time.
