    Junk product

    • Written by Saiping C from Brooklyn

I am seriously hate this product, only use for iPhone 7, not for all laptops because there are not such lightning ports. Apple, do you want me to buy another ear phone with AUX plug, if so, what is the point with this EarPod with Lightning, what a piece of junk.

Earpods Lightening connection getting disconnected frequently.

    • Written by sunil K from porur

This is a very serious hardware issue that apple must fix as soon as possible, before its too late. i listen to music while riding my bicycle, and this lightening connetor earpods get disconnected for every 2 min or 3 . If apple is not giving a sturdy earpods which is very basic right of any iphone user whats the point in spending so much for an iphone. very much dissappointed with its lightening connector earpods weak design and purposeless removal of standard headphone audio jack port from iphone7 onwards therby forcing and leaving iphone consumers to suffer their fate with these useless unsturdy weak lightening connector earpods

Note : No complaint with Audio quality , But what to do with Audio quality if its not able to reach the Ears.

    Poor build quality!!!!

    • Written by harsh K from Neasden

Got these with my iPhone and they sound exactly the same as the old ones. They just don't last as long!
The build quality is terrible, had to get these replaced from apple and new ones have now also broke.
The lighning connector is very fragile and weak! I don't know how Apple can charge £29 for them?!
This is the same with the Lightning charge/sync cable.. Absolutely rubbish quality!

They Are Absolute Garbage Yet Convenient And Cheap I Guess

    • Written by Isabella P from Ossining

For the first month or two, these ear buds work fine, and are comfortable, if a bit loose in the ear. They're not headphone quality for audiophiles or anything, but no headphones are. The shipping is free to where I live, too. However, I've burned through at least four of these, and I've only had my iphone 7 for a year. That means the average lifespan for this product, which costs over thirty United States Dollars after taxes, is only three months. 120USD/year on these things??? If I wasn't so bad about losing the adapter for the 3.5mm headphone jack headphones, I'd just buy a $10 store brand pair every couple months, and I'm sure they'd last just as long or longer. Waste of money, waste of time, waste of effort. If you're not like me and you can keep track of the adapter, do so at all costs. Buying these overpriced headphones is the sacrifice I make for my forgetfulness and reluctance to purchase more than 1 or 2 adapters that I keep losing. Avoid this hassle at all costs.

Can’t even make a decent set of EarPods?

    • Written by Sarah T from St. Louis

All these cool gadgets and they can’t update these useless EarPods? Why even include them in the box? They’re so bad. Waste of box space and money. Either upgrade them or don’t make us pay for them when we buy a new device. It’s been five years since they updated the design, but all they did was go from one crummy design to the next. 99% of customers just buy new headphones from third party companies.

I've had the new iPhone for a about 1 month and have been using the headphones walking to and from work. I live in Toronto and it's quite chilly, each time I am bundled up in my winter gear I get a fairly strong electric shock through both earbuds. This is not a pleasant experience!

This happened for about 2 weeks before I had to switch to a new pair.

    Do not recommend!

Faulty right out of the box

    • Written by Alasdair D from Brisbane

I bought an iPhone 8 today and the EarPods with lightning connector were faulty right out of the box. I checked to make sure the port wasn't faulty, and confirmed it was just the EarPods. This is pretty disheartening for a product I bought less than six hours ago.

I'm a college student; I study at library few times a week. So I'm out for library whole day, I always pack iPhone USB cord, MacBook charger, earbuds, and MacBook, and heavy books. Now I'm 30 mins before my exam, this is drive me insane. First time ever write a review.

I can't listen to any lecture videos and even music when I am studying with my MacBook. Ok, fine with music, I will just turn on my music APP on my phone. But my phone does not have enough battery for a long term of studying; I have to take out of this stupid lighting connector Earpods switch to my iPhone USB cord to connect to my Macbook.

Most annoying thing is I can expect all the course video material will be open without a browser on my laptop! And this earpods just can't do anything when I am studying in the library.

And, the convertor for Aux to Lightning only support for Aux plug into a lightning output, I mean, what is point?!!!! There is no lightning output on my laptop? There is only one lightning output on my phone, and I can charge it when it's occupied!

It literally forces my habits, either charging, or no music, and do not hear anything from my laptop.

Had my iPhone 7 for less than 6 months and the headphones already stopped working. My headphones from my iPhone 4 still work! Obviously there is a serious issue here. Stop ruining your products in means of forcing people to spend more, people have are leaving Apple left and right because of this.

Doesn't change anything in my life

    • Written by Ravi I from Curitiba

I bought it today for just $20 to use on my iPhone 5. I noticed that it just make things more complex for me, one time that i have to buy an adapter to charge and listen to music as same time. This thing also consume 10x more my battery charge, so, this thing just make the things more complex. I'm changing to the 3.5mm earpod again.

    Very disappointed with this product

    • Written by The A from Glasgow

They came with the iPhone 7 which was good however they do not deliver the best sound quality and broke after only two months of on and off usage. The lightning adapter also came with the iPhone which I ended up using after the earphones broke and this was even worse quality.

    Breaks easily

    • Written by Monica J from Colorado Springs

I am now on my second pair of EarPods within 6 months’ time. The first stopped working all together and failed to produce sound, while the second simply did not withstand my failure to treat it with the utmost delicacy. I hate that the lack of a decent headphone jack in the iPhone 7 has led me to purchase such a low-quality product.

    low quality product

    • Written by Iykee F from Sacramento

Only lasted for about two weeks. On the first week the left earpods started to malfunction and on the next day the microphone is not working anymore and on the second week all of it stopped working. It’s not worth it to buy this thing, maybe it’s the way of apple for advertising their new AirPods. But still apple wasted my money for this thing

Inferior to 3.5 mm headphone jack

    • Written by Gijs M from Tucson

I (accidently) bought these to replace the headphones for my iphone 5s.
Initially I thought they were ok, audio quality and basic functionality is the same.
However, I discovered a few downsides:

    - I can't plug them in to my laptop
    - can't charge your phone and listen to music at the same time. I need to carry a separate set of headphones when I'm traveling long distance.
    - often disconnects when listening to audio, or remote stops working and I have to replug the cable
    - spuriously pauses and skips tracks
    - less durable, they lasted only 6 months while my previous headphones lasted a year.

So I'm switching back to the 3.5mm headphone jack for now.
Unless I find some really good bluetooth earpieces, I don't see how I'm going to upgrade my phone.

    Really disappointed and not pleased

    • Written by Ariel P

No words are enough to explain how displeased I am. With previous earbuds I never seemed to care so much about them, so I didn’t take great care of them. When they stopped working I blamed myself which seemed like a very valid reason right? But this time I did my upmost best to taking care of these earpods. Since it wasn’t the headphone jack anymore and seeing that if I broke these I’d have to pay $29 for a new pair, I was not taking any chances with spending money where it wasn’t needed.

These worked out great for 9 months and I’ve always properly put them away. Just two days ago they were working just fine like any other day. Before I got home from school I put them into the side pocket of my bag; later on, when I grabbed them out to listen to music, I was met with silence on my left and music on the right. It was the most unsatisfying feeling and I still don’t know what to do.

Reading other reviews on here has made me really disappointed in Apple. Care to put some quality into your earpods and figuring out ways to improve them so they can actually last? Thanks.
