    Horrible microphone

    The sound quality of the microphone when plugged to iPhone XR to make calls is horrible, way worst than previous models of earbuds and iphone 6.

    Horrible quality

    The lightning cable breaks in less than a month. I honestly don't understand how apple can make these subpar horrible quality products. Shame on apple.

    So utterly rubbish

    I honestly had the exact experience as an earlier review. The pair that broke today was my third pair of the year. The firsts one stopped working all together, the second started skipping songs randomly and the third one currently only works in one ear. It is frustrating enough that the headphone port is the same as the charging port but it is ridiculous that in the 2.5 years I have had my current iphone I have gone through 7 earpods. Just absolutely not worth it.

    Been through 3 pairs

    I got my phone back in July, and my third pair of these headphones just broke. The first two pairs were randomly pausing my music and switching songs, and the third pair the right headphone stopped working. It's good quality of sound, but it's a really big problem.

    Who thought this was a good idea?

    Sure, the sound is good. But this limits your use to ONLY apple products. The fact that you are inable to use this with any device, it being a laptop or computer is horrible. It is incredibly inconvenient. The old design, the one with the regular headphone jack, was much better than the current design as it can actually be used with other devices without having to purchace a separate accessory or an entire new set of headphones just to enjoy sound on another device. For the price, I would expect more than just headphones that limit you to just other apple products.

    Brand New and Awful

    I just got these this week, and if I want to listen to music they're fine, but if I ever want to use the cellular device as a way to communicate to the outside world, then they are absolute garbage. If I want any chance of being heard, I have to hold the phone in my hands the whole time, as close to the mic as possible (so not hands-free. May as well hold the phone to my face the entire time sans buds). And even with the mic as close to my face as possible, apparently, it's the outside world these headphones want to transmit to the receiver. Anyway, it makes it impossible to talk to people on the phone. The poor quality of these earbuds feels like an awful and greedy ploy from Apple to make us buy their blue tooth buds or continue to buy their terrible products. In either case, Apple, you can do better.

    Pretty great but..

    I have had these for about 11 months and they were pretty powerful until the 9th month where the bass was the only thing that was loud and the treble was very weak. I have to put it up all the way and it’s still not loud enough for my comfort.

    I washed and dried these earbuds twice, and the only problem i experienced was a slight drop in the quality of bass. I recently dropped and stepped on my earbuds on accident, and i cracked the right earbud, only to find the quality remained the same. I don't know how, but I've had these earbuds for a year and they refuse to break.

    I love these!

    So interesting to see all the bad experiences that people have had. I've had mine almost a year and no issues at all. I'm guessing since we all have different shaped ears then some earbuds will work better for some than others. These fit me so well. The shape is perfect for my ears. Anyway - wanted to chime in with a positive review. :-)

    Do these actually fit anyone?

    I have thrown most of these in the house away, as all 4 of us in the house hate the way they feel (and they fall out constantly). Every new device, I get a new set to throw away. I'd donate them somewhere, but I don't hate strangers enough to torture them with these things that seem designed to cause maximal pain wearing them.

    Breaks within MONTHS

    In less than 3 months of purchasing, the headphones are broken. The button to pause/play and change the volume broke with no cause. I can’t talk on the phone with the headphones because no one can hear me. The music will pause and play as it pleases on my headphones. The music will play super fast out of no where. It’s so frustrating having to spend money on these products for them just to break within months. These are not durable. Just save your money and get wireless headphones.

    Broke after less than a month

    I enjoy the comfortable fit and sounds of Apple EarPods overall, however the lightning connector is a serious issue. After less than a month, the headphones which I received with my phone have stopped working due to the wire shorting out near the connector. The interface between the wire and the lightning connector is far too sharp, causing damage to the wire during very normal use cases such as having your phone in your pocket while listening to music. Incredibly poor design, I expect more from Apple.

    Horrible sound quality

    Lightning connector is not the right connection at all for sound, I got mine with the iPhone XS Max, which for the price should’ve brought the AirPods in there. These are horrible sounding earbuds, bad quality. The only option I have are Bluetooth headphones, which still isn’t the same quality as a good headphone jack. Funny how the first reviews that pop up are all 5 stars from way back when.

    Doesn’t Last Long at All

    I bought my iPhone 8+ last year and the earphones lasted me all the way up until now(11-30-18), the first thing that as to go out was the lighting rod I could still hear my music and everything but every time I moved it, my music would cut out or have a shocking sound, and I know why this is the reason. The lighting rod has such a magnetic grip when in the base of the phone that when you pull it out, you’re slowly stretching the cord and making it have a shortage. That wasn’t the only problem though, my mic cut out and I doesn’t work either, I can’t turn my music up or down or pause it I have to get my phone out and do it from there. The last thing to go out was my right earphone. I don’t know why Apple makes their products break so easily, you’d think you’d wanna make them last longer so more people would wanna buy but I guess not.

    Shocked Me

    I got the headphones with my iPhone 8 Plus that I got last year. Since I've had them, they've worked just fine. Though, recently the left side stopped working as it would randomly go in and out. Then, I started hearing weird sparky noises while using them and then the left headphone bud started shocking my ear and then it went to the right ear bud and kept shocking my fingers when I took them out. It was pretty weird and has definitely never happened with any other headphones I've had. There was no physical damage to them for them to break, they just randomly tried to explode when in use. Pretty disappointed. Now, because they malfunctioned I'll have to drop $30 for new ones... I'm just going to find actual good quality headphones and cut my losses. It was nice they lasted this long, but only a year? Now, that's cheap quality.

    Two pairs down

    The pair that come with my phone stopped working after a month. Finally bought another pair and that stopped working during my second run. The phone no longer registered the headphones and it played out of the regular speaker. NEVER had any problems like that with other headphones or lightning connectors before. Now I had to break down and buy the wireless headphones.

    Not good

    They broke within 6 months of me having them. There’s nothing wrong with them so I don’t know why they don’t work. Same with my ear buds I had befor they broke right away. I’m very disappointed because they are not cheap and I’m not happy that I have to buy new ones

    Over all I don’t recommend getting these they may sound good and the quality is just not there
    The quality of the earbuds them self are like doller store earbuds

    Apple Headphones Review

    I would say that these EarPods with Lightning Connector aren't long lasting because I brought an iPhone 7 Plus in December of 2017, and it came along with the EarPods. 6 months later, the mic and volume button on the EarPods wasn't working. I wasn't able to turn up or down the volume on my EarPods. I had to lower volume on my phone itself. Now it is nearly a year later, my EarPods is playing music on one side and the other side isn't playing music at all. I would suggest Apple find out why these EarPods break down easily less than a year. I'm still glad my iPhone 7 Plus is still functioning. I'm hoping the AirPods won't break that easily as these EarPods.
