Stay away: Awful experience both with product and customer service

    • Written by james A from rutherford

I purchased these and was super excited to receive them. Unfortunetely after two charges the left one stopped working, something I have now read is a common fault with the charging case.

After hours of chat on live chat to Apple support and an hour phone call they refuse to send me a replacement without cost to me. I expected better from Apple who normally have such good support.

    Simply not good

    • Written by Ashton L from Panama city

I bought a pair of these for my wife and she simply doesn't like them. So, I tried them out and I am not a fan of them either. There is very little to no sound suppression, no active noise cancelation, they chip easy, they scratch easy, they get dirty easily, and just don't sound all that amazing in comparison to my IEMs. I thought I could use them while at the gym but they fall out too easily. For the price, they aren't worth it from my experience.

    Worth Every Penny!

These are by FAR the best headphones on the face of the earth! The sound is clear and the battery lasts about 5 and a half hours between charges. Works excellent with my iPhone Xs and iMac! Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for new headphones!

    Problematic with Apple Watch

    • Written by Steven S from Austin

I bought these on the day they were released but returned them. They don't work well with Apple Watch 4 + cellular. When watch moves from iPhone pairing to cellular, the Airpods don't make the transition and fail to connect. My Bose Soundsports work seamlessly with Apple Watch and sound better too.

I was very skeptical about buying these, I've always been prone to getting in ear head phones. But after all the hype I finally decided to get them, and I have never been more happier in my life. They are very secure when walking or working out. The only negative things about them are that if you get very sweaty then they become a bit slippery. However they never fall out which surprises me. The sound is really crisp and sharp, exactly how I like it. If you're on the fence about it then I hope this review puts you on the side where you decide to get it. I will advocate for everyone to buy a pair. They're amazing.

    Truly amazing product

    • Written by Joshua W from Oldsmar

Wow! It’s not every day that a purchase makes me realize I’m living in the future. No one with AirPods should ever take their privilege for granted. These things bring exceptional sound to your ears, which many headphones do at this price. But to be cordless is SO nice! They feel great in my ears; in fact I don’t feel them at all. They pair effortlessly, hold a ton of charge when you factor in the case, and have a sleek design. The guys and gals that worked on this for Apple should be proud of what they have accomplished.

The left airpod isn't working correclty.

    • Written by Mark W from SHELTON

I received the new Airpods a few days ago. The sound is great. They fit well in my ears. However, the left Airpod makes an annoying buzzing/static noise a good amount of time. The right Airpod works fine. I've tried connecting to different devices and going to different locations but the problem persists. I have called Apple Tech Support and am waiting for them to process a replacement. That process hasn't been going as quickly and smoothly as I would like, but I'm hoping once they finally do send out a replacement that the problem will be eliminated. Since the noise is very distracting and the exchange process isn't moving very quickly, I can't give these new Airpods a high rating just yet. I will revisit this once everything is hopefully resolved.

    Nice when they work

    • Written by Michael W from Beulah

I'm using with an iPhone 8 and MacBook Pro.

Great audio quality and feel. Never concerned about falling out.

Initial pairing is simple. Unfortunately, using with multiple devices is a pain.

Once paired it can be difficult to connect again. Just flashes amber light. Must "re-pair" constantly.

Love these headphones! Great sound and look amazing as well. One down fall is the connection, I have an iPhone X and a MacBook Pro and when I connect to my laptop and try to connect to my phone I can’t. I have to go into the Bluetooth section and clock connect myself. I have Bose qc35 and right when I turn them on it connects both to my laptop and phone and I can listen on my phone and laptop at the same time if I wanted to. Wish the AirPods did the same. But overall I recommend them other than the connection issue.

Engineering and industrial design tour de force

    • Written by James F. H from Church Hill

As many others have noted, AirPods feature a delightful, almost magical, pairing experience. From the shiny white color to the intentional "fiddle factor" that Jony Ive & Apple's IDG designed into the case, these ear buds are an example of Apple doing what it does best - iterating on a product to make it far more functional and compelling than anything else on the market.

With regard to sound quality, I haven't used EarPods in years, as I find them to offer below average sound quality. They would also constantly fall out of my ears while running or working out. If you prefer the fuller sound and deep bass of Powerbeats 3, you may find these to be lacking in the sound department. If you're fine with EarPods, you'll like these, as they feature markedly better sound than EarPods. For example, notice the much larger port on the back of each AirPod vs. the same - much smaller - port of an EarPod. Sound clarity is excellent.

AirPods have never fallen out of my ears while running or working out. In addition to housing a battery, microphone, and antenna, the stem of each AirPod also aids in establishing/maintaining a proper fit. That said, because of the one size fits all approach, these will not work for everyone.

Due to their open air design, AirPods work best in quiet environments. If you're often in areas with moderate to loud ambient noise, there are far better options on the market.

It's amazing that Apple was able to pack so much technology into something that only weighs 4 grams. This shows that they've learned so much from designing and manufacturing Apple Watch. Overall, I highly recommend them and think AirPods are an engineering and industrial design tour de force.

Best wireless headphone experience hands down but with a caveat.

    • Written by Daniel J from Elizabeth

The setup on these is so easy you will wonder how on earth did you deal with pairing and unpairing Bluetooth headphones in the past. Seamless integration between all of your Apple devices. The connection switching speed has been improved slightly over the 1st gens but it’s not a big difference. Latency is pretty much imperceptible to me. Videos and games are literally exactly in sync to my eyes and ears. It’s amazing. Always on Siri is very useful especially if your hands are full. Makes you want to just keep the AirPods on even without music playing so you can ask Siri something easily and quickly. Call quality is as stellar as the 1st gens if not slightly better. I love these little things!

I’m an audiophile and I love these AirPods. The sound honestly is quite clear and detailed with a slight lack of bass primarily in the subbass region when listening to music in a quiet environment. When you step into a moderate to high noise environment such as a train, bus, plane or busy street, the AirPods and their lack of noise isolation begin to struggle and the music is simply severely overwhelmed by outside noise. You’re then forced to crank the volume to unsafe levels and then the sound gets quite tinny. A partial work around to this is to use an EQ. I personally like the Bass Boost EQ within the Apple Music settings which raises the bass and slightly mellows out the treble so the AirPods sounds more balanced when you have to crank the volume when in a noisy situation. The downside is the overall volume is reduced a bit to prevent clipping from boosting frequencies.

Magical Experience Right from the Get-go

    • Written by Yash K from San Jose

Received the new AirPods with charging case and personal engraving today. Even though I know how easy it is to set them up, I could not get over the magical feeling of just opening the case and having the AirPods just connect to my iPhone. It is what Apple means to me- that feeling of 'It Just Works'. It was as if I instinctively knew how to use them already. The sound quality is better than I expected. I already took calls using AirPods and they are making my life so easier now.
I do wish that AirPods have certified water resistance. I love the free engraving option. Overall I recommend these to anyone looking for the most satisfactory experience from wireless headphones.

    Works Like Magic

    • Written by Karan B from Brampton

For many people it may take time for your ears to adjust to the shape. It took me around 2 days to fully adjust, as one of my ears was feeling like the AirPods were pushing it a bit. After a while though, the pain went away and it was all good. Stays on well even when wearing a hoodie. Tried jumping around, running, high movement action and it still stayed in!

Great stuff, love the sound, not the best noice isolation, but so great to use.
