(USB to USB-C and USB-C to USB-C) I have it connected to my iMac via the USB-C to USB-C cable. At first, it reported the backup time to be about the same amount of time as my older USB connected hard drive, however as I type this review I can see that the time might be cut in half. Not earth shattering but still much improved and nice and quiet.

      Excellent external drive

I purchased the 2T drive not for my Mac but as external storage for my PS4. Plugged it in, formatted as external storage, and it then showed up as a 2T drive. S I purchased the 2T drive not for my Mac but as external storage for my PS4. Plugged it in, formatted as external storage, and it then showed up as a 2T drive. Setup took maybe a minute. I transferred a few applications to it, redownloaded some games I had previously deleted to save space, and did some testing. So far it's as fast or faster than the built-in drive. If I ever need an additional drive for my Mac or other systems, I'll go with another one of these drives. It is great that it comes with cables for both USB-A (traditional USB) and USB-C, doesn't need its own power supply, and can be used by Mac, Windows, and PS4. It needs to be reformatted if you want to use it with a Windows system, and the software is available for download from G-Technology. Easiest drive setup experience I've ever had in over 40 years of working with computers!

      Absolute Rubish

My hard drive is beyond finicky. I can’t move it without it ejecting. I checked it over and figured out it’s the connection from the cable to the hard drive its My hard drive is beyond finicky. I can’t move it without it ejecting. I checked it over and figured out it’s the connection from the cable to the hard drive itself. Replacing the cable isn’t the problem, it’s the part the cable go into the hard drive at. I shouldn’t have this problem, it’s not like I abuse it and throw it around.
