    Lasted 5 years and going to buy a new one

    I only wanted the front covered so the Ipad would slip into my purse easily and take up less space. My cover has served me well and now I am ready for a new one.

    Good product

    This product is fine, I like the pink color in person and I think the product is functional. I do not understand the other reviewers commenting on the magnet because the magnet is so strong I couldn’t have STOPPED IT from attaching to my iPad. This product only safeguards the front, which is silly to me, but I also get that the back of the iPad is very beautiful and it’s sad to cover it up. I just think there should be something in the main description about this because I’m not surprised shoppers would think it covers the entire device.

    A bit disappointed

    Bought the 6th generation iPad and the Midnight Blue Smart Cover. The iPad is white and the cover compliments it beautifully.

    - it’s slim and elegant, does not add builk to your iPad;
    - magnets align perfectly and it feels like Jobs described it - like the iPad was designed from day one with the cover in mind and vice-versa;
    - it has a smooth interior that cleans the screen whilst the cover is locked;
    - easy to clean.

    - the magnets come undone if you hold it horizontally and latch the cover to the back of the device, your cover is left dangling;
    - the magnets come undone if you apply a bit of pressure to it whilst in tent mode;
    - protection is minimal - just the front;

    To me, the main point of this is not to offer protection but to prop your iPad while you use it. I have no problem with it not covering the full device (there are plenty of covers that do this), but what really disappoints me is the fact that I am sitting on a desk with the iPad slowly raised and typing on it and the cover comes undone and collapses the whole thing. It was so embarrassing that a girl sitting in front of me started laughing at how clumsy this thing is. It’s unacceptable for such an expensive cover. Please make the magnets stronger.

    Poor coverage

    I am so disappointed and cant figure out how to return it. I have purchased covers over the years and they continue to get worse. It doesnt cover the back plus it keeps sliding of and doesnt fit. I so wanted it to work. Its a beautiful ipad i have to keep it safe. The envelope is nice but its not a stand and not sure it was money well spent.

    Last year i got an mac pro cover and it craked a few months later i should have known better

    iPad midnight blue Smart Cover

    I just received my new midnight blue Smart Cover for my new iPad (5th. generation) and I LOVE it! The midnight blue looks so good with my new, gold iPad. The magnet is super strong... exactly like my old black cover for my 2013 iPad. My new tablet and cover exhibit understated beauty and I am so pleased with the look of the gold and blue together. I am super careful with all my Apple products so this is the perfect cover for me! Open the magnetic cover and the iPad is on, close it and it turns off immediately, saving energy. Yes, I do love my new Apple iPad and my new Apple cover!

    Good case

    Bought this 1.5 yrs ago for my iPad Air 2, but now I am happy to find this case also works for my iPad6 upgrade. I read a previous review about the case scratching the iPad? Not my experience at all... there’s a soft fabric between the magnets. Anyways, I’m happy with the case.

    Wow! I feel swindled. 45$ CAD for something that only protects the front, and also that magnet comes out so easily if you have the iPad on your lap. This is easily 20-30$ overpriced.

    This is such a disappointment. I will have to return it.

    The magnet is too weak

    You would think that getting a case made by the same company the product came from is a safe bet right? Well apple proved me wrong. The magnet on the case is so weak. If you apply barely any pressure on the device in standing mode, the ipad just plops right off. I will never recommend this case to anyone. It actually increases your chances of dropping your ipad

    Great product

    Bought this for my 2017 iPad (standard 9.7”). Fits well, even holds on when I dangle the iPad down. Slim design doesn’t make my iPad bulky for in my hand or my bag. There are magnets that allign with the iPad so it’s always in the right spot and they hold the cover in the folded position so the case doesn’t fall down. All in all very satisfied with this product and goes well with the gold iPad.

    Wouldn't expect this from Apple

    This cover just doesn't work the way the other covers do. The magnet doesn't align with the iPad and it easily gets unattached from iPad. I would never expect low-quality product like this from Apple but there goes my 40 bucks..

    Get a case

    You will feel ripped off if you purchase this. Only covers one side. Seems about $20 overpriced for what it accomplishes.

    Great case for minimal protection

    Great case to show off the iPad beautiful design. It is minimal and classy. I'd recommend this case to those who are extremely careful of their device.

    Not as bad as everyone says

    My son just got an iPad, and we bought the cover to accompany it. I was worried about it falling off, since so many reviews talk about how weak the connection is compared to the older cover. (And yes, the older cover connects better -- we have one of those, too.) But it's not that bad. What is bad is that the back case isn't available at this point, and for a kid, that is important.

    weak magnet

    It's unfortunate that there aren't more case options for the new iPad 9.7. I wanted a full case (back and cover) but the smart cover is currently the only option. The magnet is so weak that it won't hold the iPad upright horizontally and won't stay connected when holding it vertically in one hand. Incredibly over-priced at $40 and useless to boot.

    there are 2 dust lines visible down the screen but works as for covering the screen while portable.

    Good, quality product

    The cover is nice and light, yet sturdy and well made. It's held in place by strong magnets. Perfect for protecting the screen and for use as a stand. The last Apple Smart Cover I had lasted for years. Holds up very well.

    Love this cover

    It is very light, and installed perfectly with its very powerful magnets. The microfiber inside is soft. I love my new iPad and cover!

    I recently purchased the 2017 iPad to replace my now almost useless iPad 2. The new iPad is fantastic and is sold at a very reasonable price. However, this Smart Cover for the new iPad is much lighter and feels cheaper than the one I had on my iPad 2. Seriously, when I picked it up I thought a part of it was missing - it's so light.

    The magnet that holds the cover on is quite strong, but the metal hinge design from the iPad 2 Smart Cover is missing on this product.

    It looks just as nice when it's on the iPad though. I hope it lasts as long as my new iPad does.
