    Contact marks are very disappointing

    • Written by Hugh T

I exchanged the case because of patchy contact marks it left at the centre of the back of my red xr to no avail. The whole purpose of the case is to show off the colour of the phone but I am unable to recommend this case to our customers for this reason. It is a great shame, given the limited range of XR cases currently available.

    Great fit

    • Written by Kritesh S from Edmonton

It fits great. You’ll get ‘contact patches’ and ‘air bubbles’ if your hands are greasing up the case or phone prior to fitting it. Just keep things clean and you’re good to go.

Awful buttons, bubbles, overpriced for quality

    • Written by Jeff H from Woodland Park

Awful quality: the buttons are the worst things I've ever touched. I have to death grip my phone to click them. My wife's Sonix is great and the buttons are wonderful. Also, there's a weird bubble on the back.

    Pretty good

    • Written by Jalen P from Oro Valley

The case doesn’t slip out of your hand and does not leave bubbles as some people rated it bad since theirs did. However the case does leave a ton of fingerprints when touching it. But great case overall Apple!

Shame it’s not available in leather

    • Written by Simon H from Stourbridge

I’ve had an Apple leather case, of pretty much the same design, protecting my iPhone 6 flawlessly for a little over 4 years. This one seems just as snug, just as strong and just as, well, Apple! After fitting, then having to work hard to remove it because I’d forgotten to transfer my SIM (DOH!), I’m very confident this case isn’t going anywhere unless I intend it to. My only disappointment is that it’s not available in leather - I’ll miss that feel in my hand. If it protects my phone as well as my old faithful Apple leather case protected my iPhone 6, I’ll be a very happy camper.

    A little slippery

    • Written by Garret D from Sproul

The case looks amazing and fits the phone very well but my only complaint is that the case is slippery and I fear the phone will slip from my hand

    Too slippery to handle

    • Written by Alastair M from Cheltenham

This case is far too slippy, you will most likely drop your iPhone XR, you will be dissappointed if you expect it to be like the silicon cases. I have returned the one I bought my sister for christmas.

Had the case on for only a few hours. Case is has several deep scratches from normal use such as setting the phone on my desk or having it in my pocket. No drops or hard falls. Disappointed for an apple case. Please make a silicone case for the XR

    Zero stars, here’s why.

    • Written by Lisa H from Indiana

I would have never bought the XR had I known it would prevent me from having an apple silicone case. The silicone case made all the difference in terms of usage and not dropping the phone. This clear case sounds loud every time I lay it down and I’ve dropped my phone half a dozen times. I NEVER dropped my phone when I had the option of a silicone case. Please don’t buy the XR because you’re forced to buy this awful case that is not typical apple quality. You cannot properly use the side buttons, you can see a rainbow on the case when even third party cases were able to prevent this design flaw. I never knew that upgrading my phone would be a downgrade in terms of one of the most important aspects of the phone: the case. What made apple think every consumer of this phone wants the same case? All other models have options and aren’t discriminated upon. This is wrong on so many levels and needs fixed immediately.

    Air bubbles

    • Written by Teresita C from Burnaby

The fitting of the case is perfect, just like the rest of the apple cases, but there are a few air bubbles. They aren’t noticeable, but it’s just annoying to see. It can also get stretches if you are not careful.

    Worth the Money

    • Written by Marissa S from Allerton

The plastic is of really nice quality and fits perfectly. Only complaint is that it makes it a bit slippery to hold, and the buttons were a bit stiff but they have already broken in a bit.

Nice but has a major flaw

    • Written by Andrew G from NAPLES

Great looking case in theory. However when the case goes on I have about a quarter sized unsightly air bubble that is on the back. This totally ruins the clean aesthetic I believe apple (and myself) were going for. The case still will provide great protection even with the air bubble but it just bothers me every time I see the unsightly air bubble ruining the clean aesthetic of my new iPhone.

    A great clear case

    • Written by Adrea J from Maple Ridge

I like clear cases, I’ve tried 20 or thirty clear cases, different brands, for many versions of iPhones (3 and up). They all mostly do the job but there’s nothing “wow” about them. I didn’t think there could be anything “wow” about a clear case. I, like everyone else, said $60CA was ridiculous for a case we can get for $5-25. But I wanted to try the clear case since it was Apple’s first in a while. Turns out it is “wow”. It does everything those cheaper cases do (protect the phone) but what stands out is the fit (it’s super snug) and the thickness (it’s still a clear thin case but it also somehow feels like there’s more to it and it has strength, which will likely protect the phone better while also not making your new thin phone feel fat). It’s hard to get a scratch resistant clear case (without any branding) for super cheap so that’s a great feature. It also feels very smooth & gives the phone grip. If you’re a clear case afficianto you’ll really get it. So, I think it’s better than what’s out there and worth the investment.

Fits great, looks great but ...

    • Written by Deidre C from Brooklyn

As a former user of Apple's Silicone cases for many years, I am finding that there are two things I am not happy about with this clear case. One is that it is quite difficult to remove - I feel like I'll bend the phone trying to get it off. The second thing I am not happy with is that it is just too slippery! It slipped off the seat in my car and I had to search under the seat for it, and it also slipped off my nightstand while charging overnight. I am trying hard to get used to it, but I will return it within 30 days if I'm still not happy with it. I'm hoping that Apple comes up with a similar case with silicone around the edges in the near future.

    Beautiful but Flawed

    • Written by Brendan N from Warrenton

I really liked the case and was looking forward to having an Apple made case for the XR. The whole point of having a clear case with a XR is to see the color of your phone. However the air bubbles are impossible to get rid of on the case and as a result really ruins the appearance of the case on the phone.

    Kinda pricey

    • Written by Ronald L from Syracuse

Well I have always liked apple leather cases in the past. It’s been interesting trying XR cases, I’m very good with my phones. Maybe a fall out of my packet from furniture or vehicles. Like slim and minor protection, that said I like this case and texh21 pureclear, other clear cases are made of the cheap flexible TPU. Those cases seem to collect lint and dirt, a lot like apples silicone cases. The construction of this clear case is like they took the leather case base and polished it clear. It’s a hard with little flex like apples leather case. It is little slippery, no water distortion on back. At day one seems to collect pocket lint or crud same as the tech21. Hoping it’s tight enough that the crud won’t get between the case and phone.

    Bubbles on back of phone

    • Written by Joshua M from Roseville

When I got the case there was almost immediately bubbles on the back of my phone. I tried getting rid of them and they kept coming back. I even re-placed my case with another of the same kind of case and it still had bubbles. Very disappointed.

    Awesome case!

    • Written by Christian J from Wheat Ridge

In the past, I have always used third party cases so I was a bit hesitant in ordering what seemed like a generic case from Apple. Like many XR owners, I wanted a case that protected it while showing off the personality and color. The case material feels like a heavy duty hard plastic with some rubbery elements. It slightly bends when you twist it without the phone inside but by no means feels cheap or flimsy. I've had it for about a week and had zero issues. I've dropped my phone twice, once on carpet, once on bathroom tile floor and both times the phone was cushioned from the falls. Having the lip absent from where you swipe up to navigate on the bottom makes navigation a breeze.

My only gripe is volume and home buttons require a little harder of a squeeze but hoping with time this breaks in. Some lint gets caught around case lip but nothing too far off from any other case i've owned. I am also hoping no yellowing will occur with time.

I had been considering a $30 Spigen clear case and my girlfriend has a $50 Otterbox clear case and this Apple XR Clear Case seems to fall somewhere in between in being both sleek in style and heavy duty in protection. No branding is also a big plus for me!

    Contact Bubble On Back

    • Written by Stephen M from Wrightwood

I have the black XR and noticed a big contact bubble on the back under the Apple logo. I've taken the case off and put it back on numerous times in an effort to get rid of it, but the contact bubble remains. Kinda detracts from the look of the phone in the case. Makes the case almost unusable in my opinion.
