I have to use tape to hold them in my ears

    • Written by Cindy S from Mount Shasta

I wish they came with a loop that would fit over my ear to hold them in place. They don't fit snugly and if I try to put pressure to make them stay in they are terribly uncomfortable. Then in a few minutes they fall out. The best fix for me is to use medical tape my ears, over the earbuds to keep them in place.
A word of advice for Apple: not all ear canals are the same. Give your next design some flexibility please!

Broke within in a couple of months

    • Written by Arfon R from Haydock

The volume adjustment buttons just don't work at all and occasionally sound does play. I came on here to look for another pair and for this price it is not worth it since it will break in 1 - 2 months.

Same old Apple EarPods. Lasted 6 moths before the left side stopped working. Properly wrapped after every use but still broke. I've paid £60 in just over a year for these and wont ever buy any again.

    Doesn't fit my ears

    • Written by Monique V from Dallas

It is a shame companies don't realize that one size does NOT fit all. The EarPods don't even fit in my ears. Granted I got these with my new iPhone, but what is the use of having them if they don't fit.

Why do they still make these?

    • Written by Nick B from Fort mill

The headphones are great..... for the first 5 days. After using them for basically no time at all, they just stop working, and it’s happened to me with every single pair I’ve ever owned.

    Broke again

    • Written by Diamond P from Richmond

I got a replace set because my original set's wires gave out.
Dropped my phone and my headphones broke along with it. Come on now. You're going to drop somethings Sometime, shouldn't break after one drop less than three feet from the floor.

I have so far had many Headphones but these where the worst

    • Written by Tobias K from Frankfurt am Main

I like the way the earphones work as they are. That they are not in-ear. But the cables are horrible. They are so "not-good" in fact that I have to buy items to make them more sturdy, because I know they will break quicker than I can replace them.
I hate the Industrial Design Department for their decision to make the product prettier instead of sturdier. Get it together! Nobody likes you!

Great sound, but have to replace every two months..

    • Written by zachary M from Seattle

These headphones are the perfect example of planned obsolescence. Although they do sound great, expect to only have them for three to four months max. Dont know how many I've gone through with my iPhone 6 and 7 in the last couple years but it's unfortunate. One ear will go out after about three months in and then its problems from there. When you're paying 700+ for a phone you would think the classic headphones would last longer than half of a year! We'll keep buying though :/

    Wont stay in ears

    • Written by George S from Charleston

First off let me say that I tried these out because I was in a pinch and the battery died on my wireless headphones. I'm not sure when but Apple has dramatically increased the quality of these headphones. The previous ones were always kind of weak and tinny sounding. These sound much fuller and richer and would happily wear these as my main headphones BUT they will not stay in my ears. The left ear may stay in for a little while but the right not a chance. And then there are the wires. Never fails that if I can somehow squash them in my ears hard enough to get them to stay for a few minutes, inevitably the wires get caught on something and out they go. Too bad Apple thinks that one size fits all because I think the sound quality is there and would not hesitate to buy the more expensive Airpods but headphones are no good no matter how good they sound if they just wont stay in your ears

    Worst product imaginable

    • Written by Andrew T from Lindenwold

Usually use my wireless earbuds for the train and subway, but forced to use these for a day. These are the worst design in the world and the sound quality doesn't even matter because they don't fit properly. Can't charge your phone while using these, they don't stay in your ears, and when they are in your ear (however brief that may be) there is absolutely no sound proofing the outside world of noise. These could be the worst product Apple offers, and as of late, that's saying a lot. They ended up in a trash can in Philadelphia somewhere before my trip back home.

    Disappointing :(

    • Written by Harriet M from Cheltenham

I recently purchased my new iPhone 6s, however the EarPods don't fit properly in my ears! I am a 21 year old female of average size and height etc, the EarPods don't fit in my ears so I've had to go purchase a different brand of EarPods at my own expense. Very annoying considering how much you pay for the iPhone in the first place! :(

Only use in case of Emergency

    • Written by Pedro L from Olhão

Came with my iPhone 7 and I have got to say these headphones are terrible! Besides the fact that's they are cheaply built has an experienced owner of apple EarPods I can guarantee this won't last, the sound is garbage with almost no middle, poor bass (if ever defined), no treble, rather low volume range, almost no effect from EQ and crisp sound. If you find yourself in a situation where you have no headphones resort to a Seinheiser, a Sony Bluetooth (49€) or if you are like me and don't care about cables try an de find a Monster Clarity 100 (59,90€) they are great, never have been disappointed by Monster (have been using on eu of their guitar cables for more than 2 years and is pristine new).

    The absolute worst

    • Written by Sarah W from Bunceton

These are the worst earbuds of all time. The earbuds that come with iPhones are always terrible and these are no different. They’re way too big for my ears. They are SO hard and painful and are always falling out. WHY can’t they just put regular earbuds in there?? To add insult to injury, the ones that aren’t made of hard, painful plastic cost upwards of $100. If there was a headphone jack it would be fine, but there’s not.

I'm down to my 4th pair in 7 months. They break down within a few weeks, pausing and playing songs randomly, not to mention that the remote stopped working in a matter of days. Given that they're not cheap, this performance is unacceptable.

    Not the best

    • Written by Lina T from Newcastle

After accidentally leaving my dongle in an Uber, I have been forced to use these EarPods with Ligtning Connector. The sound is fine, but it's the lack of integration that frustrates me. The in-line mic and volume controls are finicky and don't get recognized. This may not be a result of the headphones, but have noticed a significant drain in battery life while I use Spotify (may just be the Spotify app's recent update). In addition, i need to switch between two phones for personal and work (iPhone 7 to iPhone 6) and was hoping to seamlessly use these headphones for both devices. That is not case. Sometimes these headphones won't even be recognized on the phone, the controls won't work, etc.

I'm all for removing the headphone jack, but at least make sure your devices and accessories will be able to support the changes. Horrible.

    Cheaply made

    • Written by Maddy P from Marshville

These earbuds sound so good, the audio is amazing but I do not recommend them because they are cheaply made. I bought my third pair of these cause my other ones broke and I didn’t have them for maybe two weeks and they broke in one ear. I’m really disappointed cause I just lost 30 dollars. DO NOT BUY THESE!

Got the headphones when I bought my iPhone XS & they lasted 3 months. Within the first month the left side stopped working and then the volume button and microphone shortly after stopped working & now they’ve completely stopped. After reading other peoples reviews, they’re all pretty much the same. Wouldn’t recommend

    Cheap Quality

    • Written by BRIAN C from Shaker heights

I just got a pair of these with my iPhone Max, and they broke after just three uses. I can't even find a decent converter to use the lightning port with the headphones I already owned. I have plenty of bluetooth headphnes, but I don't always want those (health concerns, lower sound quality, battery drain, etc).

And Apple wonders why it isn't selling more iphones. It's because it does STUPID THINGS LIKE THIS. Terribly disspaointed. The screen on my new XMax is awesome, but this will probably be my last iPhone because of all the other problems and the hassle of dongles for my freaking phone.
