    Great...when they work

    • Written by Caitlyn B from Seekonk

One of my favorite pairs of earbuds I've ever owned. Sound quality is great, battery life is good. Unfortunately, like other people, I have the same problem with the red and white flashing light.

The earbuds turn off and don't connect. The power button flashes between red and white. When you plug them in and unplug them, you can connect for about 15 seconds before the process repeats over. This has happened to me with two pairs now, one 9 months after I started using them and the other about 7 months. Thankfully, Apple's customer service is great and easy to work with to resolve the problem, I just wish they didn't break as often as they do.

    Less accessories same price?

I lost my first pair, so I ordered a new set. Open the box and no wing tips of carrying case. Had I known that I would not have ordered them just on principle since I paid the same as my first pair.

Nice headphones I guess. But they only work for a couple months and then stop working. Never buying beats again. DO NOT PURCHASE!

I'm on my second pair of BeatsX that stopped working the same way as my original ones. The second pair is a replacement pair that is not the same model as I gave into repair and was bullied to accept as the only option if I want a working pair of headphones.
The warranty only covers a year from the original purchase which I've been out of for only a few days after the second pair broke with the result that there is no option than paying a hefty fee to get them fixed. And the fix also only comes with the usual 90day warranty by apple. I know a few people having BeatsX and only one person had a pair that hasn't broken so far. There is obviously something massively wrong with the engineering of them which Apple is able to install an action plan for that only benefits Apple selling a non-functioning yet expensive product.

    Don’t waste your money

    • Written by Emily G from South Shields

I got these as a Christmas present in 2017, I used them for a year and they broke. I took them back and got a new pair, they then broke again and I got told I’d have to pay £70 for a renewal (even though it wasn’t my fault, it was a manufactures fault). I offered to pay the £70 and more to get a longer warranty on them and was told that was not possible. There are much better earphones out there for cheaper and don’t break on you twice in the space of a year. Don’t waste your money honestly!

I loved these headphones. Connecting and switching between my Apple devices was a breeze. Sound quality was great as far as I was concerned. I loved how they are sound isolating. They worked perfect blocking out other noise on my bus commute. Unfortunately the batteries died 11 months into owning them. Luckily it was covered under warranty and Apple replaced them at no charge to me. 6 months later my replacement pair no longer function properly. There is an issue in the wiring of the neck band which cause the power to go in and out as it is lightly shifted. I chatted with Apple support and was told they they are only covered under my original pair's warranty (that expired 5 months ago). I want to clarify that I was not a heavy headphone user. I never used them in the rain or working out. I only stored them in the provided silicone case. Very disappointed with BeatsX. Wont be buying another pair of Beats again unless they make some serious improvements on build quality and longevity.

It is not a question of if, but when these earphones will break. in 12 months they broke five times, four different ways. Great sound, battery life and bluetooth connection but they will break on you within 3 months with light usage.

    absolutely WORST

    • Written by Adrianna P from Romford

i would even give one star.
they are the worst headphones ive ever owned.
i got these as a gift, all worked fine until 9 months later when just suddenly stopped working.
i had them replaced not ONLY ONCE but like 4 times in the last 6 month.
i just gave up. its the most irritating thing not having working headphones.
quality is very similar to other brands. i am currently using the VAVA wireless headphones and im less annoyed.

i know this is an ongoing issue with the headset as 3 other people i know had the same issue.
although the customer service team is really good, i just dont think its fun to go through all the steps and still get no good result.

dont get them cause even if you use them once a week they will still break.
ive had it. get your game up BEATS.

Not worth the premium price that is asked for Beats X!

    • Written by Mayank M from Delhi

I have been reading about many people and me myself experienced the same. The headphones just stopped working in one side right about after the warranty expired and the price for replacement is almost the same as purchasing them again. Why would one bother to pay a premium price for a niche product if it would not last more than a year? Aren't we better off with cheap products that offer much and are really cheap. Apple has certainly lost its premium build quality and brand value. I have been a long time Apple product user having everything from an iPod to iMac, but I think it is time to break this association and start looking at other better options.

    Very Good Headphones.. Except...

    • Written by Haris W from Toronto

I received the Beats X back in the winter season of 2017. For the first year, they were very good. The W1 chip made pairing very quick with my iPhone, and sound quality was very respectable. Sound isolation was also very good. However, 9 months after using them, the dreaded blinking lights occurred. I tried everything to fix them, but it ended up with me making a trip to the Apple Store and having them shipped off to the warehouse for repairs. I got them back a week later and everything was good until just recently. The right earphone itself died, out of the blue. I have yet to find a fix, and at this point am pretty sure they are unfixable with what I can do. I contacted Apple once again, and now since my Beats X are out of warranty, I would have to pay $99+tax CAD for a repair. At that point, I may as well buy a new pair of headphones all together.

Died just after warranty period expired

    • Written by Sarah G from Denver

These headphones were great, worked and sounded fine, until I'd used them for 1 year and 3 months. They then started dropping connection after 10-15 seconds, with the lights blinking red & white. Neither a hard reset nor a software update fixed them. The Apple store told me I could purchase a replacement for $80 since the warranty period is over, but after reading all of the similar reviews, I'm not eager to pay $80 every year to buy these over and over.

On the second one now - Just horrible

    • Written by Simran D from South Plainfield

I really liked the form factor of these headphone. However the build quality is just very poor. The first one I got did not want to charge or connect to any device after 6-8 months of use. Red and white light just keeps blinking when trying to charge. The second one will not hold charge for even an hour, whats the point of the wireless headphones then. Anyway would suggest look for other alternatives.

    Qulity is bad!

    • Written by Yulan A from Belmont

I bought this new beats earphone in Bestbuy at the end of last April, it starts turning to the highest volume or lowest volume automatically within one month. I went to the apple store and they gave me a new replacement. But the right side of earphone stopped working 10 months later, I still have one more month warranty left, I sent it to the apple store to repair a few days ago, and I got an email from the store today asking me to pay $79 to repair, that's ridiculous, I kept it very well and never drop it or even bent it ( I always hang it on my neck or a hook), and I didn't see any damage before I sent it to store, they said it was damaged, how do I know if they damaged it when they tried to repair?! I had a cheap wireless earphone bought from China before, it worked very well and never had any problem for two and half years until the battery was dead. But for BeatsX Earphones, it cost much more, the first new one only last less than one month, the second new one last 10 months, and the service asked for payment even it's still in warranty and I couldn't find anywhere to talk with them in that webpage! Don't suggest to buy this product!

    - connectivity issues: they connect and moments later disconnect, would reset them and the cycle continued
    - wont turn off: indicator light mix of red and white. cant reset it. charging does nothing

    Battery defect

    • Written by Rachel H from Calgary

They have been working great for months and all of a sudden they began to randomly not turn on just this week. Now when charging them I get a series of red and white blinking lights and if I unplug them they wont turn on. I have tried a factory reset and even tried holding down the center and power button while plugged untill the lights turned off and that still did not work. They won't even connect to beats updater since they wont turn on. Any suggestions?

Ever since I got the Beats x I have been listening to music. I love these things I used to hate Beats but now after trying them on they have incredible sound and look incredible. My only complaint is that the carrying case is flimsy and small. Overall these are a great buy.

Mine just broke out of the warranty period. This should be grounds for a class action law suit. I've had 3 die on me, each time after about a year and a half. so many others say the same here. I regret not buying them in australia, consumer law would have fixed it.
