Apple 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter (MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display)

  • Overview

The 60W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter features a magnetic DC connector so if someone should trip over it, the cord disconnects harmlessly and your MacBook Pro stays put safely. It also helps prevent fraying or weakening of the cables over time. In addition, the magnetic DC helps guide the plug into the system for a quick and secure connection.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector lights up; an amber light lets you know that your notebook is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives you an even easier and more compact way to travel.

Designed to be the perfect traveling companion, the adapter has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.

Compatible with MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display.

      Poor show from Apple

I completely concur with the previous Gentleman's comments; we have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Book air and have gone through two cables in less than two years. I I completely concur with the previous Gentleman's comments; we have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Book air and have gone through two cables in less than two years. I have an old Dell laptop which has been carried all around the world and the cable is still going strong 4 years on - Apple it is a very poor show. At £65 a cable it is pure day light robbery!

rubber on the cord rips open

I've had this macbook charger for almost 2.5 years and the rubber on the cord started ripping open in just one year. It's truly disappointing as my old magsafe I've had this macbook charger for almost 2.5 years and the rubber on the cord started ripping open in just one year. It's truly disappointing as my old magsafe charger from 2010 is still functional and hasn't ripped open. The quality of the charger declined so far where your older models are outliving the newer ones by almost 5 years is completely outrageous. I've taped up the opening with electrical tape since it's expensive to replace. Obviously these things are made to fall apart so people will have to keep buying it over and over. It's these little petty things that keeps me from wanting to support apple products other than the macbook pro.

Wish I could rate it 0 stars..

My MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina Display (Late 2013) came with this Magsafe 2 power adaptor. Not long after use, it started yellowing, which was no big deal. My MacBook Pro 13-inch with Retina Display (Late 2013) came with this Magsafe 2 power adaptor. Not long after use, it started yellowing, which was no big deal. Then it started fraying at the end that connects to my MacBook, as well as throughout the cable. It is extremely unreliable, and I have to keep checking to see if it is still charging! If a replacement power adaptor cost around $30-$50, it would not be as big of a deal. But, $80! What the heck, Apple! I spend $2000 on a laptop, and then $80 for each power adaptor??

These cheap chargers break. When will Apple make more resilient cords?

After just a year of regular use, this charger is practically worthless. Why does apple continue to make these cords so cheap?! So frustrated.

I sincerely should know better than to re-purchase their product as I am constantly disappointed by their lack of durability. The last adapter I bought lasted me a big two years, and I consider myself to have been extremely careful with it. This is a problem that I have been waiting for years for the company to address. I don't care to have access to Siri from my computer, just make the adapters longer lasting please.

      Why?

I don't understand why apple makes a disposable charger. My computer was two years old when the charger began to be faulty and it is not fair to customers, as I don't understand why apple makes a disposable charger. My computer was two years old when the charger began to be faulty and it is not fair to customers, as the charger is $80.00. Terrible deal.
