Check for debris in the headphone port on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Check your headphone cable, connector, remote, and earbuds for damage, like wear or breakage. Look for debris on the meshes in each earbud. To remove debris, gently brush all openings with a small, soft-bristled brush that's clean and dry. Firmly plug your headphones back in. If your iOS device has a case, remove the case to get a firm connection. If your headphones still aren't working, follow the steps below

I've got an iPhone 6 running the latest software. I've noticed since a few updates ago that when I plus in my headphones the Music app opens, even when the phone is locked. I find this really irritating, as there are obviously a lot of other reasons I would plug in my headphones other than to use that app. It also opens to the same song each time (first song alphabetically), instead of something more logical like the last song I listened to. In any case, I have to assume Apple developers
Q: My iPhone 6+ starts playing music on its own. It happens at random times with all apps closed and with or without the headphones. It's draining my battery constantly! It came on one we I was driving alone and it scared me I swerved off the road.
I have the same problem and I had a phone replaced over it! There is something to do with the headphone jack. But that is a guess, I had Siri being prompted by static noise when my head set was on. All I know is it's still not fixed and whenI call to tell them about it they don't understand what a pain this is. IfI notice it I can stop it but if you double click the home button it won't show as open. I have to go to the music icon and open the program then go out and close it to turn it off
