Overall Disappointing, scratches, dust, cracks, etc...

    • Written by James B from broadview heights

Overall this case is really disappointing, it's my first clear case and I wouldn't buy another. It scratches like crazy, I mean within a few days is started to show scratches all over the back, next issue is it shows all dirt and if your phone gets wet the water bubbles show up everywhere. To take the case off is extremely difficult and I'm almost afraid I'm going to break the phone or it's going to go flying and break. Last issue is when it was about 3 months old I dropped the phone and the case cracked...apple replaced it but it seems crazy to me that a 40 dollar, 3 month old case would crack when dropped. The only good part about it is when new, clean, and unscratched it looks beautiful :), and it does protect the phone.

Worst Apple product I have ever owned

    • Written by David D from West Malling

Took this straight back for a refund, wish I had read the reviews on here before purchasing with my new iPhone XR. At £45 you would expect this to be one of the best cases for the iPhone XR. Far from it. Mine had a manufacturing fault on the inside of the case that was visible on the back due to the transparent nature of the product. The case is way too thick - adding bulk to an already thicker than average phone. And as others have noted, getting the case on and off your phone takes patience, strength and a lot of time. Then there’s the fingerprinting issue. The shiny nature of the case means it never looks clean. OK, so I opted for the black phone that creates a mirror-like back surface, but I’m sure it will also be a problem with other phone colours. Best avoided in my opinion. Hope Apple takes note and makes the standard silicone case available for this model iPhone at some point.

The product is not cheap, it costs a lot. Here there are the good and the bad:
-Is a unique piece of plastic, which is a pleasure to see
    -It fits like a glove
-Camera cut out protects the camera
-Is so hard to take out the phone from the cover, 'cause the cover is really, really, really tight
-On off button becomes hard to press, so it is for up and down's volume buttons
-You cannot clean the dust that goes undercover because of the first reason
    -Micro scratch everywhere
At the end, the product is barely 6/10, so make your considerations.

    Zero Zero Zero

    • Written by Lauren K from MIAMI

This case is not worth it. before putting the case on my brand new phone i made sure to wipe it clean of every piece of dirt. but instead of dirt or smudges i got a huge contact bubble in the back. the case is so hard that even trying to take it off is impossible. i've had the case less than two weeks and it's already super scratched from regular careful use. not happy.

low quality in comparison to most other Apple iPhone cases

    • Written by Hannah P from Cincinnati

The ambition of this case is to "show off" the color of your iPhone XR, however the quality of this case is much lower than the Silicon cases that I am a loyal fan of. Here are my biggest complaints: 1. The case is too tight, and creates a weird suction bubble on the back, interrupting the idea of "showing off" the color of your phone. 2. The plastic makes your hand clammy if you've been hold it too long, also making it slippery, which is one of the things I intend to offset by opting to have a case in the first place. 3. It is much much harder to get on and off than the silicon cases, I honestly feel like I am doing damage to the phone when I do it. 4. As is normal, little crumbs and stuff get under the edges of the case, but because it is unforgivingly clear, you see it.

Overall, I would not recommend anyone buy this case, I had it on for 1-2 weeks and opted to buy a silicon one on Amazon. Just another thing Apple has completely fudged up in the last year.

    Great Look

    • Written by Elena B from West Hollywood

I spent hours researching clear phone cases. I read reviews, watched videos etc. Every amazon "15 dollar or less" clear case had at-least one (or more) review stating that the FIRST TIME they dropped their phone (in the cheap case) the screen or back cracked. I did not want to risk it and I trusted Apple's product more from the other brands. I am glad I went with it! The look is great, almost invisible, and it has protected my phone from daily wear. The main reason any review I read or video I watched did not like this case was because of the price. Sure it's 40 dollars, and to some degree overpriced, but it is also from Apple and when has Apple ever sold anything cheap. You already spent 750-900 on the phone, what is another 40 to protect it? Thats about the same cost as going out to dinner one time. It does have a "rainbow" glare in certain light...but that was a plus for my taste. In general, the glare isn't noticeable. The case is a thicker plastic that almost feels like a blend of plastic and silicon. It shows off the phone nicely and another plus for me was that there is no logo on the case. I do not prefer to have words or logos so that is why I chose this over the Otterbox clear case. I do not drop my phone very often. When I have, it was always a casual drop (usually carpet or tile bathroom floor) and have never cracked a phone. If you are someone who drops your phone daily, I would recommend a stronger case. (look into mous cases - they have a clear option) One more thing, as for the air bubbles, they are not in the case. It is the air between the case and your phone. If you notice air bubble press both sides of your phone with both your thumb and index finger. The bubbles will go away instantly. If you have 40 dollars to spend, please do not waste your time debating between amazon's cheaper selection of clear cases. Just order this one.

Not bad, well, The only kind of style case i could find.

    • Written by John D from Ventnor City

I'm please with almost everything about it. Its just that its really a dust and scratch conductor. But I know how to clean the case to the point where the dust is not visible and I'm not that irritated with the scratches. The only thing that does, is my greasy hands on the case that makes it slippery. But thats not the reason why I gave it a 4 star. It was just the dust buildup issue and easily scratched. Protects the phone well though. Nice and clear, No thickness and the only case with no bumps in the bottom to not mess up my swipe up gesture. As I said, the only case here with not bottom bumps really. I was wondering if you'll ever make a Iphone XR clear case 2.0? where it is more on the rubber side. It conducts less dust too.

    Disappointed by Apple

    • Written by Adrián S from Ames

I handle my iphone with exceptional care, it has never been dropped or scratched, however the case after two months of use has a crack in the bottom (where the charger) and every day is bigger, it will end up breaking. I called Apple and they told me that that is not covered by the guarantee. It lasts less than a € 1 Aliexpress case. It is the first Apple product that disappoints me in full. Buy a cheaper one, at least you do not have to expect anything from it

    It's fine

    • Written by Andrew W from Bromley

The negative reviews on this case seem overdone, I thought I would try to bring some balance:
    - good fit
    - allows you to enjoy the colour of your XR
    - feels tough and hardwearing
    - no sign of discolouration yet

    - can be slippy, particularly if you have cold or wet hands, but for the most part this isn't a big issue
    - makes an already big phone bulkier.

I haven't had the problems others have had around bubbles etc - I have used a lens cloth on both phone and case before putting them together. I do agree that Apple should also offer the standard silicone and leather cases too - why the XR has so little choice is very puzzling.

Literally any other case would be better

    • Written by Christopher K from Lindenhurst

This case is another swing and a miss from apple. The XS/XS Max get Leather cases and Rubberized cases, this phone gets a well designed plastic case that is way too easy to drop. Its extremely slippery and after a few weeks of use, doesn't get any better, just worse. The debris under the case is very visible and disgusting. worst of all, this it the ONLY apple manufactured case. Pretty poor showing from apple.

    Unbelievably Lazy Design

    • Written by Thomas A from Washington

The iPhone XR Clear Case does protect the phone from drops, that's nice. After that, it's fundamentally flawed. The plastic is so thick it makes your new XR feel as thick as a phone from five years ago. The plastic is not rigid, but it isn't flexible either, which means that the case is extremely difficult to get on or off.

This wouldn't be an issue if the case was better sealed to the phone, but because dust and moisture can get between the case and the phone, it renders the case useless and disgusting. Put it in your pocket one time and any dust in your pockets is now caked around the bezel of the phone. Dare to have your phone in a mildly humid environment and moisture will cause the case to stick to the phone in some places and not others, like a poorly done window tint.

I buy Apple for the fit and finish of their products - when I buy a product from Apple I don't expect to look at it the next day and think "really?" - and yet here we are.

Exactly what I was looking for

    • Written by NIKIFOROS S from New York

I read some negative reviews before buying this case but I went ahead and bought it anyway. I have no idea what people are complaining about... this case is perfect for my blue XR. Fits perfectly, it’s light and minimal. I wanted a clear case that can still showcase my beautiful blue XR. Opening on bottom of case for speakers also makes it nice for swiping up from bottom of screen for gestures. The case is NOT slippery as some folks complain about and I have NO bubbles on the back of the case again as some people have complained about. Of course it’s a tad expensive at $39 but aren’t most cases out there? I love this case and I am very happy with this purchase.

    Overpriced Garbage

    • Written by Simon R from Immingham

Total waste of money. If you want the equivalent of an £800 bar of wet soap this is the case for you. All I can think is it’s designed to increase revenue from Applcare. Every time you pick up your phone you risk it slipping out of your hands.

    Nice but BEWARE!

    • Written by Aaron F from Saskatoon

This case is beautiful! Like seriously it is awesome looking it feels great in your hand and doesn't leave a ton of finger prints. But I did return it, why? Because the cases volume buttons do not click enough for me, the case doesn't provide very good protection, and finally the big one IT LEFT A SCUFF ON MY PHONE! Now the scuff was not big and I managed to rub it off but I am not using a case that leaves marks on my phone. PLEASE APPLE MAKE A SILICONE OR LEATHER CASE FOR THE XR!

Purchased this case when getting my new iPhone and the phone is scratched already from a fall. The open design around the bottom is NOT smart. Waste of money as I am already buying a different case that covers the whole phone.

This should get NO stars if possible

    • Written by Peter B from Whitstable

I have been buying Apple products, from high-end computers to iPod socks(!), for the last 30 years, and this is the worst piece of rubbish I have ever had the misfortune to buy. Fit and finish are good, but you need the strength of a bodybuilder to operate the volume and on/off buttons. Almost impossible to "double-click" on/off to use Apple Pay! With my iPhone 6 and 7, I bought the silicone and leather case, respectively, and they were great. Surely Apple can repeat that for the XR. Or are we not valuable customers?

Slippery as a Bar of Soap

    • Written by keith S from Huddersfield

Well made case in respect of fit - but oh dear me - having owned five iphones and never dropping any of them I have dropped my new XR twice already following the fitting of the Apple XR clear case. Apple a company besotted with attention to detail and the setting of the highest standards - have apparently not applied that ethos to this product thats for sure. The case is extremely slippery to hold and gives little in the way of an assured grip of your iPhone. This is disappointing especially having paid Apple's top dollar price.
To overcome this I have resorted to sandpapering each side wall of the case which has improved the grip enormously.
Not impressed Apple - I feel ripped off and let down big time by Apple having forked out £45.

    Eliminated the bubbles

    • Written by Christine G from West Chester

I loved the idea of a clear case for my red xr but hated the air bubbles that were a constant presence and detractor. In a fit of frustration, I decided to actually wash the case with dish detergent; I used Dawn. After a thorough rinse and dry, I snapped it back on and voila: no bubbles. It's been 3 days and the phone still looks great. I gave this product only 3 stars because the case scratches easily even with careful handling (I've only had the phone and case 2 months) and the visible fingerprints are a nuisance.

    Terrible Case!

    • Written by Niels T from Basingstoke

I bought myself a new XR on Thursday and a clear case to go with it. I agree with everything said in previous reviews and wish I had read them before buying this case. I have actually ended up picking my new phone up with two hands for fear of it slipping out of my hand. Using this case makes my hand clammy for fear of dropping the phone which causes greasy marks to appear all over the case.
