    Waste of Money

    • Written by Sara T from weaverville

My first pair of beats were the studio 3 wireless, and they are absolutely fantastic (still using them currently, had them for almost a year). I had high expectations since my studio 3s are amazing, and I bought these to wear at work. I've had them for less than a month and they aren't working. They're doing the whole "red and white light" thing everyone else complains about. From what I've heard, these are just super faulty, which if that's true, why does Apple continue to make them? I'm upset that I spent so much for them to break. Definitely won't buy these again.

    Horrible

    • Written by Yuki S from 池袋

If I can give no star, I will do it.
Terribly poor signal detection. I am using it to listen to music by connecting to my iPhone. The music just stops suddenly if I did not put it near my iPhone. I cannot listen to my music smoothly. I don't spend 100 bugs to buy rubbish!
Even the wireless Bluetooth earphone with much lower price do not have such poor connection!

    Quality control

    • Written by Brandon F from Mississauga

I’m experiencing the same connectivity issues as others have mentioned here. The earbuds will completely turn off, without input even with a sufficient charge (60%+). Charging them seems hit or miss recently as the light indicator for charging flashes white/red showing the earbuds are not charging at all. Factory reset (volume down + power until the light comes on) hasnt worked and seems to be a temporary fix. Disappointing after 6 months of use

    Awful

    • Written by Joe B from Boothstown

I’ve had three pairs over the last year and a bit, all of them have died the same way, a white and red light keeps flashing, refusing to connect to my device. Taken them to apple and there’s nothing they can do, if it’s after a year they won’t replace them either.

    Don't waste your $$$

    • Written by Lisa H from Inglewood

On my 4th pair and that red and white light always returns. I can't charge the headphones AGAIN. Sound is great but I shouldn't have to go threw the same thing every time. Trash the model and make a new one or replace my pair with a different model.

    Great - until they die

    • Written by Dominic B from London

Had mine for just over a year and then they suddenly died (out of warranty).

I looked after them, no damage, no heat, no water. One day I got a red and white flashing light when connected to a power source and then they just don't turn on anymore.

Terrible build quality. Waste of money.

    Terrible quality control

    • Written by Andrew M from New Taipei City

I didn’t like mine at first, but when I changed the tips to Comply the sound was a completely different ball game.

After that I found them pretty good fun, although there was noise from the cables rubbing against my shirt, and they never stayed flat enough for the magnets to click together. I used a larger storage bag, as the plastic thingy they come with is useless (much too small).

Then - at about 7 months - they just stopped working, which I thought was odd as I was very careful with the cables when putting them away. Apple ‘fixed’ them, which took 10 days. I did not get an extended warranty. Then they failed again at 13 months. This time Apple wanted $96 to fix them. Why? So that they could fail again 1 month later and I’d have to pay another $96?

Really terrible quality control. I cannot believe Apple continue to sell them. Mine are binned, and I will never buy earphones / headphones from Apple again.

ps the Sony Bluetooth over ear headphones (WH-H900N) I bought before the BeatsX still work brilliantly; never a single problem. So it can’t be that hard to do.

    They Break so easily

    • Written by James B from chippenham

I've had my beats X for around 5 months, they broke, like all the other comments on here. However, I will give credit to Apple when it is due, as they broke within 5 months they were still in warranty and sent them off for repair, within 3 WD I got sent a new pair , However, I fear that they will also break in 5 months time and if they do I will dramatically change the tone of this review. so currently this review can stay at a 3. I hope they have sent me a new durable model.

    Terrible quality

    • Written by Aleksa I from New York

These headphones are very convenient and decent sounding , but as you can see from other reviews, they fail very frequently. Im on my second pair and they failed again. Same thing happened like with the first one, they just suddenly stopped powering on. This is a wide spread issue and I think apple should release extended warranty program or recall them altogether.

    Worked well, but died prematurely.

    • Written by Jacob H from O Fallon

The cable inside will weaken and eventually dislodge over time. They worked really well for over a year until they started occasionally turning off, not connecting, pressing the button would only show the three blinks. Don’t buy. They should last longer than 18 months.

First the right ear stopped working then it refused to start altogether

    • Written by Srinivas R from Buffalo

The earphone is terrible. I got it in July 2018. The right ear stopped working by November 2018 and it refused to start in June 2019. The ear tips that get support from the earlobes broke in October 2018. I could see the mesh of both the sides of the earphones completely damaged. I was also very careful with the earphone. The sound quality is decent - bass is not overpowering and good enough. Honestly, I liked the audio more of the apple wired earphones that came with the iPhone 7. I managed to negotiate and get a replacement in early July 2019 - least I could do to make worth my $100. I am prepared for this one to fall apart as well.

    Terrible

    • Written by Charles Y from Salinas

I know Beats aren’t known for great sound quality, but I was looking for something a little better than AirPods with some decent sound and bass response to wear while running in the gym, which is pretty loud. These have a much worse EQ response than even AirPods. Highs cut through extremely sharp and you can barely hear any low end. Instead you get the really sharp mid/high parts of kicks and bass. Music just sounds like it’s being played out of a tin can directly into your ear.

On top of that, despite being in ear, these keep falling out while running. I’ve had them on for less than an hour but already these are one of the worst earbuds I have ever purchased, returning these ASAP.

    Bad Product

    • Written by Markred M from Daly city

The product was fine and working well, but after several charge cycles it will not turn on immediately as it should. I tried resetting it and it worked for a very short period of time. Now it is completely useless. It is a shame that a product with that price tag can only last for less than half a year. Really disappointed.

BAD ! i have been changed by three times for the same topic.

    • Written by Vianey M from DF

when i bought them it was great because the sound and cancelling noise, was so good. Then they had some problem and it had been 8 months since i brought them, and apple changed them, then it was ok for next 13 months, and apple changed again and i had to pay por this change, then it was ok by 6 months (recently) and i went to apple and they said that i have to pay again for a product that doesn't have to much time of life. so for me in the rule cost benefit with this earphones i got lost my money and i disappointment with the product.

    Do Not Purchase

    • Written by Ashley B from Jacksonville

I had my BeatsX for about 7 months. I keep them stored in a dry place at room temp. They started to not power on. I would get the three white lights and that’s it. Well I did a simple google search and realized this is a common issue. I found complaints all the way back to 2017. I have a one year warranty so surely apple would fix them at no cost. Well of course they did NOT. They now say my beats have physical damage because the charging port is cracked. Well I do another simple google search and apparently this is a common issue also. The port cracks easily. Now if apple knows these are common issues with their product, why is this not something covered under the warranty. People spend their hard earned money on your products and we can’t even get products that are reliable. I know you can’t guarantee every product to be flawless but at least have the warranty to cover these said flaws. I am very disappointed in apple and will not be purchasing any more beats.

don't buy this product faulty design waste of money

    • Written by Filmon W from calgary

i bought this item in mid 2017 after about 8 months one side stopped working- - i had to ship it back to apple to get a replacement within a couple of weeks. last week after about 15 months of getting the replacement it stopped working altogether red and white lights blinking.

this is happening to a lot off people when i went to the apple store to ask about the cost of fixing it -- there were SIX other people looking to get
    replacements.

    • Written by Kristina M

I've now had 3 pairs of these within the last year and a half. Like other reviews have stated, each time they randomly just stop working and alternate between blinking red and white. I've reset them re-paired you name it I've done it and nothing works. The beats I had prior to the BeatsX also broke multiple times. I'm done - I'll get my replacements and keep them as a back back BACK up but Im done with beats.

Used Fewer than 10 times and they broke

    • Written by Elisabeth B from Baton Rouge

My dad got these and didn't ever use them so he gave them to me. Used them a few times and then forgot about them for a while. Tried to use them again and they won't turn on even when fully charged. Out of warranty so apple refuses to help and wants $79 to repair them. Don't waste your money on these.

    Love these headphones

    • Written by Evan B from Okmulgee

I preordered the first generation of BeatsX back in 2017 when they first came out. I have had no issues with them and audio quality is amazing. I don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews on here about them. I can only assume Apple/beats dropped the ball on the newer generations maybe. But I absolutely love mine :)
