    Can’t be more poorly designed for an apple product

    The design of the keyboard can’t be more stupid. The whole back is exposed, leading to unavoidable scratches and dents. The felt like inner surface attracts dirts and can’t be cleaned well. It flips backward so annoyingly easily, making it difficult to open with one hand. I guess the designer thinks the ipad is only used when you have both hands free doing nothing else on a perfectly clean surface.

    I had a Belkin keyboard for my previous ipad which provided great protection and easy of use/cleaning. I can’t wait for a Belkin like aftermarket product to replace this keyboard. What a waste of money for this keyboard.

    Disappointing

    We just returned our Smart Keyboard today, it had very limited protection for the Ipad and the keyboard seemed awkward to use. The keys were not back lit nor was there a storage spot for the Apple Pencil. Hoping a better design comes along soon.

    Virtually dilapidated.

    Not only was this Keyboard overly expensive after 20 months of use (collage student) it not doesn’t connect and the iPad says “ accessory not supported” and YES Apple I did restore my iPad and cleaned the connectors. This is so frustrating because now I have to buy a new Keyboard because it’s out of warranty (perfect timing on apples part) and my hands and neck hurt like crazy because of constantly having to look directly down to type. Oh and collage students usally don’t have $130+ laying around. I WILL NEVER BUY A APPLE ACCESSORY AGAIN. THANKS FOR DEFRAUDING STUDENTS APPLE.

    No back support

    This case works fine as a keyboard but I got it as a gift over the holidays and there’s no back coverage of the iPad. Now my ipad has small dents in the back of it. You would think for the price this would be more functional, but I guess apple only really cares about design and not usability. I’ll literally never buy another apple brand case after this.

    Not worth it

    My iPad stops responding to the Smart Keyboard way too often. If the iPad goes to sleep I have to disconnect and reconnect several times to get the keyboard to work. If I use the touch screen and go back to the keyboard, I have to disconnect and reconnect again several times. A replacement keyboard was sent to me, same issue. I had an appointment with the Genius Bar, they replaced my iPad, same issue. Unfortunately apple support on the phone and the person at the Genius Bar both said they didn’t know of this being an issue, so I have little hope of this being fixed. If you’re thinking about buying one, you may want to research other keyboards, this one is really frustrating.

    Started Great but nosedived

    Loved the product at first but now it is a waste of money as it hardly ever works without rebooting 2 or 3 times.

    That said the iPad itself is not as good as my previous ones

    Frustrating beyond belief

    Works maybe 30% of the time. After 47 attempts you arrive at the magical illusive impossible to find position ...and then for no reason the device stops working again. Complete disaster in a professional setting - worst apple product I have ever owned - Steve Jobs would be rolling over in his grave if he knew about this. Complete worthless garbage. Shame on you Apple.

    Keyboard fails

    With the latest iOS update my keyboard has started to fail consistently “Device Not Supported”. If I remove it and reconnect a few times it finally works like it did prior to the iOS update. In addition, in the middle of a typing session it will stop working. There are several posts in communities on how this keyboard fails and nothing from Apple related to such discussions. This is very typical of Apple, and I would highly recommend seeking an alternative.

    In addition - this keyboard does not have any means of backlighting, which several competing products have.

    We brought this expensive keyboard and no protection for your ipad. I wish we got a refund and brought Logitech instead. This product is overpriced. Most of my stuff are apple but this one is a failure. No pen holder either.��

    Apple's worst creation

    I love how the key is so sleek but there is no protection for the iPad. I'm very disappointed with my purchase. I'm planning to return it.
    Even after reading the reviews I thought I should give a try and ordered it. But the reviews are 100% correct. This product deserves a 0 star rating.

    Don’t buy it

    I bought this apple keyboard not once but twice and each time it’s has given me problems. Not so much with the usability side of it but more so when you connect it to the iPad. My advice is to look else where for another brand of keyboard and not to waste your money on this one.

    Sorry not good enough

    I bought one of these for my iPad Pro about a year ago and it has already failed. When attached, it continually disconnects and reconnects and so renders the product useless as you have the screen keyboard popping up then disappearing constantly. This is the first apple ‘product I have ever been disappointed by.

    Barely Functional When It Works

    Not much in the way of feature set. You can just type and cut and paste.....IF... you can get the keyboard to actually work. Every day I have to first detach the keyboard then boot the device (iPad 10.5 iOS 11) then re-attach the keyboard and then...possibly it will actually work. Most of the time I have to reset the device with the keyboard detached...then once it re-boots attach the keyboard and hope for the best. A _way_ overpriced kluge for such a great device.

    Poorly designed

    You are better off buying another brand of iPad Pro keyboard. The iPad will not stay up, nor will it stay in place even with the smallest touch to it. I am not sure who designed this as a suitable iPad keyboard, but you can find much better without paying a "premium" for an apple branded keyboard

    Keyboard functions 50% of the time.

    I purchased the Apple 10.5 IPAD Pro and it's companion Smart Keyboard on August 30, 2017. Since then it has been failing to function about 50% of the time. It simply quits responding. I try disconnecting it and reconnecting it several times but that doesn't usually work.
    A little while later, it begins working again. I have an appointment this afternoon with the Apple Geniuses for an attempted problem determination and fix.

    Apple keyboards, a failure

    Just purchased this with brand new iPad. It only works intermittently. When it stops working, I have to the remove case, power cycle, reattach the case and then it will work but only for a short while. Not worth the money, but it seems NONE of the Apple keyboards have great reviews. I will just be returning this product and purchasing something from Amazon.
