  • Overview

Kensington’s Magnetic Privacy Screen helps shield sensitive information on your MacBook Pro screen from prying eyes. By limiting the field of vision to +/- 30 degrees, the Privacy Screen makes your MacBook display dark and unreadable to anyone viewing it from the side. It’s a breeze to install and even reduces glare thanks to a low reflective coating.

The magnetic attachment is genius - however when my MacBook Pro (2017 non-TouchBar) is closed, it bulges a little bit - e.g. you can tell its not closed entirely. This never happened with other models and I would expect better from something by such a reputable brand and sold by apple.

      Not private

This doesn't offer any privacy. My screen can still be read from any angle, standing or sitting. I'm very disappointed. And as a prior review stated, the laptop This doesn't offer any privacy. My screen can still be read from any angle, standing or sitting. I'm very disappointed. And as a prior review stated, the laptop doesn't completely close with the screen attached. I love the magnet concept but maybe make that area thinner to close the laptop. This is a waste of money. I do not recommend. Get a different product.

      Prevents MB Pro from Closing

Just like the other reviewers pointed out, when the privacy screen is on, you can't shut your MacBook Pro. Which seems like a pretty significant QA oversight. Just like the other reviewers pointed out, when the privacy screen is on, you can't shut your MacBook Pro. Which seems like a pretty significant QA oversight. And also like the other reviewer mentioned, there is still some visibility from side angles. I'm giving it three stars mainly for the magnetic feature. Now THAT Kensington did right. I don't want to go back to the tape-on screen, so I plan to keep this in my backpack for as-needed use. If you're looking for a privacy screen to use full time, I'd pass on this.

      Good but be careful!

Offers very good privacy protection, even when the brightness is at full. However, be careful when closing your MacBook + taking the screen off. I've had this f Offers very good privacy protection, even when the brightness is at full. However, be careful when closing your MacBook + taking the screen off. I've had this for a while and I would just always leave the screen on when closing and travelling with my MacBook. I took off the screen to clean and I noticed there were scratches from where the magnets attach onto the bezel of my computer. So my suggestion is to take the screen off before closing your computer so the privacy screen doesn't move around and potentially scratch your screen!
